07.01.2022 I had a housemate in Australia who I got on with so well, we laughed at all the same things and never had a cross word...then we went our separate ways. In the UK, about a year later, I was outside in the garden where I was living, it was late at night and I was watching for the Perseids with a bottle of red wine. It was the sort of thing we would have done together, and I missed him...so that's what inspired this song. Meteors Lying on my back watching meteors alone... It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. ...One is evil he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. He continued, The other is good he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too. The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, Which wolf will win? The old Cherokee simply replied, The one you feed. I love this story, you may have heard it before. It made me think of us, in this unprecedented worldwide shutdown. As human beings, right now we need to focus fully on feeding our Good Wolf, so that we don't spiral into despair and fear! Love to all! xxxx

03.01.2022 I was thrilled to receive this amazing message on YouTube in response to somebody listening to my recording of the Queens of the Night's Vengeance Aria: https://youtu.be/1H_tOKrBECc i saw "amadeus" after taking piano lessons for just one year. i was young, and i was enthralled. i sat in the front row, my little neck cranked up to take it all in. i wanted to be IN the screen. i fell in love with mozart that day, and every year on this birthday (today!), i revisit the soundtrac...k and/or movie and soak it all in once more (often other days of the year, but there is so much music to appreciate...). i hold this performance as the standard - nobody ever compares. sure, there are ladies who can hit the notes, add drama, look amazing in costumes, and of course, sing it better than i ever could hope to in my wildest shower sing-offs, but this is how it should sound. louisa, it's not just about the staccatos. you have the full, rich tones for the low, mad phrases, as well as the bell tones for the high, magical notes. not to mention your rhythm and musicality. reading that you were fresh out of the oven and that this was your first recording makes it that much better. thank you for creating a special part of my life. PS when i was 13 i played with our local symphony, and the performance before mine was a petite soprano singing this aria. i was amazed at the sound she produced, and it was a thrill to see someone sing it live. i was behind the curtain watching her breathing. i remember how she wore a belt (it was the 80s), and i couldn't believe how she could sing with such a tight belt on. nothing compares to this, though!
