19.01.2022 This Nutty Bruce milk packaging has nailed it:

19.01.2022 It's (bacon/processed meat) not just a 'maybe' or a 'probable' cause of cancer, it is a known and definite cause, much like cigarettes are and they are in the same category. There is no safe level or minimum consumption for bacon/processed meat. WHY DON'T WE HAVE CANCER WARNINGS ON THE PACKETS LIKE CIGARETTES DO?!? I aim to find out and get this changed hopefully. This has been known for at least the last 4 years too, but usually when I mention it to people, they are largely ...unaware, or brush it off and downplay it. "Did you know that eating more than 700 grams (raw weight) of red meat a week increases your risk of bowel cancer? Or that the risk of developing bowel cancer goes up 1.18 times for every 50 grams of processed meat eaten per day? The World Health Organization has classified processed meats including ham, bacon, salami and frankfurts as a Group 1 carcinogen (known to cause cancer) which means that there’s strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer. Eating processed meat increases your risk of bowel and stomach cancer. Red meat, such as beef, lamb and pork, has been classified as a Group 2A carcinogen which means it probably causes cancer." 13.01.2022 Loved this doco! Highly recommend.

12.01.2022 "Peas are good, peas are good, ah-oh, they're ebe-peas-a-good!" was the theme tune for Little Miss having her first taste of peas (former The Shamen fans rejoice.) I think they were a success, despite the face on the second photo. I asked her to 'ap-peas' Mummy with a smile, and that was her fitting response. #peas #firstfoods #iron #almostsixmonthsold #theshamen

10.01.2022 Dear Greg Hunt MP and Chris Bowen, I hope this post/open letter finds you well. I have emailed you both privately a couple of weeks ago but I want to make sure you have received this. I am writing to both express my dismay that there has not been more public awareness or a change in public policy since the categorization of bacon/processed meats as being a Type 1 Carcinogen, by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2015, and to put forward my desire to introduce a new law: ...namely that of bacon/processed meat products being required to have a cancer warning label on them, at point of sale, akin to the cancer warning labels on packets of cigarettes. Cancer affects far too many of our population, and we have all been affected by it, whether first hand, or due to a loved one suffering. If the Australian healthcare system is aiming to have prevention rather than cure, as well as its disease-treating model, then I think that arming the public with more knowledge and awareness, such as carcinogen warning labels on bacon/processed meat products, is key. Wouldn’t people rather be told that something is a cause of cancer (and particularly colorectal cancer) amongst other diseases, and therefore can decide then if they want to purchase that product and give it to their children? The facts are: Bacon/processed meats have been classified as a Type 1 Carcinogen, ie they are a KNOWN agent of cancer, in the same category as cigarettes. Having just one serve of these products each day increases a person’s risk of colorectal cancer by 18%. There is no safe level to consume bacon/processed meat. There is no need to consume them, however people do. So, shouldn’t they be made aware of the risks/dangers, be armed with the facts, before making their purchase? As the minister for health and shadow minister for health, you can help to change this, and ultimately prevent people from getting cancer in the first place, by helping to arm them with facts before making their own independent decision. I will be writing to the shadow minister as well, and I’m looking forward to hearing back from you. I do understand that this would be a bold, new law, and no doubt the pork industry would try their hardest for it not to go ahead, just as tobacco companies tried to previously keep the public in the dark re: the dangers of cigarettes. Many thanks and kind regards, Louise Adderley. (A concerned health professional, nutritionist, mother, and Australian citizen.)

04.01.2022 "Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day!" Like mother like daughter hey.. Before and after shots. Suffice to say she loves her porridge, sometimes with almond or peanut butter or cinnamon mixed in, and avo on toast is a winner, albeit a messy winner. #breakfastismyfavouritemeal #avo #avocuddle #toast #porridge #oats #cinnamon #6monthsold

02.01.2022 Hi all, I'm starting the mammoth task to try and get a change in the food standards code, and part of the application process includes consumer research. If you could spare a minute of your day to answer these three questions in the survey in the attached link I would be SO very grateful!! Thanks all in advance :)
