15.01.2022 Good Morning , I’m doing this post today as an educational piece for anyone who has a struggle with those nasty Mealy bugs or Aphids eating their plants. There may be a little helper in your garden that often gets mistaken as Mealybug However, it is actually a Mealybug Destroyer. Also known as the wolf in sheep’s clothing, it has a white wooly appearance like the Mealies, but it is larger & moves a lot quicker. It has a huge appetite for mealies & is actually a part of the l...adybug family. The ladybugs also love the mealies & Aphids, so having & attracting these little guys to your garden, & not using any harmful insecticides, will help protect the bees and other valuable insects. If needed, I use Neem Oil which is an Eco friendly oil , available from Bunnings. I’ve attached a video from my garden showing you the difference between them. They are $40 ... approx 35cm round. They will be soaked in liquid fertiliser & ready for planting. Soaking dish available $5 This would make a lovely family activity for Xmas.
