25.01.2022 Well the mercury was certainly sky high today and it felt a bit more than 41C in the Swan Valley. As the afternoon progressed a light breeze whipped up which brought some respite for us all. Laura and Vaughan had booked their wedding at Caversham House and Martina was delightful, making sure everything was just right. For our female guests, there were fans on the seats, which came in very handy indeed. After the ceremony, our guests departed to avail of some welcome colds drinks whilst Sandy from Sandy Bertrand Photography took family photos in the beautiful grounds. Lovely to have worked with Sandy again and also for the first time with Kiefer and Amy from Chapman Films.

25.01.2022 Honeymoon in WA?

24.01.2022 My last wedding for this year was at Don Cuthbertson Reserve in Cooloongup and was attended by 40 guests. My Bride, Ebony and her Groom, Gregg decided to ask their Mum's to walk them down the aisle and was a lovely acknowledgement of how important these women were in the lives of my couple. Their delightful little daughter, Indigo danced in front of us all through the ceremony which must have made for great photos and there is also video footage to show this little girl late...r on what a lovely time she had on the day. It was an intimate service with about 40 guests and they enjoyed a lovely lunch following the congratulations. Music throughout the ceremony was provided by their friend Darren from Darren Guthrie with his lovely partner Angie who shot the video. Styling was by Lee and Jasmine from The Events Gang WA, with the most fabulous food was supplied by Niki and Ell from Mission with Nutrition and their friend Mimi took care of their photographs. 23.01.2022 Phil and Lilia chose Millbrook Estate Winery in Jarrahdale for their big day. Although current restrictions prevented members of Lilia's family travelling from overseas, I'm sure once international travel resumes they will head off to the Philippines for a huge reunion. It was one of the first warm days of spring and the styling was perfect thanks to Annaliese from Creative Elegance and the lovely Maria Spark from Shooting Spark Photography who shared these amazing photos with me.

22.01.2022 I had a wonderful late afternoon today! Chloe and Alex were married in her parents beautiful large garden in Wilson. They had a big guest list, with everyone complying with Covid regulations by scanning in with a QR Code (Thank you to you all) We paid tribute to both sets of parents by recognising how important they have been in Chloe and Alex' lives and it was very well received by their Mum's and Dad's. What was a little different was that throughout the ceremony JR played ...quietly in the background on his guitar and it was really nice, not intrusive at all. I am sure that they will celebrate well into the night and good on them too! 17.01.2022 A very peaceful and relaxed scene at Peel Manor House on Friday as I set up for Sara and Will's wedding. It's always lovely when traditions are honoured and this was the case, with family members wearing kilts to honour their Scottish heritage. We had a Hand Fasting too after the exchange of wedding rings, using a sash made from the clan tartan. Thanks Raelene for your assistance and also to Marnixphotography, great to work with you and Leke again.

15.01.2022 On a lovely sunny afternoon at Millbrook Winery , we gathered for Katie and Jarryd's wedding. It was just last year that I had the pleasure of being the celebrant for her sister, Lucy and her now husband Liam, so it was lovely to see her family again. It always makes me smile (along with at of the guests of course) when I get my first glimpse of a bride and then turn to see the reaction of her soon to be husband, it is a priceless moment and again it was a lovely few minutes as we watched Katie make her way down the path from the Winery, escorted by her Mum and Dad. Thanks as always to Annaliese from Creative Elegance Wedding Decor/Mandurah/Rockingham and of course Marnix and Leke from Marnixphotography, lovely to work with you again.

15.01.2022 Lunchtime weddings are becoming so popular and it's easy to see why; A simple and tasteful ceremony followed by a nice reception over a period of a few hours when family and friends can gather and bring along their children to celebrate with the happy couple, all arranged by the lovely Paul and Ryan at Peel Manor House. The latest event I attended there as Celebrant was for Emily and Shane who enjoyed having their children as part of the bridal party. It was a perfect day all around.

15.01.2022 Maitraya Private Retreat overlooking Nanarup beach just east of Albany is a wonderful venue for a wedding, however on a rainy day with the southern ocean throwing up it's cold blast of air it is definitely best to stay inside, even so the view is spectacular. Harn and Kevin decided to book this location for their nuptuals and were joined by their 2 witnesses and 3 family members. It was a lovely afternoon and just what they wanted. We were also joined by Ronel from Ronel Shephard Photography 2 who captured this special day on film.

12.01.2022 It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Jarrahdale for Jess and Sarah's wedding. Held in the lovely garden at Sarah's Mum's home they were cheered on by family and friends; with birds chirping and a clear blue sky, what more could you ask for!

12.01.2022 For more than 15 years we have been travelling down to beautiful Denmark, it's our home from home really. So I love when I have a wedding to officiate anywhere in the Great Southern as I can use it as a base and make a weekend out of the trip. The Ocean View Function Centre sits on a hill overlooking the famous Ocean Beach in Denmark and that is where Jodie and Michael chose to get married, on the day the weather wasn't great so we had the ceremony inside and although there w...ere almost 70 guests, we had plenty of room. Just as the ceremony came to a close, the rain stopped and our lovely couple were able to walk down the aisle and were congratulated by their guests outside. Jodie's Uncle Michael was the official photographer and one of her dear friends made sure the venue was styled beautifully. So lovely when you have talented people in the family and amongst your circle of friends. See more

11.01.2022 If you were looking for the perfect bush setting for your wedding that is not too far from Perth then Nanga Bush Camp is the perfect place and it is situated approx. 108km from the CBD in Dwellingup, Nanga is a truly spectacular location nestled in the middle of the forest. When Lexi and Paul went camping there some time back, they decided that this was where they were going to have their wedding. Many of their guests were able to book accommodation in the chalets close by t...he main house. Their good friend Rodney played the ukulele and sang as Lexi walked down the aisle with her Dad - a tearful groom stood waiting. It was a magical day and we had contributions from some of their friends during the ceremony, with another friend videoing the proceedings. A truly an international gathering, their friends hailed from Perth, interstate and also England, Thailand, Argentina and the US. As I departed after the ceremony, their evening entertainment was just starting with #RileyCraig doing the honours. See more

11.01.2022 Loops and buttons are beautiful to look at but the elastic loops can easily break. Adding hooks & eyes will give you peace of mind that there's less chances of wardrobe malfunction on your wedding day.

10.01.2022 This year has brought many challenges and for those whose plans were thrown into disarray, postponing their wedding day to another date was the only option in the hope that next year family and friends from interstate or overseas will be able to attend. Jess and Mick weighed up their options and brought their wedding day forward, having a quiet ceremony at Adachi Park in Belmont in the company of their 2 witnesses, another 2 friends and of course their gorgeous little boy Jimmy. Angie from All About Image Photography Perth was there to capture the special event. There are plans for a Renewal of Vows ceremony next year to include everyone who couldn't make it to Perth and I am sure it will include a party to remember.

10.01.2022 I love a beach wedding when the weather is just right (don't we all) and that was the case for Siân and Michael who were married on the beach at Seascapes Boulevard in Halls Head. The afternoon was warm and we had a light breeze and with the small group assembled, we had a simple and meaningful ceremony. Thanks to Tamara from L'evo Photography and Tie the Knot Mandurah, lovely to have worked with you again.

07.01.2022 Perri and Shane decided on a lunchtime ceremony package at Peel Manor House and it was just right for them as their lovely children and guests were able to enjoy the day without it getting too late for everyone. The weather was just perfect too and as I departed, Dani from Shameless Photography took over to begin shooting the wedding photos.

06.01.2022 Today marks another milestone day for me as it is the beginning of my 11th year as a Celebrant. Since my appointment, I have met the most wonderful people from all walks of life and helped them celebrate some of the biggest days of their lives; from getting married to honouring their babies in naming ceremonies, to renewing marriage vows and also to the sadder side of my work, being there to help a family say goodbye to a loved one, because funeral and memorial services are also a big part of my work. However, with every person, couple or family I meet, I feel so honoured to have been chosen to walk that path with them. So to all who have given me the opportunity to be a part of that special day, regardless of the occasion, I thank you from the bottom of my heart

05.01.2022 Before shutdowns, social distancing and postponed weddings, we celebrated the marriage of our nephew James to the lovely Bianca at Core Cider House and what a wonderful day it was. From start to finish, Lanii and her team made sure that everything was spot on and we couldn't fault their service Anthea Auld Photographer - Perth Wedding Photographer took charge and I am sure that she didn't stop working all day and into the night! Video was by MediaZilla and the final result was outstanding. So all in all, having had the pleasure of conducting the ceremony I was able to experience the reception and we all have an absoutely wonderful day.

Thanks to the Duxton staff for taking such great care of the guests and ensuring their comfort throughout the afternoon. Also to Carri and her team from all-about-image, always a pleasure to work with you and a huge thanks for sharing so many great photos from the day and to Bling Limousines Pty Ltd, the wedding party certainly travelled in style!
