21.01.2022 To every single one of you that contributed to my One Foot Forward Challenge - THANK-YOU! Thanks to you we raised $1,255 and all together the community has raised $6,084,161 - which blows me away! 15.01.2022 I've been ghost writing for the Alive Magazine from Kev's Adventures for a while now and they recently asked me to write from myself - so here is my first article ... https://alivemag.blog/category/mind-body-health/ The February editions was on LOVE - I was blown away by the wisdom and insight from the other articles on love too. A lot of them spoke of all the different kinds of love and a lot about self-love and acceptance too which I really appreciated
14.01.2022 I've been busy creating useful resources to answer the most commonly aked questions ... Here is a quick description of what Emotional Freedom Techniques is and you can even get the full instructions of 'how to tap for yourself' sent to you... https://www.loucoles.com/eft-tapping-points
08.01.2022 I’m off on Retreat from tomorrow until the following Sunday, November 15th. This is something that I find important for my own self-care and is invaluable in my ability to hold open-hearted space for my clients. It is especially important when life starts getting busy, and my regular daily practices begin to take a back seat, in order to realign and reset. Taking time-out from day to day life to allow the stillness and space for deep self-connection and contemplation are invaluable to growth and healing - two things that never really stop, they just become more and more subtle. To see the landscape clearly we often need to get off the moving train and step back and look from a distance.
08.01.2022 I’ve been on a yoga intensive this week, I thought getting up at 4am each day for sunrise meditation was going to be hard and it’s turned out to be quite a wonderful way to start the day and has bought me so much joy!
07.01.2022 When we know how important hugs and personal touch are to our well-being what is the best way to manage these things when we also want to take care in these times of pandemic? ... A good discussion here https://theconversation.com/no-a-hug-isnt-covid-safe-but-if
04.01.2022 They are speaking my language! I’m only part way through this Podcast and there has been so much gold already!! If you have experienced burnout or any chronic illness I absolutely recommend you listen to this... https://open.spotify.com/episode/57lSXDGL5qiGCu1BWwHXJU Emotions are cycles that happen in your body and are an involuntary neurological response, they have a beginning, middle and end.... Emotions are tunnels, if you go all the way through them you get to the light at the end. Exhaustion happens when we get stuck in an emotion. Sometimes we get stuck because we can’t find our way through. The most difficult feelings rage, grief, despair, helplessness [and shame] may be too treacherous to move through alone, we get lost, and need someone else, maybe a loving presence, to help find our way through. Most of us are taught to believe other people’s opinions about our bodies more than we believe what our body is trying to say to us.
03.01.2022 Consciously choosing what to seek out and where we put our attention can be made easier the more we do it - everything takes more effort when it is new and unfamiliar and becomes easier the more we do it. We can do this both with our own minds and also with our Facebook feed - the more we search on and click and comment on positive, educational and supportive post and pages the more FB will continue to feed them to us and the less space there will be available for the negativ...e ones. You can do exactly the same with your own brain and habits - the more you look for the good and focus on things you are grateful for the more you will naturally feel and see the world that way and naturally the more that stuff will continue to occur in your life. The more time you spend thinking and discussing helpful, supportive, inspirational and positive aspects of your life the more that will become a natural part of your being. So here’s a start ..... 03.01.2022 The American Academy of Anti-Aging, Preventative, and Regenerative Medicine are a trusted source of non-commercial health information and they have provided this article on Mental Health in 2020 https://www.worldhealth.net/ne/mental-health-took-hit-2020/ After reviewing what happened with Mental Health in 2020 they recommended people try EFT! Emotional Freedom Techniques have been developed to help those facing PTSD or other serious mental health challenges that can be done... anywhere in only a few minutes. For general anxiety, stress, and uneasiness related to trying times it may be worth looking into the mechanics of EFT to learn more about the wide-ranging application for better mental health. Click here (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6381429/) to read the study Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Improves Multiple Physiological Markers of Health published in PMC concluding that Reviews and meta-analyses of EFT demonstrate that it is an evidence-based practice and that its efficacy for anxiety, depression, phobias, and PTSD is well-established. The research investigating physiological improvements after EFT intervention is limited; however, this study adds to the body of literature and suggests that EFT is associated with multidimensional improvements across a spectrum of physiological systems. This pandemic and related mandates/restrictions are taking a stressful toll, if you or someone that you know is struggling mentally or emotionally, please seek help from a therapist, daily exercise might help, and you can try to connect with loved ones even if it is via live video, and by utilizing the Emotional Freedom Techniques. Cognitive-behavioral therapy may help, as well as mindfulness techniques and antidepressants to help reduce your risk of depression. You do not have to struggle alone. If you would like me to email you the step-by-step instructions so you can have a go at tapping for yourself then visit https://www.loucoles.com/eft-tapping-points
02.01.2022 When we are threatened a tremendous amount of energy is mobilised and what happens when we are overwhelmed this energy gets locked down, we are frightened of it, and so we step on it. Because when you are suppressing this energy you don’t have energy to really live, you’re not living, you’re using your energy to keep it down. The important thing in this process is to find a way to release this energy gradually - Peter Levine... This is why body-based practices are so important in healing anything from anxiety to trauma. Those experiences when we were overwhelmed to the point of becoming frozen, like a deer in the headlights, can be addressed through releasing the emotional charge from the body. If there are things that you know you are pushing down and suppressing or if you are feeling stuck, frozen or numb then it is important to have a safe and gradual way to integrate all those fragmented parts of yourself back to feeling connected and whole in your body again. This is how I use EFT tapping and Matrix Reimprinting - combining this somatic understanding of trauma with the calming and soothing effect of EFT tapping is wonderfully effective. https://youtu.be/AZwMC66-sBM
01.01.2022 "Most of us are conditioned from a pretty young age to be helpful, accommodating people. It’s nice to be nice, of course! But where does the line get drawn between being genuinely helpful and people-pleasing at your own expense?" https://www.loucoles.com/blog/listentingtoyourbody Woo hooo! (and Phew!) Here is my first Blog for my new website!! Please enjoy & share as much as you like
