21.01.2022 Adelaide Lakhanda and Lotus Lanka are teaming up to present the Sinhalese Musical Drama Film Thaala on the 27th of July. All ticket sales are in aid of the Adelaide Sri Lankan radio program Adelaide Lakhanda. The food stall on the day will be proudly run by Lotus Lanka and proceeds from the stall will go a long way in funding Lotus Lanka so that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of children living in rural Sri Lanka. Save the date and we hope to see you there!

21.01.2022 Since the events of Easter Sunday, Sri Lanka and its people have been suffering. Being away from our home country, it’s hard to watch the events which are - and continue to - unfold. So as the first step to help our island paradise, ASLSA and Lotus Lanka are teaming up to give those who need it a helping hand. And what better way to do that than through a BAKE SALE You’ll find us at the University of Adelaide from 10am to 3pm outside Hub Central. Close your eyes and follow... the smell of baked goods! Here’s the real icing on the cake though, 100% of the money raised will be going to Sri Lanka. So come down and help a good cause, because every little bit counts! We hope to see you pop by and help us make a difference xx

19.01.2022 See you all tomorrow!!

15.01.2022 Cafe Anthony were kind enough to come along last Saturday with their stunning new Sri Lankan Food Truck and provide exquisite and exotic food to those who came to our Family Fun Fair. This incredible team of Sri Lankan cooks were able to raise $1205 alone, all of which was donated to Lotus Lanka we are extremely grateful for the support they have given Lotus Lanka.

13.01.2022 Last Saturday, our Lotus Lanka Family Fun Fair was able to raise an outstanding total of $5,236.25! This money will go straight to providing financial support to disadvantaged children in rural Sri Lanka, to ensure that they receive the educational opportunities they deserve. By raising so much money, Lotus Lanka will now be able to expand our work by increasing the number of children we assist each year. Our ultimate goal is to change the lives of as many children possible ...through the support that Lotus Lanka gives to these families. The success of this event is thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, committee members that worked tirelessly to ensure that our Family Fun Fair was the best it could be. I would first like to thank all of our sponsors, without their financial support, this event would not have been as successful as it has been! Tutors SA, UMed Tuition, Pk Mobile Auto Electrical, STEM Centre Australia, Lanka uncle's car wash, Yaatra Adelaide and Northpoint Toyota have been incredible sponsors, and we wholeheartedly recommend the services they provide to members of our own community. This incredible team of Sri Lankan cooks were able to raise $1205 alone, all of which was donated to Lotus Lanka we are extremely grateful for the support they have given Lotus Lanka. Many media platforms were utilised to ensure that we could raise awareness and promote our Lotus Lanka Family Fun Fair. We kindly thank Wassanaya Entertainment, SBS Sinhalese Radio, Adelaide Lakhanda and Vishvavahini TV. To the Lotus Lanka Organising Committee without you all, this event would be no where near possible. Our team of 26 members worked tirelessly, not only on Saturday, but in the months of planning leading up to this event. Many parents helped us out on the day, however, there are 4 parents of these committee members whom I would like to thank specially. We are extremely grateful for the support that Sumith Uncle, Gration Halahakoon, Ashoka Uncle and Hemantha Uncle (Parents of Nirasha Albaradura, Venusha Halahakoon, Dilusha Halahakoon, Janumi Wijesekara-Gamage and Kalhara Gunasinghe ) have given us throughout these past few weeks. Thank you for everything you have done for us. Finally, thank you to everyone who came to our Fun Fair on Saturday. You were all an imperative part to the success of the event. We hope you enjoy the photos we have from last Saturday, which were kindly taken by Sudeep Priyaviraj from FlashOn Photography Thank you to everyone, and we cant wait to share with you all the change that this money will have on the lives of Pathum, Methumuni, Shamindi, Nethmi and the new children we plan on joining into this program. Lots of Love, Naomi Gamage xx
