12.01.2022 Our garden always looks the best, thanks to our volunteers. They not only help in the garden (and run gardening workshops), they provide admin support, program support and they really are a great bunch of people! Our Board of Management are also volunteers and we appreciate the amount of time and expertise they contribute to our Centre too. We miss all of our volunteers so much but hopefully they will be able to return soon. Our thanks to each and every volunteer at the Louis Joel Centre.

10.01.2022 We held our first Repair Café for the year on March 6 with our team of repairers and support volunteers fixing a diverse range of items including a car vacuum, a school bag, a couple of lamps, a table, a barometer, a toaster, and a bike. They also told owners what parts were needed to fix a blender, secateurs and a second bike, diverting these from our landfills too! A BIG thanks to everyone that came along on the day and made the café a success.... Our next event is April 10. Get in touch if you have repair skills to share, are keen to provide support, or you have an item you’d like repaired! This project is supported by the Australian Government’s Communities Environment Program.
09.01.2022 There is support there, if you need it. Just ask - there is no judgement. Many who have never had to ask for help before, are needing help now. And let a friend, neighbour or family member know there is help available if they need it too.
08.01.2022 Thank you, LCIS for looking after the Hobsons Bay community. If you, or someone you know needs a helping hand, just ask.

02.01.2022 This sounds exciting!!
01.01.2022 One of the items that was successfully repaired at our last repair cafe was this rather vibrant school bag. After a few months of toting books to and from school, one of the shoulder straps had torn loose. Maureen, one of our repairers, did a fantastic job in repairing it and the bag is now back in use on the school run each day!
01.01.2022 You can also drop donations into the Louis Joel Centre. Monday, Wednesday or Friday, 10am - 2pm.
