Plus, choosing the right celebrant for you will get the day rolling along nicely. Weddings are celebrations and they’re incredibly important occasions. They should be happy and serious. A little more happy than serious, but not too frivolous. Laughter and tears. I’m forever striving to get that perfect balance betw...een entertainment and solemnity. And I get pretty close. At the end of one of my ceremonies the guests will have been well entertained and they’ll have also been made patently aware of why they’re there. A good ceremony will set the mood for a sensational after party (reception). That’s my job. 03.01.2022 GET IN EARLY PEOPLE. BOOK THAT SPECIAL DAY NOW!!!! From 9 December 2017, marriage in Australia will be redefined as ‘the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life’. The right to marry under Australian law will no longer be determined by sex or gender. It will be legal for same-sex couples to marry in Australia. The usual requirements around giving a Notice of Intended Marriage continue to apply; the NOIM must be given at least one month prior to the wedding ceremony, unless a shortening of time has been obtained from a prescribed authority. The earliest a samesex couple can give a notice is 9 December 2017.
