25.01.2022 You may not think so but anyone can wear a boyfriend jean, the secret is in choosing the right cut. As the name suggests the idea is that they look like you've effortlessly borrowed them from your man, but you don't want them so big and baggy that you are lost in them. The leg shape is key, as is the length to maintain a feminine feel to your look. If you want to play it safe stick with your normal size. If you want to elevate your look then size up and rock the borrowed from the boys vibe. X #borrowedfromtheboys #louislooksgood #mumstyle #sartoriallysorted #everydaystyle #whatclairewore
24.01.2022 Denim days! I live in these jeans and the shirt, a recent purchase from Target, is proving it's weight in gold. Just changing it up a bit today with the addition of a neck tie #everdaystyle #mumstyle #louislooksgood #whatclairewore

24.01.2022 Trackies that are not trackies? Say what? Otherwise known as the jogger, these pants are the way to casual comfortable dressing, with style! Normally made from soft cotton or jersey they can have a drop crotch, or be fitted all the way but the ones that will give you the most mileage will finish with a tapered or skinny leg. Even if you don't normally wear a skinny leg you'll be selectively converted by these babies. I have several pairs that I go between featuring horizonta...l stripes or this pair with an animal print which I have in the past worked back with ankle boots a long line cardigan and my biker jacket for a more smart casual look. They can give you the sporty chic edge if you team them with a heal but they are also perfect for those days when you are running around with errands and want to look good but don't feel like wearing jeans. Today I'm channeling a little sporty, casual vibe with a light trench, graphic tee and sneakers. #mumstyle #everydaystyle #louislooksgood #whatclairewore See more
23.01.2022 With poorly little people home from school I actually managed to sneak away for ten minutes to prepare for a busy few days of wardrobe editing and shopping. Outfit planning is definitely my happy place. I love playing around with combinations and recreating looks that I've been inspired by in magazines or Instagram. As much as I love to dress according to how I feel each day, I really appreciate knowing my outfits are planned and ready to go when I have a bit more on the age...nda. 20.01.2022 Five minutes to get yourself ready in the morning. Sound familiar? Does the time you used to spend on yourself now go to organising your kids? Or do you just need clothes that work effortlessly for you to create different outfits? It can be so easy to fall into a style rut but with a strong capsule wardrobe your mornings can be a whole lot easier. Thought I'd show you two different casual outfits, using the same basic style 'recipe'. A Denim jacket, a relaxed t-shirt, a sil...k scarf, drop crotch pants and white sneakers. Just because we are working with basics definitely doesn't have to mean boring! Knowing what to invest in and taking the time to find the right fit, cut and fabrics for your body shape, lifestyle and your personality is the key to wardrobe success. 20.01.2022 Not sure if too much Play School has taken over my outfit choices with the spots and stripes, but this is just what I felt like wearing today. Perfect casual style for a day of errands, park visits and soaking up this gorgeous winter sunshine. I have absolutely lived in these jogger pants from Atmos & Here through out Summer and Autumn and I am still loving wearing them now Winter is officially here. The comfort factor is through the roof and I love the fact I can wear them l...ow on the waist and droppie, or high and a bit more peg leggy depending on my mood. I've just updated them this season with a couple of new knits, this one from Dotti is among a few I picked up when they had 40% off knitwear. It was very inexpensive and perfect for injecting a bit of fun and a new look to old favourites. Adding warmer outer layers like my biker jacket and navy anorak when the temp really drops creates a great casual Winter outfit. Really, we all want to get as much value and excellent cost per wear from our clothes, especially from the core pieces. Understanding what is going to work together for your lifestyle, how to interchange pieces and what to invest in is the key to maximising the wear you get from your clothes. #louislooksgood #itsastripeyspottykindaday #casulstyle #mumstyle #maximiseyourclothes #shopyourwardrobe See more

17.01.2022 Apparently crook two year olds don't mind sitting on the freezing concrete. Taking a break this morning after the school run to fossick with my little man....ah well I'll take a moment where and when I can! Back in my fav ink skinnies from Witchery teamed with the warmest, softest woollen bomber jacket also from Witchery. Its perfect on a cold day like this. I really love wearing pure wool and am fortunate enough not to suffer allergies or prickly skin when wearing it. I kno...w some people can't tolerate it next to their skin, however not all wool fibres are equal. A lot of the agitation to wearing wool can be because the wool strands are shorter and course. Look for merino wool, cashmere and cashmere blends. The higher quality wool the finer, longer and hence smoother the strands will be, feeling softer against your skin. .....I was indeed tempted to use my scarf as a rug to sit on but it was doing the good work around my neck! #louislooksgood #mumstyle #easystyle #feelgoodfashion #whatclairewore #sartoriallysorted See more
17.01.2022 It was a touch of the Monday morning crazies in our house today, so this is a very simple outfit pulled together at the last minute. A stripe tee and denim should feature in every one's wardrobes, they are the perfect pieces to literally throw on and yet still look together! I love to mix stripes and prints too which is what I've done here with the scarf. It also adds a pop of colour and interest to elevate the look from just wearing separates to it being an 'outfit'. It wor...ks well because the colours of the scarf are bold and fun and the black running through the scarf link it back to the stripe in the tee. This scarf is quite an oversized square shape and can be worn in loads of different ways. Today I just knotted one side and left it long and loose. A perfect addition for this gorgeous weather! .......Oh yeah and after a unanimous last minute decision we decided to walk to school so I quickly changed from the buckle boots into black converse which worked well too! #everydaystyle #mumstyle #easystyle #louislooksgood #whatclairewore See more
16.01.2022 Print clashing is a beautiful way to rework your pieces and add some spark to individual items that could perhaps otherwise look a little safe. I received so many compliments when I wore this print-clash combo last week. Generally when putting prints together stripes are an easy base to begin with. The bold clean lines immediately tone down the contrast print and bring the stripe to life. It creates an easy balance between two prints. I also kept my bottom half neutral with... simple black skinny jeans. From there, look for an element that ties the prints together. It may be tonal colours like in this example. Or it may be sticking with neutrals like black and white together or different shades of grey. If you want to experiment with a stronger look combine prints from the same theme, for example play with different prints from a tribal look in summer, or a floral with a contrast floral, or try bold colour blocking. Checks with checks can look amazing too, it's about balancing the scale and colours. One of my favourite combinations for autumn and winter is a herringbone check or Prince Of Wales check teamed with a rich winter floral print. Another direction to take in print matching is to reference the fashion eras and their relevant shapes and cuts to tie the look together. If you are combining prints on your upper and lower half keep your shoes a little more understated, and try adding the clean line of a belt to bring definition between the prints. Remember to keep at least one element in your outfit neutral for harmony and balance. Experiment a little. If you feel unsure, start with stripes as your base. Have fun with it and own your look #adelaidestylist #Louislooksgood #printclash #stripes #animalprint #easystyle #whatclairewore See more
16.01.2022 My heart skipped a beat when these beauties from Elk Accessories arrived. You know that feeling when you purchase online, it can sometimes be a gamble, especially with the sizing in footwear. But, they are absolutely devine, the most beautiful quality and I can't wait to tread the boards in them! My hearts all a flutter just thinking about the endless outfits they will inspire. Sometimes it's ok to fall in love with a single item, if the core of your wardrobe is sorted they will slip right in and breath new life into it. P.s I've gotta say thank you to Bec from Elk for her wonderful customer service. They were worth the wait and the lipstick is a dream match!
16.01.2022 First day back at school and we locked ourselves out of the house.....so we had plenty of time to grab a pic. Animal print never goes out of style, I love this angora knit from cue (not current season) the colour works better for me than traditional animal tones and it's super warm but fine. The crop length is perfect for teaming with high waisted jeans then off finished with some hardware in a belt. Easy.
15.01.2022 Giggle. Anyone else? My business planning has gone out the window this last week thanks to unwell kids and too many toasted sandwiches and hot chocolates. I need to get out of the active wear and back into the groove. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing this week, for healthy kids....and to getting as much done before the school holidays. #adelaidestylist #louislooksgood #somuchtodosolittletime

11.01.2022 I'm absolutely dressed for comfort today! Fridays are usually reserved for work- either a pre shop or a shopping session with a client. But today I was able to schedule things to enjoy a lovely Mother's Day breakfast at school followed by a much needed yoga class. Bliss. If there's one very valuable lesson I've learnt over time its that it's crucial to nurture and look after myself to be able to keep up with the day to day of being a working mum with four kiddos. Sometimes t...hat feels near impossible so today I'm soaking it up. And some days that just calls for yoga tights and sneakers! I love the ombré effect of these tights from lulu lemon, not to mention the comfort factor. If you usually shy away from lighter colours or patterns in tights but want to experiment a little from the plain black this is a great way to go. So ladies, I can help you to simplify your wardrobe, connect the missing pieces and get it working for you. It will allow you more precious time and money to focus on what makes you happy. Please give me a call. Sometimes all it takes is a wardrobe edit. It's what I love to do. #mumstyle #everydaystyle #louislooksgood #sartoriallysorted #metime See more
10.01.2022 Just like that it's Thursday again. I must admit this week has been a yoga pants kind of week, lots going on and I've been trying to fit in some incidental exercise! Today I'm catching up with friends, little ones in tow and feeling a tinsey bit sore from yoga yesterday I've opted for droppies and my biker jacket. I love the definition the ponte biker jacket brings to the waist without cutting the outfit in half. Teamed with the drop crotch pants it creates balance by layeri...ng the length of the tee. I find these pants look better with a little length and a slightly relaxed fit in the top. This stripe tee from seed fits the bill so even if I take off my jacket the look is not lost. The scarf is Country Road from a couple of seasons ago. It's textured black and white so adds to the monochrome colour scheme. Ive wrapped it around and tucked in the ends to create the luxurious look of an oversized infinity scarf and it keeps my neck extra warm! Finished with crisp white trainers. Simple, modern and classic. #louislooksgood #easystyle #monochromeoutfit #mumstyle #whatclairewore See more
10.01.2022 A few of my clients have told me they struggle with layering. Or simply don't know how to pull it all together cohesively. Layering pieces can help you achieve a certain look or just stay warm, especially now the degrees have dropped. The perfect place to start is with a button down white shirt with a little bit of extra length, or a basic light weight top. The shirt I have on here is from Target and is a steal for $19, the cut and fabric are great. Then add another layer such as a cardigan or a roll neck knit. This is a great time to add some colour too either in the knit or with a scarf. Throw over your coat and you're done. Layering can help compliment your curves and create the illusion of a more proportional silhouette. Why not give layering a go using some of your favourite pieces all ready in your wardrobe x
09.01.2022 Date day with my man today! It doesn't happen often that we are child free so we thought we deserved a Bellini or two over a late breakfast at Chianti. We even made it to the movies afterwards. Today I chose to wear all favourites from my wardrobe. The boots are Nine West, I remember wearing these when I was pregnant with Xavier, my oldest so they are at least nine years old. The almond toe shape is very timeless. The cape is Cue from about three years ago. It was one of the... first they cut, it has separate panels over the arms instead of being one cocoon shape through the back. It allows for much more movement and a bit more 'peek a boo' of the outfit underneath. The skinny jeans are Cheap Monday, and are about the best skinnies I've ever owned. I love the soft but sturdy denim and the high waist cut is really flattering. I find a lot of skinny jeans ride down, but not these. All of these pieces have been absolute staples which I've worn heaps and I still feel really good wearing them. Hope you've had a fabulous long weekend #shopyourwardrobe #adelaidestylist #louislooksgood #dateday #otkboot See more
08.01.2022 Thought I'd quickly talk about my favourite topic....layering. I really love layering my outfits for so many reasons, it creates interest, allows us to wear more of our favourite pieces and it's a really clever little trick to creating the illusion of the ideal dimensions.......Don't fear the 'adding extra bulk' myth. Clients regularly say to me they find layering a struggle. I see people pull over the top layer and then not adjusting the layers to sit properly. This will lo...ok unkempt and feel uncomfortable. Here's a few simple little tips to help you look perfect and feel comfortable in layers. Firstly if you are working with a knit and a shirt ensure you have the very top button done up and you are holding onto the shirt cuffs before attempting to pull over the knit. I start with the arms, so whilst holding onto those cuffs slip your hands through the knit sleeves and ease the knit over gently to just past the cuff of the shirt. You don't want to be straining or pulling your knit. Keep easing and straightening the knit sleeves up the arms using little a pinching action whilst still holding the cuffs, all the way up the arms to the shoulder. Ease the knit down the body front and back then tug the shirt down underneath front and back to adjust it. Then you'll need to ease the knit back up to make sure the shoulder seam of the knit is centred onto your shoulder, and the back of the knit neckline it sitting perfectly at the base of the shirt collar. You can open up the shirt buttons now if you prefer an open neckline. These steps are the same if you are layering jerseys and t-shirts too. Thanks to these gorgeous sunny winter days I don't need to add another layer to today's outfit, but if needed It, I'd throw over my long line coatigan for extra warmth. Tap for outfit tags. 06.01.2022 Keeping it simple for the Monday morning school run. It really doesn't have to be about breaking fashion ground everyday, or any day. Just focus on feeling good in what you do put on. Tap for tags #adelaidestylist #easystyle #keepitreal #louislooksgood #feelgoodlookgood #workhorsepieces
05.01.2022 Day one of my pre planned outfits and there's so many elements I love about this look. Not the least the sleeveless jacket, belt and shoes are beautiful examples of quality pieces I've reworked season to season. I think I could almost call them vintage from my own wardrobe! The shirt is a little find from the sale rack in Dotti, it's so on point and I just love the French cuff and oversized fit. I decided to finish the look with a flat point instead of a brogue to keep it feminine. Have a fabulous Friday #easystyle #mumstyle #louisloksgood #sartoriallysorted #whatclairewore #shopyourwardrobe

05.01.2022 Amazing shopping session with my beautiful client. I think I may have wardrobe envy! Can't wait for our follow up outfit planning session together to bring all the pieces together and work some magic. After 20 years of styling and outfitting I still feel huge job satisfaction and joy at being able to help women (and men) feel empowered and confident through the way they present. Clothes are a powerful and creative tool to communicating who you are and what you want to say about yourself to the world. 05.01.2022 What to wear when your day includes an early morning trip to the markets, eldest's sons football game then taking my daughter to a friends birthday party.........Jeans, naturally! I'm wearing Target Australia black skinnies which I recently purchased after finally admitting my favourite, well loved black skinny jeans needed to be updated. These Target ones are a worthy replacement, super soft, nicely high waisted (not extreme) and a really good firm stretch to hold in all th...e right places. They are only $29 so they won't break the bank and it makes them perfect for everyday wear. I'm quite fussy when it comes to denim as I live in jeans for work and play so it's important that they fit well, flatter and feel good. If you get these factors right in your workhorse pieces it's one less aspect to be concerned about when getting dressed. As mum's do, I'm still dodging the weetbix and Vegemite hands in the morning, trips to the playground and then running around after school age kids and their commitments. I'm lucky to get more than a couple of days between wears and washing. I may even need to add another pair into my rotation.....a good pair of black jeans can take a girl just about anywhere and then I'll have a clean pair for date nights Tap for tags. #mumlife #louislooksgood #adelaidestylist #blackskinnies #denimfanatic #whatclairewore #easystyle #feelgoodlookgood See more

04.01.2022 One of the main reasons I started my business is because I know first hand what it's like to start feeling mumsy, daggy and unmotivated, and then to feel completely lost on how to claim back a bit of yourself. I was determined to hold onto my mojo right from the beginning of starting my family but of course I lost my way through the thick of it and it took me some time to adjust to all the changes going on. It could be through having a family, age milestones, career or relationship changes or weight changes, I've seen many women lose their confidence and their groove and it's really sad. To be a part of helping women find themselves again and start to feel the self confidence to project who they are through their appearance truly warms my heart. #ineedahaircuttho #louislooksgood #adelaidestylist #findyourgroove
04.01.2022 Shake up your work wear routine. This look is polished with a focus on classic feminine tailoring show casing a fitted high waist in the pants and tuxedo jacket. The chain detail in the clutch also adds texture and polish. To add a spin on the whole look I've taken my cue from the boys with a skinny black tie and patent brogues. 04.01.2022 Looking forward to rolling up my sleeves today and working through a wardrobe edit and outfit planning session! I'm loving this combination of the blue with the earthy aubergine tones of the houndstooth pants. It adds a slightly relaxed and unexpected twist. The skinny fit of the pants is balanced by the slightly oversized shirt (which is a steal for $19 from Target!). I also love skinny leg pants that have pockets! I'm playing with the proportions just a little by tucking one side and wearing the fitted biker jacket open and relaxed to complement the overall silhouette. All together the look is that elusive and very wearable 'smart casual' that can be hard to achieve #everydaystyle #easystyle #smartcasual #workwear #louislooksgood #whatclairewore
03.01.2022 Well it's been a while between posts! I'm back and in black.... The trick to wearing head to toe black is adding interest, it's all about the details. It's hard to demonstrate this is in a photo. I've mixed it up with beautiful varied fabrics- a georgette sheer shirt with a key hole front, high shine crop pants, suede boots and added interest with the silver hardware in the biker jacket and polished silver earrings. I'm loving wearing the suede ankle boots with the crop finish of the pants too Tap for outfit tags. #louislooksgood #adelaidestylist #headtotoeblack #whatclairewore
01.01.2022 I headed off to meet with a beautiful long term client yesterday. In the past we've always shopped together for specific work events or functions and added well considered pieces to her wardrobe. But, yesterday we had decided a wardrobe edit was to be the next step. I must say that not all wardrobe edits are about clearing this much out. Often it's more about reinventing what you already have, outfitting and then working out what needs to be added to your existing pieces to connect the dots....but not for my lovely client! This was a truly transformative edit. We went through piece by piece including accessories and shoes. By using a personal stylist the emotional attachment is taken out of the process, leaving a well ordered and highly functioning wardrobe for one very busy lady! Thank you for trusting in me
