25.01.2022 This Women Wednesday, we're celebrating the myriad achievements of LN alumna, actress, singer and musical theatre performer, Elise McCann (Class of 2002). You may recognise Elise as Miss Honey, a role she originated in the Australian production of 'Matilda the Musical' and for which she won the Helpmann Award and Sydney Theatre Award. A graduate of NIDA, Elise has performed in countless productions and television series, and released a debut album, 'Dahlesque.' We're delighted to have Elise open our virtual HSC Showcase 2020, this Friday 18 September. #WomenWednesday #LNShowcase2020

This might be the first time the event is virtual, but it is launched from a long and proud Loreto Normanhurst history of celebrating creativity in all its forms. Join us in looking back at the LN Arts over the years, before coming along to the latest instalment at our HSC Showcase on Friday 18 September, 5-9pm. #FlashbackFriday #LNArchives #LNShowcase2020

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Erika (Year 8) for her success in the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Post logo competition. Erika's winning design will grace each edition of the local newspaper, and the first issue came out last week! Featuring a motif inspired by nature from our leafy Shire, Erika says of her design "I chose hands to represent community - because in a community we hold each other up... and a circle because community is forever." https://bit.ly/3lXgiZD

17.01.2022 This Flashback Friday is a quiet one here at school as LN students enjoy their holidays with family and friends. Our quad has always been a place of gathering, conversation, celebration and busyness. It might be quiet for now, but we are looking forward to seeing students gathering back here for the start of Term 4 on Monday 12 October! #FlashbackFriday #LNArchives

08.01.2022 Happy History Week! Ever wondered how studying history could better equip you for a post-COVID workplace? Or why theatre-making is a conduit to the past? Or how reviewing Australian history could change our approach to science and agriculture? Our Heads of Drama, History and Science have tackled these questions and more in their recent feature articles here: https://bit.ly/324BYv1

07.01.2022 We invite you to our rescheduled Loreto Theatre Party on 17th June 2021. We'll be seeing Come From Away, the highly decorated musical retelling of what happened when planes were diverted to a tiny town in Newfoundland, Canada on September 11 2001. 07.01.2022 Today is the Feast of St Michael and the Archangels, also known as Michaelmas. Every Loreto school in Australia has a statue of St Michael on their grounds. This tradition dates back to the late 1600s, a time of Catholic persecution, when prayers to St Michael were believed to have protected Bar Convent in York from a violent riot. Today we pray for the blessing and protection of all those experiencing fear or violence.

06.01.2022 Alumna Elise McCann (‘02) has officially opened our HSC Showcase 2020! Thank you Elise, for inspiring us to be yes, and... people and reminding us of the power and importance of finding our passion and being our unique, authentic selves.

03.01.2022 Each earnest student works not for self alone, but to be able to impart all she knows to others. - Mother Gonzaga Barry IBVM. Normo girls have been sharing and collaborating since the very beginning. We hope this observation from Eucalyptus Blossoms in 1908 motivates some fiery discussion, focused group work and generosity of ideas during this week of learning. #MotivationMonday #girlsbygirls

03.01.2022 We invite you to join us this evening at 'Education for Justice,' a Loreto Justice Network webinar starting at 5pm. 01.01.2022 Our inaugural Year 11 Alumni Career Chats Program has been a success this week. Students picked career areas of interest and were matched with an ex-student in that field for a virtual meet-up. Different students spoke with a lawyer, engineer, physio, artist, journalist and more! A big thanks to participating alumni for their time and welcome advice about the workforce.
