25.01.2022 I cant put this down! This is one of many in my reading pile right now . The first novel by Delia Owens, an environmental wildlife scientist. . Her connection to & descriptions of the natural world are so tangible. I feel like Im floating through the marshlands of North Carolina. Its the perfect antidote to being grounded in isolation. . I can soar far & wide in my mind with the help of amazing authors like this .
25.01.2022 Don’t be frightened when the negative feelings swoop in. We are so quick to judge these as bad and run in the other direction, or distract, or numb ourselves to these sensations. Why? Because they are uncomfortable. But there is truth & power to be found here. Every single one of your hundreds of emotions tell a message, they alert you to what’s working & what’s not in your life. ... So be curious. Open your mind. What are these feelings here to tell you today? The more we get comfortable with being uncomfortable - the more we understand what’s going on inside us. With this understanding we can then love and accept ourselves exactly as we are. Times are very challenging, particularly if you live in Melbourne. We are in some of the longest & strictest lockdowns in the whole world. Tap into your inner world instead of numbing it out. Get curious as to what you’re feeling and why. And most importantly reach out to friends, family, neighbours or a trusted professional to help you through. You are not alone. This may actually be a fabulous opportunity to rebuild your life for the better.
25.01.2022 This picture literally is summing up my winter / iso experience . Im embracing the yin energy during this winter season; taking time to just BE instead of focusing on the never-ending-doing. For me that looks like turning my focus inwards (and spending less time on social media). ... Im loving slower days, waking without alarms, gentle yoga, long walks, reading, listening to music, early nights, creative projects, trying to notice my breath throughout the day, hot teas, cosy blankets & of course lots of Frankie cuddles. How are you surrendering into this divine winter yin energy right now? Remember its all about how you feel & not what you do. c/o @noods_creative

24.01.2022 What have been your biggest learnings from the past few months of altered living? Its so important to stop, to take stock of everything your heart, mind & soul are trying to tell you. Life has changed dramatically, and its important to check in with yourself to see how youve landed with all this big change. Take notice of the things that have frustrated or challenged you - what are they & what does that learning now teach you? ... What has made you smile or injected more ease into your life? What has served you? What is it time to let go of? Its ironic for me, because at the start of this year I declared that I wanted to S L O W the hell down. To stop over scheduling myself, to have more mindful moments in my days instead of feeling like I was rushing from thing to thing. And then - wham! Covid. Lockdown. Isolation. The decision was made for me. I literally had no option but to stop. (Be careful what you wish for!) My biggest learnings so far are: Family is my number one priority (& I cant get enough of my niece Piper ) To never take my health for granted. That I am so lucky & privileged to have access to amazing health care. I really enjoy my own company & love spending time at home. Its the small things & simple pleasures that bring me joy. Nature always makes me feel better. Always. I dont like feeling like my freedoms have been taken away. That for some reason I always want to do what Ive been told I cant! I really need to connect with people in the flesh, see peoples eyes glisten when they smile & have BIG hugs. I miss hugs. That food tastes way better inside a restaurant than in my home . Tell me your personal learnings from this period!

24.01.2022 Your isolation mantra brought to you by my favourite philosopher - Michael Leunig @leunigstudio
23.01.2022 I wanted to share with you some of the amazing online tools Ive been reaching for during this home-bound period. These are part of my daily habits right now to keep my body, mind & heart feeling grounded & open : MEDITATION - Uma Spender @uma.neave.spender & Lou Taylor @heartandcentre . YOGA - @alomoves with my favourite teacher of all time Eoin Finn @blissology. Also online classes with my local studio @soulhaven.yoga .... PILATES - @alomoves with various instructors. (There are loads of different movement teachers, classes vary in level & duration. PLUS they have a two week free trial ). My local studio @the_loft_by_studio_samsara is also offering online classes. . Psst - its really fun if you invite your friends to do the class along with you via Zoom! Thanks @andrea.acu.yogi & @kristywest92 for the online laughs & support! I want to know what youre doing. What goodies have you found online that are keeping you healthy & sane right now?
23.01.2022 Getting on an international flight seems so out of reach right now . Its hard to imagine a time when I can even leave my 5km radius little own explore far away foreign lands! I miss having exciting adventures to look forward to. I miss adding stamps to my passport. I miss stepping off a plane and being immersed in foreign smells, sounds & climates. . I miss wandering down streets Ive never seen before, seeing sites that take your breath away. Travel brings me into the mome...nt & makes me be present to every moment Im experiencing. Hunting for awe. Is there anything better? This pic was taken in South Africa a few years ago. I was roaming the plains in a safari jeep searching for the big 5. Our volunteer trip with my amazing @kindlingfoundation charity team was really profound. The first time Ive ever stepped foot on the African continent & it was immediately intoxicating. I have never meet people with more heart in all my travels. They embody love & ooze it through every smile, dance, laugh, hug or song. One day I will return. And I certainly will not be taking that freedom to travel for granted ever again.
22.01.2022 In case you missed my blog, here is my ISO-READING LIST . These books have had a massive impact on my life & I have shared them with many of my clients. 21.01.2022 My iso-buddy . Having Frankie here has been a game changer during stage 4 lock down. To keep a routine going, to have something to care for, to drag me outside every morning - rain, hail or shine - to a walk our beautiful neighbourhood. To make me laugh, to talk to (albeit one sided conversation), to snuggle & yes to occasionally yell at . . . He makes me feel alive.... Thanks for keeping me company frankasaurus rex.
21.01.2022 Im using every tool in the box right now to move through this uncertainty! Drawing upon my Yoga, meditation, coaching, healing, nature fixes, oracle cards, connection with loved ones & mindfulness. Self care is *mandatory* during this time guys. I mean it. . The best gift you can give yourself right now is SELF COMPASSION . Allowing & accepting whatever it is thats coming up for you right now - sadness, fear, anxiety, worry, anger, confusion, outrage - whatever it is, j...ust welcome it in, allow its presence & in doing so you allow the energy to simply move through you. . Because thats just what your emotions are, energy in motion. . When you refuse your feelings, or judge them as bad or wrong, you block yourself up. You trap that energy in your body and thats a sure way to get sick! . To stay healthy - mentally & physically - we need to make our bodies a vessel in which our emotions can journey through & release . . May you find the peace within you right now that may be buried under layers of emotion. See more
21.01.2022 If we look at the evidence presented to us by the explorers and explain to our children that Aboriginal people did build houses, did build dams, did sow, irrigate and the land, did alter the course of rivers, did sew their clothes, did construct a system of pan-continental government that generated peace and prosperity, then it is likely that we will admire and love our land all the more. - Bruce Pascoe. I saw Bruce speak at an event in Melbourne a couple of years ago and h...ave been meaning to read some of his works ever since. I know Im a few years behind the eight ball reading this, but holy moley, this book is opening my mind in such wonderful ways! Debunking the hunter-gatherer label & challenging everything I was ever taught or thought I knew about our First Nations people. Such an important book for all Australians. Thanks Bruce Pascoe @bitheega for re-educating us.
20.01.2022 My days are looking a little different right now, as Im sure everyones are. Navigating the daily changes we are faced with while trying to maintain calm, grounding & ultimate wellness. . As part of my daily habits Im doing a home practice as my yoga studio has closed its doors & Im getting out into nature (today was the gorgeous rail trail with my Mum & Sister). Im face-timing with friends instead of meeting up in person. . My coaching has always been online so that has...nt changed (bar my local clients who I miss meeting in person for a hug & a chai during our sessions! ). . Im currently working on a blog for you sharing some of the most powerful books Ive read. Life tools that I cant wait to share with you. So keep your eyes peeled to my newsletter coming out tomorrow. (Not in my inner-tribe yet? Simply sign up via the link in my bio ). . What better time than now to work on connecting within & expanding our sense of who we are. Change first starts with YOU. The work you do on yourself will, in turn, impact the world around you. . Im also working on more ways I can serve & support you right now. . . Group Coaching, live guided meditation sessions, 1, 3 & 6 month coaching packages, flexible payment plans & also the launch of a free scholarship program for a very special woman. . What do you need? What would you like to see made available for you? . Im here. Im listening. . Write a comment, send me a DM, email me, lets organise a phone chat. Im here for you during this time, and always. We are all in this together. See more
20.01.2022 There are definitely things Im loving about this strange period of time. The fact mumma earth is having a well deserved rest from human activity, that my garden is getting more love than it has in years, Frankie is loving me being home 24/7 for constant pats, new recipes have been tested in the kitchen, many books have been devoured & a general s l o w n e s s has created more space in my days & also in my mind. AND (because we are allowed to feel both ) I still crave hum...an connection. I want to be hugged, to be with people in the flesh, to see peoples eyes glisten as they laugh, to go see movies, theatre & the arts, to experience eating amazing food & drinks out with loved ones, to leave my post code just for the hell of it, to hike through our stunning national parks. To camp in nature under the stars. SOO many things. And thats ok. Were social creatures, were not designed for personal isolation. (But in balance it is rather nice isnt it?) But alas, we cannot change our situation right now. And the Buddhist say that the root of all our suffering is our desire to change what already is. So Im relaxing into this time. Knowing it wont be forever. Focusing on the things that make me feel good physically & mentally. Practicing gratitude for my health, for our front line workers & for a government that is capable of supporting its people in times of need. I do feel extremely lucky. AND I still want a hug! What are you loving, and what are you really missing the most right now?
20.01.2022 Roo spotting on a divine sunset hike . A walk through the bush is so different for me now since Ive been reading The Hidden Life Of Trees by Peter Wohlleben (swipe right to see ) Written by a forester, its all about how trees communicate, feel, socialise & even have families. Its so fascinating & I know a lot of my hike-loving clients will love this! Its a powerful reminder to slow down and tune into the language of nature . @ Waterfall Gully Walk

19.01.2022 My joy now comes in a tiny package of a human . . I hope she grows up in a world where we dont need a womens day, where she gets paid the same as her male peers, where she can walk home safely at night, where she can express her views freely, wear what she wants & not be ostracised for it. Where her partner (if she chooses one) will get equal paternity leave and child care options. . This is a world where love & equality reign .... . But it starts with us, here & now, to pave the way for our little loved ones . See more
19.01.2022 The good news? We dont have to lie anymore! Forced quarantine is such a welcomed haven for empaths, for soul seekers, for introverts, for those wishing to tap out of the rat race for just-one-hot-minute, and retreat within. . There is a magical world inside you just waiting to be awakened . . Youve been given the gift of time right now. USE IT WISELY.... . Did you get my newsletter this morning? 18.01.2022 We do not believe in the Goddess - we connect with Her; through the moon, the stars, the ocean, the Earth, through trees, animals, through other human beings, through ourselves. She is here. She is within us all. - Starhawk . . I spent two glorious hours in my happy place this morning. Serenaded by the waking bird song, dappled sunlight floating through the trees, only the crunch of my own tread beneath me. Getting a major dose of Vitamin-TREE to calm, centre & ground .... . I felt *so* peaceful & re-energised being in here. Im feeling extremely grateful to have these stunning national parks right on my doorstep at moments like these. Thank you, thank you, thank you. . The best bit? The kangaroos, rosellas, lizards, magpies, parrots & butterflies didnt mention the C-word once ! Mamma nature is just getting on with the show. @ Mornington Peninsula National Park See more
18.01.2022 Now, more than ever, your self work is paramount. These are uber stressful & anxious times, and without your self awareness & checking in with yourself its easy to be swept up in the c-word chaos. . Remember, your most powerful tool - its always with you, its free & you can use it anywhere - its YOUR BREATH. . Calming your nervous system is only a few deep, slow, mindful breaths away. ... . Connect with your body, get out of your busy mind, slow your heart rate, reduce cortisol levels, calm your nerves . . . & just let that negative energy drain from you with every breath. . The word meditation scares some people. Hot tip? Its just breathing ! . If sitting quietly with your breath seems too hard, there are plenty of great resources available at your finger tips; @headspace @smilingmind and of course, millions on YouTube. I personally love the @insighttimer app - thousands of different guided meditations on offer. . We can only ever come from a place of love, or a place of fear. So focus on the things you CAN control, not those you cant. . Choose LOVE; hope, compassion, kindness, courage, curiosity, creativity, connection, positivity, strength & gratitude. . Inhale courage, exhale fear. See more
17.01.2022 Getting out of the office today and getting back into nature . The beautiful autumn colours in the trees, the smell of pine needles in the air & lots of gorgeous little shrooms to be found. Frankie had a ball exploring off lead. Felt like a much needed re-set, thank you mumma nature for always coming through with the goods. @ Red Hill, Victoria
17.01.2022 About to hop in a steaming hot bath with this soul-food . How do we continue to glow when the lights turn out? All we can really do is keep placing one foot on the earth, then the other, to seek our ancient paths and forests, certain in the knowledge that others have endured before us. We must love. And we must look outwards and upwards at all times, caring for others, seeking wonder and stalking awe, every day, to find the magic that will sustain us and fuel the light within - our own phosphorescence. - Julia Baird @juliabaird
14.01.2022 Self compassion in ISO is so important, even more than normal. And how we start the day often determines how it plays out. This morning I had a walk with Frankie along the beach (where we saw a double rainbow! ) & I just finished an online yoga class with Megan [@megankatiekillorn @soulhaven.yoga ]. Now for a little @yoga_glow face mask time before my coaching clients later. Some days look like this, others dont, AT ALL . I find my best days are when I start my day off ...right, and check in with how I intend to feel that day. So I know for me, if I reach for my dressing gown instead of my runners first thing in the morning, well, my day often goes downhill from there . . . It sets my mood for the whole day. *And* when I have those days, my work is to not label them as bad. To not try change it, or feel guilty. My work is to love myself enough, and to have enough self-compassion, so that I am not only allowed to have those days, but I can enjoy them. Its certainly a rollercoaster this experience, and we cant expect ourselves to feel the same every day. You are not a machine, you are human. We - especially women - have a myriad of emotions and its important to honour each & every one. How are you practicing self compassion during this challenging time?
14.01.2022 Ive just touched down to civilisation after a slow couple of weeks camping on the stunning coast of 90 mile beach . . No phone. No watch. No showers. No emails. No apps. No car. No TV. No music. No notifications. No alarms. No distractions of any kind (well, besides the mosquitos!). . Nowhere to be, nothing to do but be in the here & now.... . Realigning my body clock with the natural rhythm of the sun & moon. Listening to the symphony of bird calls every morning. Watching dolphins ride the glistening waves. Feeling the wind across my skin & hearing it move through the trees. Feeling my feet in the soft sand dunes. Finding washed up treasures of shells, crabs, seaweed & soft corals on the beach. Star gazing for shooting stars & constellations at night. Watching the sunrise over the ocean setting the sky alight with colours. . Thats the kind of busy I like! . . Im feeling grounded, refreshed & soul-nourished after this potent time in mumma nature (. . . AND also looking forward to shampoo & my big comfy bed! Because you know, creature comforts are that much better after being in the wilderness ). . Now the real challenge is bringing some of this stillness and simplicity into daily life . See more

12.01.2022 How have you been coping? Is your inner frenemy creeping out? I know mine has been. . . The oxford dictionary describes a frenemy as: "a person with whom one is friendly despite a fundamental dislike or rivalry."... On the surface you may say, ‘sure I like myself. I'm fairly OK with the whole self love thing. My relationship with myself isn't *that* bad’ . . . but on the inside your inner critic is running rampant . If this is you, say hello to your inner frenemy . Jump over to the blog where I share a coping strategy to cultivate more loving kindness in your life: 5 STEPS TO SELF COMPASSION. 12.01.2022 Im placing more importance on my gratitude practice now than ever. Its so easy for me to slip into all the cants right now, being in lockdown is super challenging. And yes, there is A LOT we arent able to do right now. But my practice has been to try and shift the perspective to everything I still CAN do. Gratitude is scientifically proven to re-wire your brain and instantly change how you feel. I am so so thankful that I live in a place where I can access natural beauty... like this on the regular (todays walk was the coastal trail to cape schank). So if youre struggling with the masks, isolation, restrictions & feeling a general lack of freedom - just bring it back to basics. Practice gratitude for your health, your body, your loved ones, your roof over your head - and anything more than that right now should be considered a bonus. @ Gunnamatta Beach

11.01.2022 I had my first acupuncture session for a very looong time, and man it felt good! Lockdown has been incredibly tough at times and it felt good to give myself some love. These treatments are part of my self care & health regime and I just love how holistic traditional Chinese medicine is. I go for everything from gut health, skin conditions, stress, colds to muscular/skeletal pain or my period cycle. Always treating the root cause, not just the symptoms.... But the beast bit? Zoning out and laying on the table for half an hour with relaxing music while the needles do their thang. Honestly it is sooo relaxing. Thanks @andrea.acu.yogi for my session & to the team @morningtonchinesemedicine - my second home .
11.01.2022 Its so important to isolate instances instead of creating all encompassing labels for yourself. Its human nature to want to generalise, and make meaning out of everything. But its not always helpful. For example, instead of saying I didnt do so great at [insert specific task] today, we tell ourselves Im a failure. ... We use language thats pervasive and over riding, which changes our whole perception of who we are - and generally speaking, for the worse not the better! So remember you are human. There are going to be stuff ups & mistakes, thats the mess of life. Just remember to isolate and be specific with your criticism instead of making it be a larger reflection of who you are as a person. Thats what you did, not who you are. Those things dont get to define you. YOU define you. Simple.

09.01.2022 I have been experiencing awe in nature of late, and honestly I think its one of the only things keeping me sane. Watching the hilarious antics of rainbow lorikeets eating nectar from my flowering gum & screeching at the top of their lungs. Noticing the changing sea daily; the colour, the texture, the energy. From crystal calm glass to choppy surf breaks - no two days ever look the same.... Ive stumbled across gangs of black cockatoos hanging over head in trees & when they fly away seeing their beautiful yellow under-wings. Turning my face towards the sunlight in between moving clouds & feeling the warm rays melt me from the outside in. Breathing in fresh air in bushland surrounded by eucalypts & banksias. Hearing the beautiful eerie sound of the wind whistling through the sheoaks. Such simple pleasures. These are often the highlight of my days at the moment & Im really happy with that! Nothing else brings me into the present moment faster & instils that sense or awe & wonder. Im grateful to be surrounded by such beauty at a time like this. What has been bringing you a feeling of gratitude or awe? c/o @funkblast
07.01.2022 Cold water immersion for the win today . I woke up feeling flat. Unmotivated. I could have easily stayed in my pjs till lunchtime. . . Groundhog Day is certainly a reality in stage 4 lockdown . The emotional rollercoaster of these challenging times is a hard one to manage thats for sure.... But a walk in the fresh air & then an uber refreshing dip in the wild ocean has shifted my energy so much! When Im not feeling my best self I always bring it back to 4 basic check points: FOOD MOVEMENT CONNECTION & NATURE. Checking in with myself when I feel blah, usually one or all of these aspects have been neglected. I know for me personally I need to eat well, move my body, connect with loved ones & get out into nature to feel like my best self. (Thanks to my amazing coach @erinkyna for bringing this to my attention! ). Your focus may look different, so what brings out the best version of YOU? I may steal some of your ideas, so share with me below .
07.01.2022 Thank the lord for this pooch during #isolife ! Frankies daily walks, cuddles & general hilarity are keeping me sane. [Great listener, but useless for conversing . I still miss my humans SO much! ]. Do you have animal friends keeping you company right now? Ps - fresh hair by @bokany.hair who just came to my house, thanks Cody! Now if only I could have my friends home delivered, the world would be a-ok . @ Mount Martha, Victoria, Australia
05.01.2022 This is the challenge right, even in stage 4 lockdown. Ask yourself these questions & journal down your answers - you may just be surprised at what you find! How can you still find joy? What makes you still feel awe? ... What or who brings a smile to your face? What makes you feel calm & peaceful? What are you most grateful for right now? What has been your biggest learning from this experience? See what themes & patterns emerge from this little exercise. THEN MAKE SURE you devote time & energy to the things that make you fall back in love with your life. Im going to do them too! The work is more important now than ever.

I miss having exciting adventures to look forward to. I miss adding stamps to my passport. I miss stepping off a plane and being immersed in foreign smells, sounds & climates. . I miss wandering down streets I’ve never seen before, seeing sites that take your breath away. Travel brings me into the mome...nt & makes me be present to every moment I’m experiencing. Hunting for awe. Is there anything better? This pic was taken in South Africa a few years ago. I was roaming the plains in a safari jeep searching for the big 5. Our volunteer trip with my amazing @kindlingfoundation charity team was really profound. The first time I’ve ever stepped foot on the African continent & it was immediately intoxicating. I have never meet people with more heart in all my travels. They embody love & ooze it through every smile, dance, laugh, hug or song. One day I will return. And I certainly will not be taking that freedom to travel for granted ever again.
01.01.2022 Words that warm my heart . When you begin coaching you can have an idea of what you want to achieve, you can have goals youd like to accomplish - but you are never truly prepared for the level of transformation & growth. That only unravels once we begin and allows for changes you never dreamed possible. Every single person I work with gains so much more than they thought they would from the coaching process. And its this magic that makes it all worth it.
