17.01.2022 Thanks Lady Startup and Collective Hub for this kick up the backside! It was in a webinar with Mia Freedman, followed by Lisa's book Risk & Resilience, that made me realise something. Because of my impatience to grow, I had lost touch with WHY I started Love, Boxed. . . I can clearly remember sitting in the Brisbane CBD in early 2019 before I started work, reading another book by a startup founder who had gone on to find success. I was counting down the minutes before I had t...o head to the office with dread because that environment was stressing me out to the point of illness and I wanted to be anywhere but there. I decided to take the plunge and start my business because I wanted to do what I was good at; helping other people feel better. Taking care of others. Being the friend I needed when I was at my lowest point. . . I've been so focussed on what I want my business and my life to be that I lost touch on why I started. I haven't taken the time nor allowed myself to be proud of how far I had come. Last year I was plucking up the courage to start my business. This year it is not only operating, but my own life has transformed into what I wished so badly for and need to stop taking for granted. I have a family of my own, with my first baby about to make his way into the world. I have a partner who encourages me to be the best version of myself and calls me out on my BS. I have a business that I started from nothing and now brings happiness to people around Australia. . . Thank you Mia and Lisa for making me pause to reconnect with my why. It has helped me realise how far I have come, and how proud I should be for what I have done up until today.
