10.01.2022 Like many responsible organisations that organise and attend events, we are in the process of reviewing our event calendar for 2020 and making contingency plans around the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The Lotus Club Victoria remains committed to following the latest Australian Government advice on events and public gatherings. As such all non-essential social contact should be avoided until further notice. We feel it's also responsible for us to avoid pubs, restaurants an...d cafes, which of course are popular for many of our club group meetings. Those at risk or with underlying health issues are also advised to self-isolate. Therefore, we are advising all club events have been cancelled or postponed for the foreseeable future. Exception being our monthly Early Morning Runs which will proceed without the social element of a brunch/lunch. We urge you to watch the Lotus Club Victoria website or government news for up to date information. We have a number of elderly members amongst us or there could be members who are unwell. If you know of any in your local area, why not drop them an email or give them a call to chat Lotus for a while and make sure they have all they need. Also, dont forget that members can keep in touch via our club Facebook group.

09.01.2022 Attention: Lotus 2021 Tasmania Hi all and thank you for contacting me with your Expression Of Interest to take part in next year's bi-ennial national Lotus get-together in Tasmania. At this stage the world is a very cuckoo place but we are proceeding, in these uncertain times, with plans for Lotus 2021 in February 2021.... If everything goes ahead as we hope we will depart Melbourne on the overnight Spirit of Tasmania on Friday, February 19, 2021 followed by three nights in Hobart, two nights on the West Coast (probably Strahan); one night in Launceston followed by our overnight return on the Spirit of Tasmania on Friday, February 26, 2021 for Melbourne. The event will be open to all financial members and their families of Club Lotus Australia, Lotus Club Victoria and Lotus Club Queensland. The package will include: . Return travel on the Spirit of Tasmania in a cabin and space for one car. . All accommodation including parking . All breakfasts . One dinner . National Park pass per car . Commemorative jersey per person Attendees will be provided with a comprehensive book, prepared by us, detailing interesting places to visit, dine, history, etc. the plan being that we travel independently but stay in the same accommodation and head off each morning after breakfast. Please note we are limited to 60 cars and 60 rooms as large accommodation options are very limited in Tasmania and it is more fun if we all stay in the one place along with our cars. OK, that's it in a nutshell. As more information comes to hand I will keep you updated but please realise that when bookings finally open it will be a matter of first in. Anne Blackwood

02.01.2022 Interesting lesson. Perhaps someone could do this exercise on their Lotus and write about it for the magazine. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=efIJHf7h5kI&feature=youtu.be

01.01.2022 Parking is behind Vibrante, enter via James Street or Wood Street. Please be early so you can have a takeaway coffee from one of the many good cafes in Templestowe before setting off. Unfortunately, no social coffee or brunch after this drive due to Covid19 risks.

01.01.2022 Another fantastic LOTD thanks to Lotus Melbourne and SSC

01.01.2022 Tune in tonight with the Zoom invitation link that was emailed to members on the 5th Aug. Look forward to seeing you at this very informative meeting.

01.01.2022 A call out to all LCV's members, family and friends to this Tuesday's virtual cub meeting, as we explore how to get the most out of your Lotus driving experience It's an old adage now, but Lotus has the term 'for the drivers' front and centre in their branding. This is because the raw and visceral experience of driving a Lotus car is so revered by those that look for pleasure in driving, rather than driving just to get from A to B. But what if you lack experience or confidenc...e behind the wheel, or you don't know what to do in an emergency situation? In these cases driving our precious Lotus could be more terrifying than satisfying. Rather than look at what improvements we can do to our cars, this week we're going to talk about the role of the driver and the opportunities available to further develop driving skills and increase confidence. This will be a good session for: - anyone wishing to gain more confidence as a driver - anyone who would like to understand how to drive more safely - those that have a Lotus they find a bit intimidating to drive (I think there's a few partners that fall into this category) - those with ambition to compete in Motorsport - family members who have just got, or about to get, their license We have a couple of guest speakers, but everyone can contribute to this discussion. Please tune in. Tuesday November 10th at 7.30pm November's virtual club meeting will be an opportunity to discuss driver training and other ways to get the most out of the Lotus driving experience
