24.01.2022 LOUTH RACES WOULD HAVE BEEN A WASHOUT!!! It’s the day after what was supposed to be the annual Louth Races. By now everyone has generally dragged themselves out of swags, counted betting losses, grabbed a bacon and egg roll from the Central West Car Club and headed to Shindy's Inn Louth for the recovery. ... As it happens the races would have been canceled anyway, with a beneficial drop of rain in the district over the last couple of days. Hallelujah!!!! See you all next year

10.01.2022 2020 LOUTH RACES are officially ABANDONED As COVID-19 restrictions began to slowly unwind, we hung onto a glimmer of hope that we could still pull this off to give everyone an event to look forward to. Sadly, with less than two months to go, we have made the decision to CALL OFF the races scheduled for August 8th 2020. The health of our visiting punters, and all those living here in Outback NSW is of paramount importance to us. We do not want to put anyones health at risk and... we especially want to protect our own district and place the needs of our local communities first at this time. We hope you understand. To all our amazing supporters and sponsors who have stuck with us through thick and thin over the years, we sincerely thank you. And to our faithful regulars (and those who are yet to visit Louth) See you all in August 2021! Louth Turf Club Committee

08.01.2022 LOUTH RACES ARE CANCELLED AND SO IS THE PARTY We’ve heard that there are a few who are still thinking of coming to Louth on race weekend, even though the races aren’t going ahead. PLEASE re-consider this non essential travel as NSW tries its best to keep COVID under wraps. We want to ensure our community stays safe. There will be NO BEERS at the PUB. ... There will be NO PARTY to commiserate. There will be NO OTHER ACTIVITIES in the village, and certainly NOT a phantom race call. PLEASE STAY AT HOME and make plans for a big 2021 race meeting! #louthraces Shindy's Inn Louth Central West Police District Central North Police District

07.01.2022 CORONA VIRUS HAS DONE THE BOLT *** LOUTH RACES NOT AFFECTED BY THE LATEST ANNOUNCEMENT Sadly, with the current state of world affairs, Racing NSW have decided that in the short term, upcoming race meetings shall be closed to the public. Back O Bourke Picnic Race Club have just announced they will not be racing on Easter Sunday as a closed meeting is not a viable option for the club. We are very sorry to hear this.... Sarsfield Thoroughbreds - www.racingphotography.com.au It's still 145 days until Louth race, and we sincerely hope that all will be right in the world by then. https://www.racingnsw.com.au//latest/coronavirus-update-2/

04.01.2022 We are a bit slow to brag because we have been busy celebrating - however last Friday the Louth Turf Club was announced the winner of Country Race Club of the Year at the NSW Country & Provincial Racing Awards in Sydney. The award was proudly accepted by Louth Turf Club President Jim Strachan. It's a testament to all involved and we are very honored to receive this award - we are one very proud race club! Thank you to those who were there to accept the award on the club's behalf. Here's to many more successful years of racing ahead!

04.01.2022 GENERAL UPDATE: We know you’re all asking about the 2020 Louth Races and if they’re still going ahead. Here’s the word from the horses mouth: As far as we’re concerned if it’s a possibility to have a crowd, we will race. Obviously we don’t know how fast the restrictions will be eased. ... We’ll wait for guidance from Racing NSW or unless the NSW Government specifically sets a date for larger crowd numbers that precludes August 8th 2020. WE HAVE NOT CANCELLED. WE ARE WAITING IT OUT!!!! In the meantime, stay safe so we can all go out to play sooner. #louthraces
