21.01.2022 ALL WELCOME This Sunday at 2pm at Machans Beach hall: candlelight vigil for the Chilean people murdered by the military and police during the last few weeks. Please bring nibblies to share if you can. Please come if you would like to support the Chilean people of Far North Qld and Chile. Many Chileans still remember or have first hand knowledge of the horrors of the Pinochet dictatorship of 17 years and are determined that this won’t happen again. Chileans are trying to protest peacefully not only about bus fares but about 4 decades of poor education, poor healthcare, appalling wages and working conditions and paltry pension payments. They are protesting because they don’t have proper access to their water, their ocean, their own resources. Only the privileged few have access to proper services and their own resources.
21.01.2022 What a great start to the Cairns Festival. Thanks to The Rhythms of My Land / Ritmos de Mi Tierra and the beautiful audience.

16.01.2022 Familia! We are so excited for you to be graced by the soul and heart warming music of STAV at our upcoming album launch at Machans Beach Hall. A close friend and inspiration to us all, STAV is like no other. To hear her play is nothing short of a privilege. Do not sleep on this magical evening and book yo tickets at trybooking.com/BFORN Event link - https://www.facebook.com/events/2465462550241143/?ti=icl... Introspective and playful, multilingual singer-songwriter STAV. continues her story of migration with soaring melodies and bursts of rhythmic fire. An expressive voice playing as one instrument with her guitar, she has a compelling ability to tell a story in song in English, Hebrew and French. She was born in Israel, grew up in a small town in Australia and is now based in Melbourne city. Blurring the lines between singing and spoken word, STAV. is totally at home on stage, solo and with her band. https://youtu.be/5tdRcSHXE9A

07.01.2022 Album acknowledgments time! Long post ALERT. Perfiles del Café Art made its entry into the world! We’d like to take a little Facebook minute to acknowledge all the reasons this album can exist. Firstly and most importantly, we acknowledge and thank the First Nations peoples for allowing us to make art on stolen land. Sovereignty was never ceded.... The musicians, production and artwork. Broden Tyrrell absolutely owns percussion on this album. A little secret is that he’s actually a singer and guitarist and started playing percussion a year ago?! Wild. Also the super deep lord of the rings harmonies belong to Broden. Warrigo Tyrrell as usual on his destructive bass guitar warpath and singing with an accent! Ryo Montgomery exhibits a guitar, baritone and tres masterpiece. Nobody knows from which planet he came from. Maru Elias hits cowbells, claves, drums and cymbals to make you wiggle and is also too embarrassed to write anything else as he writes this. Tiana Nagy on the sneaking into the studio at some point, learning Spanish and getting in on the group vocals. Segundo Nitor as master of melody. The lyrical genius. The poet. Lyrics to rip into your soul as you dance among a field of flowers. Angela Zammataro is our queen. The one who keeps it all together and graces the album with her angelic voice. Bob Knob on the pushing of faders, turning of knobs and director of vibes! Mix and studio engineer Bob Knob graces the album with his ears to translate to all of your ears the Los Caracoles sound! Lachlan Carrick sir mastering engineer who masterfully mastered. Laetitia Um on the artworks creating the visual connection to the world of characters the album speaks of. This album is really just the physical product of the last few years of gigs, tours, friendships and love! The album wouldn’t exist without these people. Jessi Dunbar, Tim Watkin, Bridget Osterman, Juan Pablo Ruiz Sierra, Ester Ospina, Vanilda Calalcante, Rose Genesio, Naomi Luck, Helen Ramoutsaki, Mel Rappolt, Adrienne Paget, Diva Melendez, Gaby Thomasz. Another big thank you to the Douglas Council and the QLD government for funding arts and this project. And of course thank you to every body who’s been apart of the Los Caracoles journey and come to gigs, bought the album or even liked this post. We love you and thank you. Now we’ll see you this Saturday at Machans Hall for the huge celebration!
07.01.2022 Can’t wait for my boys to grace the stage, and our doorstep!!
07.01.2022 Today is the day! Our Los Caracoles baby has entered the world! Album number four, Perfiles del Café Art is now available on all digital listening platforms. Follow this link to find the album on your preferred platform! - https://linktr.ee/marunz... All artwork by Laetitia Um.
05.01.2022 The Montgomery boys’ beautiful (I’m certain) contribution to our launch!
05.01.2022 So we’ll be famous in Roz’s famous kitchen next Saturday from 7pm, along with Juan Pablo on keys and guitar, Nasser on congas and Nigel on bass.

02.01.2022 Los Caracoles family, this is happening this Sunday in Cairns. Serina Natera O'Connor is leading this event in solidarity between First Nations people globally as well as drawing attention to the very same systemic racism that exists here. Drop your 'ideals' for a day and just go and listen. Please. Also, to any mob that I've missed on inviting, connect with Serina as she's asked for some support if possible.
02.01.2022 Los Caracoles familia, we've been in a slight state of hibernation over the last couple of months. Amongst the situation in Chile and life in general we haven't had the opportunity to thank you all for your amazing response to our latest album 'Perfiles Del Cafe Art'. We thank you for having such a beautiful time with us launching the album across Far North Queensland. We thank you for listening, responding and sharing our album and we thank you for dancing to it with us.We can't wait to travel further with it this year. Exciting news is set to come for 2020. Our new album is now available for downloading, streaming & CD purchase on Bandcamp. Follow the link! Much love, Los Caracoles. https://loscaracoles.bandcamp.com/releases
01.01.2022 Happy release day to us! El Pobre Diablo (The Poor Devil) is the first single from our fourth album set to be released later this month. Follow the link below for YouTube, Apple Music & Spotify. https://linktr.ee/marunz Pobre diablo (Poor devil) - the perception of those who feel superior to others because of social status, power or wealth even though those who are considered as poor devils may possess virtues such as high emotional intelligence and compassion, virtues which my mother taught me and when you feel sad you seek my consolation. - Segundo Nitor & Angela Zammataro
