24.01.2022 They say we should celebrate our curves, but some really are quite dangerous (and I’m not talking about those gracing a nice booty!) and ought to be straightened out. See that curve in my lower spine? For the last two years or so it had been pulling my right pelvis out of whack causing me a sharp, nagging pain in my right iliac crest (tip of my right pelvis.) I’m saying two years cos I actually can’t remember when it started; it had been that long since I’d lived without pain... there. But my x-ray from 2016 showed no curve, so I know it’d been a recent development. Was about to get an MRI when suddenly, I thought about seeing my Chiro for the first time in two years. An x-ray and a good crack later and BOOM! Pain gone! That was a week ago. The relief of being able to move around pain-free since then has been glorious. And all it took was a crack! I still don’t know for sure how my spine curved, but all that life modelling I’d been doing has probably contributed. Those poses I’ve pulled for you over the last four years with exaggerated lines and great gesture have likely come at a price. Tonight I pulled them again, but there was no pain. I’m about to begin treatment with an exercise physiologist to ensure a pain-free and strong pelvic-lumbar region. Today is my birthday. Thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes. Perhaps the best present I received was finally being pain-free. Happy birthday to me!

23.01.2022 As some of you know, much of the acting I do these days is under confidential conditions and hardly witnessed by anyone (and that's not because my acting might be bad!), but for once, you can see me in action and on the big screen! The Flickerfest 2020 Brisbane tour rolls into town TONIGHT at The Palace, James St and includes "Memoir of a Haunting, a short film in which I acted. Noice! Looking forward to catching up with my fellow co-stars, Nicole Payten-Betts and Oakley Kwon and the writer/director/producer, Matthew Johnstone. (Fellow key actor, Sarah Kennedy, can't make it ) But you can come along and check it out! Tickets here (inc short films + catered after-party (ooh!)): https://moshtix.com.au//brisbane-flickerfest-2020-/119639

18.01.2022 Pretty stoked I was asked by Katelyn from Simply Stories for a feature on me and life modelling. I may be silent on the plinth, but after life modelling for seven years (exactly, today!), I have a lot to say! One minute was just getting warmed up!! Want more? If so, what would you like to see, hear and know?? Comment below and/or drop the SS folk a line at their page. This could be the start of something much bigger! And while you’re there, check out the stories of some of... the other, fascinating locals they’ve covered. Great stuph! Many thanks to Katelyn (@kl_crowley1) and Jake (@jakeholroyd) (with sound edited by Kyra Bellamy) + the artists who helped out for this doco. Artwork from this special session coming soon! https://fb.watch/3ynLxwEcfw/

18.01.2022 Always inspiring to see new interpretations of my work, like these by Joanne Brooker (@a_star_is_drawn) last night in 6B pencil at The Third Quarter. I’m so used to seeing life drawings of me without my face (or even my head!) even for my 10-15 min poses, that to see my facial anatomy captured - and comprehensively - for just my FIVE minute poses was amazing! Life models - amirite?? Due to the temporary wall inserted for the current exhibition which nearly halved the availab...le space, conditions were extra cosy, so the air con was very welcome on yet another balmy night in Brisneyland Thanks to all for the lovely vibe and Josh + Third Quarter Gallery for the air con and A-grade choons (the music when I model here is always choice!) And special mention of Joanne’s creative licence for the mirror/reflection pic - there actually was no mirror, but she said my pose looked creepy (!), so she added it and my reflection. And to think I was just looking down at the floor shrouded by my mess of hair

13.01.2022 Did someone say GESTURE?? From The Hive last Wed - cool digital art from Hana (@aihanami) + a mix of media used by Isabelle Cowan (@honeybelle.jpeg)’s to capture my poses, some with wildly different interpretations to what I had intended!

12.01.2022 Masked up for my first life modelling gig of the year and The Half Dozen Group of Artists' first Monday portrait session. How we roll in 2021. What a time to be alive. Current COVID rules in Brisburg dictate mask wearing at workplaces if social distancing is not possible. No, I did not wear a mask for the whole three hour pose as my work station afforded me the necessary distance by default, but for kicks, I did mask up for the first 15 mins for those artists wanting to c...apture it. I mean, it would’ve been a missed opportunity not to! Co-ordinator, Mags (aka Margaret Collier), nailed it with her 3 hr portrait in acrylic paint and Linda got it down in 15 mins in willow charcoal. And did someone say blue? Blue backdrop, blue sheet, blue dress (a new fave from Gwyllem clothing!), blue mask, blue water bottle lid (but I’m a Queenslander, honest!! ) Happy New Year, folks. Glad to be back life modelling!

07.01.2022 From last Tues 18th - fun session posing for some of the talented animators at Ludo Studio (yep, where they make "Bluey"!) A mix of 2/5/10/15 min pencil drawings by Costa (blue) and Beth. (Can’t believe I held my arms up for 15 mins (!) - first pic) Pssst! Did you know it takes 5 months to produce one 7 min episode of Emmy award winning Bluey? New season starts March 17!

04.01.2022 All my poses from yesterday’s life drawing session at Brisbane Painting Classes as drawn and arranged by Peter Bull (Ludwig filter applied .) Those Lyra pastels are a fave and the lithographic paper makes for a nice recipient. The Kraft paper drawing is compressed charcoal and chalk. Big thanks to Peter for allowing me to have the drawings. I got keep this lovely record of my work and it was one less thing he had to carry home. Win-win! Line 1: mix of 1+3 min poses, 10 min pose Line 2: 25 min pose, 2x5 min poses, 10 min pose Line 3: 15 min pose

03.01.2022 Great session tonight at BIA. Pic 1 = angles aplenty in this 5 min pose as drawn by Scott Breton. I always love his sensitive line work in graphite. Pic 2 = boobs, bum, backjust your typical life drawing class A mix of 5, 10 and 15 min poses as captured by Mark.
