11.01.2022 April 2nd is Autism awareness day and marks the start of Autism awareness month. Today marks the start of increasing understanding and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum. For 5 years I have been working alongside various students on the autism spectrum and have loved every minute finding new ways to teach and even learn as an educator. This year I decided I wanted to learn more and enrolled into a degree in Autism. I hope to continue learning and building my own knowledge to support individuals on the autism spectrum and to help spread awareness. Autism is not a disability it’s a different way of thinking. So join me in celebrating Autism this month. Stay tuned for more awareness building at Love2Learn Tutoring this month.

11.01.2022 Let’s talk about the NAPLAN! The NAPLAN can be daunting.. I mean after all it is an assessment. Students across the nation in years 3,5,7 and 9 complete this test yearly and it provides results that help schools, teachers and educators fill the gaps in students literacy and numeracy skills. But the big question is... How can parents help prepare students? Here are 3 tips I’ve come up with to help all parents during this time. ... 1Talk to your child about the NAPLAN.Explain what’s expected and eliminate any stress associated with the test. This will allow them to understand that it’s just like any ordinary test and they just need to do their best. It’s important to acknowledge your child’s nervousness rather than dismissing it as unwarranted. 2Print a past paper or practise a test on the demonstration site (Its FREE). This is the perfect way for your child to see what the test looks like, practise under timed conditions and familiarise themselves with what they’ll need to expect on the day. 3Purchase a NAPLAN practise book (Kmart and Officeworks sell them for $12). If you have any other concerns regarding your child and the upcoming NAPLAN send us a message OR stay tuned for our upcoming NAPLAN workshops.
