22.01.2022 Lorne Community House is now closed for all face to face services including access to our Centrelink Kiosk and identification service. If you dont currently get an income support payment and you need help because youve lost your job or had your income reduced, please start your claim online. Centrelink suggests that if you need to provide proof of identity and youre in self-isolation or feeling unwell Centrelink can do this over the phone but ask you to please defer unti...l later if you can. (However I have heard that the call takers dont know this yet!) To set up a MyGov account you will need an accessible email account and mobile phone. Go to my.gov.au The below link gives step by step instructions. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//online-help/create-m Once you have set up your MyGov account you may want to link it to Centrelink so that you can apply for concession cards or Centrelink payments. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//link-service-mygov-u If you are linking to Centrelink the agency reference number is generally be the same as your Customer Reference Number (CRN). A CRN is 9 numbers and ends with a letter. For example: 123 456 789A. Your CRN is on letters that Centerlink have sent you or on your concession card, if you have one. If you cant find your CRN you will need to call 132 850 to get your CRN, possibly prove you identity you may like to get your ID handy (passport or birth certificate plus drivers licence, and a bank car) before you call, this used to be done in person but I believe its changed in the past few days. While on the call ask for a linking code to link your MyGOv to Centerlink. The website and phone lines crashed yesterday so expect delays good luck!

Neighbourhood Houses Victoria is hosting four online sessions with Salvation Army Financial Counsellor Sandra Kington. During this half-hour session, explore facts about money, creating new money habits, spending leaks and the benefits to sticking to a budget.... These session are free to all community members.

In 2020 Lorne Community House will be offering 4 days of Occasional Child Care and Surf Coast Shire will be providing Family Day Care to extend hours and offer care on Fridays.
