25.01.2022 ANZAED has strong concerns about the Fast Track to Health trial being conducted at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Monash Children's Hospital. ANZAED di...sputes the justification of the risks involved in the trial. To read our full statement, please click here http://www.anzaed.org.au/anzaed-position-on-the-fast-track-. 24.01.2022 One of the most prestigious and conservative eating disorder organisations in the world have just released a position statement against the Fast Track Trial: "R...esearch that promises few to no reasonably anticipated benefits alongside serious risks in a vulnerable population, such as appears to be the case in this study, should not proceed." So here we have multiple complaints from highly qualified and experienced eating disorders and health professionals directly to the researchers saying this is harmful and should stop. We have multiple statements from organisations saying that this is a really bad idea and needs to stop. And we have over 18000 people who have signed a petition to say - this should stop. In a nutshell: THE FAST TRACK TRIAL NEEDS TO STOP. When are you going to listen, Westmead Children's Hospital and the Fast Track researchers? Knowing all of the risks, the incredible mountain of knowledge and experience which informs this pushback - how on earth can you ignore this?? Know this: we are not going away. See more

21.01.2022 Fat people have heads - Samantha Bee

21.01.2022 "The problem is, when youre fat, nobody sees the restrictive part. All they see is the fat girl who binges on sweets. They dont see the part where you try and... avoid them all day, or all week. They dont see the secret purging. They dont see the behaviors for what they are an eating disorder." See more

20.01.2022 Body positivity isn't about us as individuals feeling better about our own bodies (although that can be a side effect) - it's about all bodies deserving to be t...reated with respect and care, and that HAS to include bodies that are genuinely marginalized by society. If it doesn't, it's just a fluffy pep talk for people who have the privilege of not having their bodies affect their job prospects, their risk of violence, the standard of medical care they receive or whether they are even physically acommodated in the public sphere. We can and must do better than fluffy pep talks, especially when they exclude the very people this movement is supposed to be supporting. All of us or none of us.

20.01.2022 It’s a mission and a half trying to find comfy clothes that fit the #babybump. BTW it’s not just the baby bump that grows #yafeelme. Solution adjustable #errthang. Top with tie up straps paired with a wrap skirt #RSmoment. *I’d like to acknowledge my #thinprivilege and all the #mammas who are struggling more than I am.

20.01.2022 Putting on a brave theater face. I had my first #laparoscopy yesterday after suspensions of #endometriosis. Prescription- bed rest A stomach pumped full of CO2 has take its toll. Ill be putting up a serious of posts over the next few days with updates on what we discovered and where to from here. It is hard to talk about your own health issues because for some reason there is this innate instinct of keeping it private. Im pushing through these thoughts because the more we talk about womens heath the less stigma there will be and hopefully it can bring awareness to conditions that go undiagnosed.

18.01.2022 INVITATION TO QUESTION DIET CULTURE Truth. REPOST VIA Cara Harbstreet .... Why do we need weight inclusive spaces, more size diversity, and representation in dietetics? (And you know...the world in general) . Because there has always been diversity in body shapes and sizes. There will always be diversity in body shapes and sizes. And there is absolutely nothing wrong, bad, or unhealthy about bodies of any shape or size #allbodiesaregoodbodies . And also...the fact that thin or small bodies arent immune to chronic diseases, joint pain, infertility, sleep disorders, metabolic disturbances, increased risk of whatever malady you want to throw out there, or anything else you want to blame on weight. What they are maybe immune to is the level of weight stigma, judgement, and unsolicited advice thats enforced by our cultures thin bias. . My recap of the #windworkshop2019 is posted this morning and thats where this quote came from. Hearing from @jennifermcgurkrdn and @goodnessgraciousliving was just what I needed to fill my cup again and come home ready to keep working (and @heatherdcrd and @alissarumseyrd absolutely slayed it as the co-hosts). Catch Episode 95 of the @rdrealtalk podcast, too. See more

17.01.2022 Today, in particular, is a day where we advocate for women. Im still learning to make the most of my voice in spreading messages that are close to my heart. Womens health! Chronic dieting, also know as disordered eating has so many detrimental physical and mental health effects. Dieting actually makes our health worse! The point here is that we need to stop being told to strive to be in smaller bodies. We come in all shapes and sizes so get use to it coz with movements such... as @bodyimagemovement @bodypositiveyoga @moderationmovement and #HAES you are going to see more women being comfortable in the bodies that they are in, just the way they are. Another of my passions is creating awareness of endometriosis. A condition that 1 in 10 women have and dont get diagnosed until they have suffered for just under a decade. I want to see a change in this statistic with early diagnosis which will improve quality of life and fertility status. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMANS DAY See more

06.01.2022 On the mend! I did find my self needing to sit while chopping the salad though That dreaded CO2 has dissipated, the laparoscopy scars are healing nicely and Im finally starting to get back to my old self. About a year ago now, I heard about endometriosis for the first time. I learnt so much about this illness and about how complicated its diagnosis is. So far, the only way to diagnose endometriosis is via laparoscopy (surgery to look inside your abdominal cavity). It so ...happens that female organs are complicated too! Just as endometriosis can develop adhesions (connective bits of tissues un-naturally sticking one organ to another) so to can having a burst appendix. My burst appendix that was removed almost 20 years ago now, caused my bodys organs to go into shield mode... more info on this in an upcoming post . So although Ive been cleared of Endo and Im saying bye to my #endosisters I will forever be an ambassador for #endometriosisawareness See more

01.01.2022 Who says you shouldnt buy Mum kitchen staff for Mothers Day! This beautiful organic or salvaged cotton is spotted with the natural colour of eucalyptus and other autumn leaves then dipped in beeswax.
