24.01.2022 Great Golfing at Louth Bay Ten teams competed in the Louth Bay Golf Club Major Ambrose event with players from Coffin Bay, Cummins, Tumby Bay, Port Lincoln and Louth Bay. The course was in its best condition for some time following the hard work of the local community.... Sponsors of the day were - Drakes Supermarket, Louth Bay Community Club. Winners on the day were W. Williams, P. Moos, N. Roberts, M. Cabot. Runners up were M.Doudle, K.Enright, K. Reidy, J. Cain. Third best were M. Price, M. Freeman, J. Lloyd, W. Hammers. Nearest the pin on the 2nd / 11th - Ladies - K. Burgin. Men - M. Bertrum Longest drive on 4th / 13th - Ladies - J. Caine Men - M. Freeman Straightest Drive on 9th / 18th - M. Cabot. Target golf was in the mix of the 6th tee block for MND with a bottle of whisky up for grabs once again. $185 was raised on the day so well done to all participants and to the officials on the day. The bottle once again was not taken so it will live for another year.

20.01.2022 Great Turn Out For Louth Bay Golf Over 50 turn out for the Louth Bay Golf Ambrose event in excellent conditions and a Louth Bay course that is playing better each year. Thirteen teams competed on the day with players from Coffins Bay, Cummins, Tumby Bay, Port Lincoln and Louth Bay. Winners for the day were Craig Dorward, Robert Proude, Lindsay Gordon and Haydn Myers, 63/54.25, Runners Up were Anthony Manual, Cody Manuel, Brad Porter and Andrew Gornall, 72/57.4 and third ...was Peter Swaffer, Ned Roberts, Wilbur Williams and Ross Powell 67/57.5. Ladies NTP 2nd was Heather Darley Mens NTP 2nd was Andrew Pietsch reportedly this did not leave the ground and came to rest just inches from the hole. Ladies longest drive on the 4th was Helen the rusty Rammers Mens Longest drive was Matt Molloy on the 4th also. The most accurate drive on the 9th was Helen Rammers once again. Lunch and supper was supplied along with a special event on the 6th tee block with a chance to win a bottle of whisky if you hit the target on the tree 80m out. Proceeds from this went to Motor Neuron Disease SA with event organisers Bruce Branford and Allan Dorward adjudicating, Allan for his visual expertise and Bruce for his acute hearing. Special thanks to all who participated with no successful strikes recorded on the day so the Whisky will mature until next year. The golf course at Louth is in excellent condition so come and play a game at anytime to take in what is an excellent facility with a challenging layout. Special thanks to Drakes Foodland for their continued support of the club on these golf events, please support Foodland in return. Thanks to all who were involved in making it a fantastic day. 19.01.2022 Thanks to all who helped out with the tree planting and watering on the golf course. Thanks to Allan and Craig Dorward on digging the holes, Simon Grady in watering. Special thanks to Airlie Thomas for co-ordinating the planting with help from Pauline Buckley, Telene Clarke and Don Harper and myself.... As usual all was made easier by the many who contributed. Well done.
