25.01.2022 The menu at my local fave @rubylanewholefoods has a section called 'Be Adventurous'... So I listened, and was rewarded with this Dandy Chai...a caffeine-free liver boost that aids digestion, this dandelion chai latte with date syrup was served on almond milk & it was DELISH! How are you going to be adventurous today?

24.01.2022 Just started looking ahead to Christmas? If you're a bit behind on the gift buying, don't forget we do gift vouchers to suit all budgets from Kris Kringle, to teacher gifts, to splashing out on your loved ones. www.louisekelly.co

24.01.2022 This year I've sprinkled affirmations through my classes more than ever before. I feel they add an extra layer of support when we are exploring challenging themes, in challenging times. In our final classes before Christmas, we explored optimism and joy...when here on the Beaches we were perhaps feeling anything but those emotions.... Thought I'd share some of these: My day begins and ends with gratitude and joy. Good things are coming my way. I choose to feel optimistic. I choose to see the good in every situation. I have a positive mindset. and once again....good things are coming. Have faith. What have been your go to affirmations this year?

24.01.2022 At the start of this year I decided to give myself a break from posting here, and with it a break from creating, writing and speaking...I couldn't quite muster the motivation or energy to show up...but then the longer I left it, the harder it felt to return. Whilst our festive celebrations weren't impacted, our much-needed and long-awaited holiday plans were - and our freedom was taken away. Big emotions hung over me like a dark and heavy cloud: disappointment, uncertainty..., anger, frustration, sadness. Our window to escape was closed...and open overseas borders and family reunions seem like a far off fairytale. But as many of us learnt last year, when life goes upside down we need to open our toolbox - especially when we don't feel like it. So I ripped mine open and went all in - yoga, rainy walks, surfs and workouts, essential oils, gratitude journal, connecting with souls who speak my language, talking about how I felt. I also read books (wow - I have not done that for a looooong time!), slept, and slowly processed it all. We need the dark to celebrate the light . Your emotions are valid. Allow yourself to feel. But also take action, so that the negative emotions do not get stuck & reside in your cells, soul or mind for months and even years to come. The world needs your light. Last year many of us learnt that nothing is permanent, and now it feels time to honour this and move on PS. I'm excited to re-open the studio doors on Sunday for our rescheduled & sold out Restore Workshops, and then our full timetable starts on Monday See more

23.01.2022 How are you feeling in the lead up to Christmas? The craziness of this time of year often leaves us feeling stressed, tired and depleted. So busy organising everything and looking after everyone else that you - the most important person of all - gets forgotten. To help you carve out time to bring your body and mind back into balance, myself and @soundsofserenity, have created an evening of restorative yoga, yoga nidra and sound healing. ... As always with my Restore workshops, we will start with gentle yoga and move into a guided yoga nidra, all infused with doTERRA essential oils. To add some extra Christmas sparkle, you will also be bathed in sound to rejuvenate your senses, restore equilibrium and revive your spirits. Join us in person, or online and choose from our 5pm or 7.30pm session. Head to www.louisekelly.co to book. Places are limited. Don't miss out!

23.01.2022 Here’s what the yoga studio looked like 3 years ago For anyone embarking or in the middle of a big project, whatever it is, keep on going! Your future self will thank you

22.01.2022 She doesn't look like it, but she had a headache the day I took this pic. Some water and a swipe of these two rollers and she was smiling quickly. Peppermint touch went on first - 'touch' means it's in a handy, ready-made and diluted roller.... Magnolia is a floral, but also tropical and fruity. I normally use it for sleep, to feel more compassionate (mostly when a 5 year old is turning a mole hill into a mountain!), or as pure-fume. But it's also very soothing with more linalool content than lavender...perfectly gentle for little ones! Want to learn more about incorporating oils it your little loves lives? Then feel free to reach out via DM.

21.01.2022 The non-stop morning rain means I don’t have my normal Christmas beach photo to share, but hey it meant we had more time to connect with family here & overseas Other highlights included turning the yoga studio into a Christmas wonderland to host lunch, our gf, df mango and raspberry ice cream cake & winning Hedbanz Now I’m grateful for grapefruit oil in my water, digest zen on my stomach & past tense on my head! Hope you all had a beautiful Christmas honouring your traditions as best as you could & creating new ones

20.01.2022 You know how sometimes you put up with things which are actually easy to fix? Then you get it done, and you wonder why it took you so long... So it is in our house with blinds and curtains! After the studio and extension was built, I just got some $8 curtains from everyone's favourite blue and yellow, maze-like, Swedish retailer. They were a temporary fix that didn't fit properly...but we put up with for nearly two years! I decided to fix this by the end of the year and h...ubby installed them on the weekend. I'm so stoked to wake up in the morning without the sun shining on my face, and to get dressed without flashing the neighbours! So my question to you is, what easy fix could you make by the end of 2020? Now go forth and conquer!

20.01.2022 I'm investing in myself today by doing something super exciting...clearing my office! I know this may not sound exciting...but stick with me here. Our wellbeing is not just impacted by how we move and nourish our bodies, but also how we invest our time, energy and space. ... If you're like me, clearing your desk is always shunted to the bottom of the priority list. BUT, not today. I want to come back from my break to a tidy, organised office. @littleluxe shared the benefits of this recently: 1. Increase productivity 2. Improve mental stability 3. Better sleep 4. Improve focus 5. Reduce stress Who else is keen to start 20201 with mental space and clarity?

19.01.2022 Gone surfing "You can't stop the waves but you can learn to surf." - Jon Kabat Zinn, professor and mindfulness Thanks for capturing this moment @ourcalmplace

19.01.2022 This Christmas DIY is possibly my greatest achievement of 2020! Not just because it looks cute and Skye loves it, but because I decided to make time To do that required a mindset shift, a change in priorities, outsourcing and being more strategic...This year I got much more proactive, and less reactive. I took advantage of one of my top strengths, strategy, and started planning my Dec/Jan work projects in October! ... But back to the advent calendar... What you'll need: Empty essential oil bottles - I used a mix of 15ml and 5ml A stick - hubby found me an awesome driftwood one String Flowers or decorations Pen and paper, or computer and printer How to: Remove labels, caps and inner vials Place in saucepan of warm water with bicarb soda, squirt of On Guard cleaner concentrate + 10 drops lemon essential oil Leave for 30-60mins. Rinse and rub off glue Tie string around oil bottles and attach to stick Tie extra string to stick to allow hanging Use label maker to print numbers and stick to bottom. Optional: opportunity to practice numbers with pre-schooler! Write notes (I typed them up on my phone, emailed them to myself, printed and cut out) Roll up paper and pop into oil bottle Decorate with flowers - we used lavender and rosemary as they are plentiful in our garden, smell good and they'll dry out Pick one each day to sprinkle festive activities, mindfulness, yoga and kindness into your December! Check out the last image to see a list of all the activities we included - you can save this for inspo & to save you doing the thinking! Inspo from my beautiful, and much more crafty friend, @theconsciouscoven Tag a friend who would love to make this! PS. If you are late, don't sweat it - better late than never! You could even do this for 12 days of Christmas, or just the week prior. Or save this post for next year x

17.01.2022 Did you know...sound healing creates a space for you to deepen your relaxation. Every muscle, bone and cell has its own resonate frequency and sometimes these frequencies go into disharmony. The instruments bring our brain waves into theta and delta states, allowing us to drop deeper into relaxation. At our Restore, Sleep & Sound workshop, Steph of @soundsofserenity will perform healing sounds with Tibetan and crystal bowls, Native American drum, monolina, gong and soo...thing percussion instruments. Be prepared to also be blown away by her incredible voice! Limited studio tickets left as my regular students get priority access. Plenty of online availability. Book via www.louisekelly.co x

17.01.2022 It was the night before Christmas...and this mumma is not in the mood for cooking! We just both finished work for the holidays today, and I'd rather spend time together as a family than stand in the kitchen. So one of the Christmas traditions we've created is to make a grazing board. What do Christmas Eve traditions do you love? ... Photo of amazing grazing board by @buffetbybonnie captured by me at the baby shower of @theyachlifeaustralia

13.01.2022 Dreaming of a weekend getaway.. Snapped this on our way home from Bellingen a few weeks ago when we stopped off at Valla. A perfectly Australian, long, expansive, almost-deserted beach where we were greeted by dolphins surfing the waves. ... Bliss! Where's your favourite weekend escape? I am calling in more of these for 2021...

13.01.2022 Cork blocks are back in stock! Here are 5 reasons we use blocks in a yoga practice: 1To get deeper into a pose or add more challenge, for example in this version of Paschimottanasana 2To help with alignment - for example in 1/2 pigeon when we pop it under the sitting bone of the bent leg to help the hips stay more level (so there is less twist and more stability through the pelvis)... 3To release tension - one of my favourite ways to use the block is to lie on my back, bring it to the middle level on an angle and pop it under the base of the skull. Then slowly turn your head to the one side and feel the block working into the tense spots around the back of your neck. Apply Past Tense (doTERRA's tension blend) for next level release! 4To support balance, for example in half moon. 5Lastly, I often use blocks to create a sense of hugging into the midline of the body which strengthens inner thighs (adductors) and pelvic floor...I'm talking to you Mummas! We use this one a lot in my Mums n Bubs classes We stock cork blocks because they are a firm, stable and sustainable Shop now at https://www.louisekelly.co/yoga-prop-shop before they are gone again!

12.01.2022 Skye last week when I told her it's school orientation: "Can I go for the whole day?!" I love this age...viewing the world with big, open eyes. Fresh, not yet jaded. Enthusiastic and still motivated. We can learn so much from our children! ... PS. Cutest thing ever, she calls orientation 'coronation'. Definitely influenced by Frozen, even if she has only watched it twice - she finds movies too scary. My intuitive, sensitive and kind empath.

12.01.2022 So I did a thing...I booked myself and @rmk247 into a couples only resort on #hamiltonisland Woohoo, so exciting! We got stuck for a while, focusing on the overseas plans that couldn't happen...on the obstacles, which in yoga we called kleesha. But, then we felt into what we could do for a long weekend that would be the most fun, exciting and free We looked into swimming with whale sharks at Ningaloo, but decided that was too far/too much travelling to go childfree so th...at's on our list for future tips with S This is admittedly on the extreme (& expensive!) end of embracing freedom...but you only live once. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. This is how I want to live the next decade. Take the small steps to freedom and the big leaps will follow! I need your help....have you been? What activities are must do? Is there any yoga there?! I paid for checked luggage so I can pack my mat!

11.01.2022 These stripy beach huts are going on my 2021 visionboard...here's why. They're just a five minute walk from my parents' house on the south coast of England, and I took this the last time we were there. Can you spot the tiny, mini Skye? She was nearly two...that was 3.5 years ago. That was the last time she got to see her cousins; the last time I saw my siblings; the last time I was at my parents’ place & last time I saw my grandma. Like many, our long awaited trip was cance...lled earlier this year. Like many, I quietly struggle with the uncertainty of when I can see my family again. Like many, I try to focus on what I do have right here & on gratitude. Like many, I yearn for a world without fear mongering, agendas, control and borders. A world that focuses on love not fear; on truth not lies, and unity not division. To me this photo is a symbol of hope, faith, resilience, freedom and unity and that's why it's going on my 2021 visionboard. When I feel I’m ready to create it - because there’s no rush. What's on yours?

11.01.2022 Like so many businesses, this year has seen expansion into uncharted waters! Moving my yoga classes into the online space has expanded horizons and opportunities. So excited to be partnering with @theserenitycollective who have moved their corporate wellness events online. ... I'll be teaching Wellness Wednesdays and our theme this week is Amplify. I'll be guiding leaders in the corporate space through a practice to extend their body, and mind to help them lead through change. We come to yoga to stretch the body but my hope is always that you'll leave with a more open mind too! x

10.01.2022 Pinch, punch, first of the month! How are you feeling about it being 24 days until Christmas? Like Rhys or like Skye?! Excited or overwhelmed ?... Pop an emoji below to show me how you're feeling!

08.01.2022 Sometimes yoga slips off our schedule...but we can choose to draw a line in the sand, and slot it back in. Now that our Thursday morning mummas have had their beautiful bubs, Pre-Natal is now back to once a week - Mondays 7pm. This has opened up space for me to get myself back to yin yoga once a week, and I'm feeling alllll the benefits after just a couple of weeks. ... If yoga has slipped off your weekly schedule, I implore you to add it back in! Your body and mind, (and everyone around you!) will thank you for it - especially as the pace quickens in the lead up to Christmas. Book your spot in this weeks classes at www.louisekelly.co

05.01.2022 Twist and shout Are you feeling a little dusty or sluggish? I've got some tips to help you feel better, fast! 1) Twist your body... This seated twist (pictured) is simple but effective. Bend your left leg in, cross your right leg over. Hook your left arm over your right thigh. Ensure both sitting bones are grounded and then twist. Take your gaze over your right shoulder (unless on a photo shoot!) Stay for at least 10 breathes and then repeat on the other side. Swipe right for a more advanced version that includes a bind. 2) Dilute and apply any of these essential oils: digestzen, fennel, cardamom, peppermint. 3) Flush everything out with lots of water with a drop of lemon or grapefruit oil (avoid using plastic cups - ceramic or glass is fine) 4) Head hurts? Past Tense is hubby's fave for this, or combine 10 drops Frank, 10 Peppermint and 10 Lavender in a 10ml roller with fractionated coconut oil. What are your best hangover tips? 04.01.2022 Do you feel truly at peace? This blend was created to assist those of us who lack inner peace. As humans, we tend to try to control the exterior - our relationships, environment, possessions - in the hope that it will make us feel safe and happy.... But really, we need to turn inwards as true peace comes from within. This blend invites us to trust in divine goodness and grace. It affirms that no amount of control or effort can fill the empty soul and that only by connecting to the Divine (whatever you want to call or label that - god, universe, whatever floats your boat), will they cultivate lasting peace. So use this to feel peaceful, reassured, content, spiritually connected. Such a great oil for yoga ...or for all the Mums dropping kids to school orientation tomorrow! This was my oil of choice last week which was much more emotional than I had anticipated! And remember...when you own your breath, no-one can steal your peace! If you would like to get your hands on this beautiful oil, then please send me a DM.

03.01.2022 Have you noticed the grey cloud of fatigue that has started to descend upon us as we move towards Christmas? It's been a BIG year - for all of us. So this week in classes I've been focused on using our yoga practice as medicine to support fatigue. ... Having travelled through recurring glandular and adrenal fatigue, I've found some things that have worked for me. This week I had someone reach out to me to chat about this, and she really valued the conversation so I thought I'd share here in case it helps you too. Here are some things that have helped me: 1) Mindset - doing the inner work around beliefs that were formed as a child and not true or serving me. I love using kinesiology for this 2) Gratitude journal, I use the 5 minute journal 3) Avoiding cold drinks and foods, and switching to more warming, nourishing ones like stews and soups 4) Heavy metal detox using a smoothie from the medical medium and taking extra selenium to pull out mercury and aluminium that had accumulated before I went low-tox. 5) Increasing my self-awareness and using Human Design to help with this & the last year are probably the most important and no surprise! No wonder I'm on this path to share my experiences with others. 6) Restorative Yoga 7) Yoga Nidra 8) Essential Oils - Peppermint, Aromatouch, Basil, Vetiver. This is how I got into the oils - using them to support fatigue and wired adrenals 9) Quality supplementation, I take Lifelong Vitality, magnesium spray, probiotic + digestive enzymes If you need any support with any of the above, please reach out. I'd be happy to have a chat with you. PS. I've also now made my yoga nidra available to purchase via my website for a bargain $9, so you can listen to it again and again. So powerful.

01.01.2022 The yogic way of thinking recognises we should act in accordance with our surroundings Our modern day world tends to alienate us from nature and its rhythms Seasonal Yoga invites us to tune back in and align our movement, nutrition and daily activities to the season Essential Oils are an incredible tool to aid this process. According to Chinese Medicine, each season is governed by one of the five elements: fire, water, earth, wood and metal. ... Each element governs a particular organ system in our body and has both a mental and spiritual aspect Nature: Leaves fall from trees adding nutrients to soil. Time to nourish ourselves, turn inwards. Cooler, quieter days. Element: Metal, contraction Organs: Lungs and Large Intestine. Physical: Purification and elimination. Emotions: Letting Go, Sadness/Grief Yoga: Forward Folds like Child's Pose, Caterpillar. Chest Openers like Fish, Puppy Pose What is your favourite season and what do you do to tune in and align to the season?

01.01.2022 I've always loved jewellery and through time, travel and love, I've acquired some beautiful pieces... What is most special to me though are the memories and stories. Inspired by our wild oceans, my Ocean Mala by SPINDRIFT COLLECTIONS is one of my most worn and treasured. Each one is lovingly handmade in Bali by the famous Aum Rudraksha studio, then blessed with a traditional Balinese blessing before arriving in Sydney.... Tash who designed the malas has personally visited the studio in person to see the Mala necklaces made ethically using responsibly sourced gemstones, high quality, authentic rudraksha seed beads, and her signature beach glass pieces. Aum Rudraksha says that these sacred rudraksha beads are regarded as the timeless jewels of the gods, being the most powerful aid in the path of self-realisation. It is believed that Rudraksha beads grow on trees that have emanated from the tears of Lord Shiva, and used for centuries in Hinduism and Buddhism for Self-empowerment and to live a fearless life. The beads used for the malas are grown on Aum Rudraksha's sustainable plantations in Indonesia, and the variety is 'five mukhi'. It has five natural lines from head to bottom which symbolize the five forms of Lord Shiva, the symbol of auspiciousness. Give gifts with meaning this Christmas that support small business.
