22.01.2022 There has been some confusion about getting married in NSW. Here is the latest information from the Dept of Health NSW. Weddings, funerals and religious services New South Wales Current as of 5 August 2020, at 14:30 AEST... Weddings Up to 150 people can attend a wedding or a gathering following a wedding service. This is subject to the 4 square metre rule and registration as a COVID-Safe business. Up to 100 people can attend a wedding held in a place of worship, also subject to the 4 square metre rule. No more than 20 people can attend a wedding at a private residence. Everyone must provide their name and contact details in case they’re needed for contact tracing purposes. Funerals Up to 100 people can attend a funeral or memorial service or a gathering following a funeral or memorial service, subject to the 4 square metre rule. Places of worship, funeral homes and crematoria must be registered as a COVID Safe business. Funerals at a private residence are limited by the 20 person visitor rule. Everyone must provide their name and contact details in case they're needed for contact tracing purposes Places of worship No more than 100 people can attend a public place of worship, subject to the 4 square metre rule. This number applies to the whole of the venue, even where men and women worship in separate areas. The place of worship must also have a COVID-19 safety plan and be registered as a COVID Safe venue. 16.01.2022 For the time being from today in NSW wedding ceremonies can now have 10 guests plus the couple and the Celebrant that is 13 people in total. This includes children and your witnesses. So really they have only increased the number by 8 people, the social distancing will still stand. 09.01.2022 New updates for weddings in NSW from BDM Dear Marriage Celebrant, I am writing in relation to updated NSW COVID-19 guidelines that come into effect recently. ... For the health of the community it is crucial that you are aware of and follow advice from State and Federal Governments. Given the risk of COVID-19 transmission on the Northern Beaches and across Greater Sydney (including Wollongong, Central Coast and Blue Mountains), the following adjustments are being made. Numbers attending: Weddings are limited to 1 person per 4sqm up to a maximum of 100 people. Information for Northern Beaches can be found at https://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au//Public%20Health%20(COV Masks: There is not requirement to wear masks in an outdoor setting. If a wedding occurs in a place of worship, as part of a religious service, all attendees will need to wear masks for that part of the ceremony. In a hospitality venue however (such as a restaurant, wine bar, pub or club) the requirement to wear masks is only for staff in customer facing roles, such as waiters and bar tenders. Patrons are not required to wear masks in these type of premises. Weddings will however also be required to comply with the social distancing restrictions of 1 person per 4sqm up to a maximum of 100 people. If a wedding is performed at a private home, up to 5 visitors from any number of households may attend. The total number of visitors includes adults and children. (A member of the hosting household is not counted as a visitor.) For further information, please refer to the update on restrictions released by the Premier on 2 January 2021 at https://www.nsw.gov.au///wedding-ceremonies-and-receptions The Registry will continue to inform you of any changes as they arise.

09.01.2022 You can still be married in the Hawkesbury, yes it may be a smaller intimate wedding than you may have planned this year but you can still get married, still celebrate and by thinking outside the box still have your family watch you get married. Don’t let COVID take away your dreams.

09.01.2022 Regardless of whether you are having a small intimate ceremony or a full ceremony I will do my very best to make your day special.

08.01.2022 How to change your surname after marriage... This is something I chat about with all my couples, when we are doing the legal paperwork, but sometimes that is filled out months and months before, even up to 18months before so it's easy to forget. Changing a bride’s (or groom’s!) last name after you get married is pretty straight forward.... On your wedding day your I will present you with a Marriage Certificate 'it's the pretty one' you take that home to put on display some where pretty. On your wedding day, the moment I declare you husband and wife you can change it on Facebook, Twitter etc but that's about it for that moment. After all, you drivers licence is still the same.... So technically you are still known legally by that name... Your 'pretty marriage certificate' will not be accepted to change your name, however, but it IS a legal document and can never be replaced. So look after it! After the ceremony I will apply for your official Marriage certificate this usually takes around 10-14 days for BDM to send to you. When you receive that Marriage Certificate (it's boring... Looks just like a birth certificate) you can can go to the Services NSW, Passport office, bank, Medicare and others, and present your Marriage Certificate and they will accept that as proof and change your name for you. P.s. Don’t book honeymoon flights under your new married name without receiving your Official Marriage Certificate first, the pretty one is not proof and FB won’t prove anything except you got married to your friends.

05.01.2022 Important information for all couples wishing to get married during the covid-19 episode. COVID-19 Guidelines for Weddings in NSW Public Health Order (2) 2020 Dear Wedding couples, The NSW Government has now published Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order (No 2) 2020 providing detailed information on requirements for weddings taking place in NSW....
