24.01.2022 C O M M U N I T Y Thank you so much to all the mama's who came to our Bubs and Business, "Creating A Community" event at Westfield Helensvale yesterday. We had the privilege of having the beautiful Nikki McCahon from Mama Tribe share her experience and abundance of knowledge on creating a community with us. This was hands down the most inspiring, honest and valuable talk on this topic that I've heard to date and we feel sooooo honoured to have had the opportunity to learn ...from such a gorgeous, kind mama who is here to make a really big difference to mothers all over Australia. 20.01.2022 YOU CANNOT FIX, WHAT YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO FACE. I heard those words this week and it made the whole room stop. "You cannot fix, what you are not willing to face." Trent Shelton... A simple, yet uncomfortable truth for us all to sit with. So many of us, myself included, have been in circumstances in our lives, our relationships and our businesses that are not in alignment with who we are as a person. You see, when we chose to stay with toxic people and in circumstances that are not right for us; when we stay committed to values and obligations that do not serve us, it causes conflict in our hearts, our mindsets and our body. When we hold onto this conflict, we lose the opportunity to fully thrive and show up in the world. We lose happiness, we lose connection, we lose our ability to truly shine. When we cannot face the things that are causing conflict in life, we give away our power and let me assure you that life is too fucking short to be living with your voice turned down. This week I was reminded of the power, freedom, support and joy that lies behind facing the things that need fixing. Its time to have uncomfortable conversations. Its time to say no. Its time to cut ties. Its time to be courageous and take that big leap. Dont just say YES to what you really want in life, demand it. 19.01.2022 I have something difficult to share. For so many years, I have been living with domestic violence. Its something my family and I have been living with, in silence. ... I chose to leave many years ago but I also chose to be silent about what had happened. I thought if I made myself smaller, if I kept quiet, if I made myself invisible and put my energy towards being kind to those around me, that it would somehow go away. It didnt. It got worse. I was a vibrant, successful, confident person. I have achieved so many HUGE milestones in my business for my age. I am an accomplished speaker, writer and mentor. Ive written for magazines, newspapers, featured on television and had my own column in a well-known publication. In some part, I felt so much shame that I let it happen to me. Because how does someone who has done all of that become a victim of domestic violence? It happened because I chose silence instead of speaking up. It happened because I chose to withdraw from those around me instead of seeking support. It happened because by choosing to keep another persons hideous actions invisible, they continue to thrive and fester behind closed doors, in the darkness. By choosing silence, the cycle of abuse and victimisation is allowed to continue. By not standing up for myself, I shut down in all areas and I allowed others in my life to behave and act in a disrespectful way. This morning I experienced something so horrible personally, that I felt my whole body shut down again and was unable to speak or breathe. But this time instead of choosing silence, I sent a message to over 70 people in my contacts and chose to speak up for the first time in over 8 years. Through this, I found support, kindness and love. I will no longer allow anyone in my life to act without accountability. I will no longer make myself smaller and stay silent because silence fucking kills. Breaking the cycle of being a victim starts with speaking up. Darkness cannot exist within the light. 16.01.2022 What are you reading now? Im head over heels for Alannah Hills new memoir, Butterfly on a Pin. I remember in my early twenties, I would fly into Sydney each week to show the fashion editors and media assistants our suitcases full of treasures and trinkets. ... I would always make way into the Alannah Hill bow-teek and hide out for over an hour, playing dress ups in the frills and the sparkles. It was kind of like an escape from life and reality for a passing moment. I remember saving up $400 to buy an Alannah Hill skirt and I felt like a princess every time I wore it. My mother thought I was ridiculous and elaborate for spending more than my weeks rent on a skirt, which made me love it even more. I still have it in my wardrobe today. There are parts of this story that are all too familiar to me and learning more about Alannas adventures, I kind of get why I found her work so magical and why dressing up was such an outlet for me. 11.01.2022 A bit of chill time to reground and reboot.... its sooooooo needed this week. Ive swapped my latte for this incredible juice from Wild Canary and it was the best decision of my day! I forget whats in it, but its a brilliant combo. It can be really difficult to switch off in business, especially when youre in a stage of growth and you have a lot of opportunities showing up. ... 08.01.2022 Are you too much? This is a label thats been applied to me my whole life. When I was a child, it made me feel like I was different, like there was something wrong with me. ... All the things that made me delightfully happy were always too much of something or another for someone else. When I was about 5yo, I had a dress which I never took off. It had lace trimmed edges, multiple layers and was coloured in bright yellow sunflowers. My grandmother kept reminding me that it was too fancy to wear around the house or to the corner store, I wore it religiously regardless. In relationships, Its been continuously brought to my attention that I am too loud, too opinionated, too absorbed in the things I love, I get too excited over things, too withdrawn at times, too difficult and generally too much of everything that keeps others feeling comfortable. Its taken me over 3 decades to realise that all of the things that I am too much of for other people are exactly the things that light me up and make me who I am. So really, fuck those who need you to become smaller because they consider too much such an uncomfortable place to be in. Jessie Larcombe

Does this relationship bring joy? Am I being respected? Is this a person that is kind? Do I feel loved? Does this person respect my boundaries? These can be difficult questions to ask yourself and even harder answers to swallow, especially when people in your life fall short of the requirements of a healthy, loving relationship. Personal boundaries exist for a reason. They allow you to draw a line in the sand to keep the bad people out and keep space for all the good people in your life. 03.01.2022 C O M M U N I T Y Thank you so much to all the mamas who came to our Bubs and Business, "Creating A Community" event at Westfield Helensvale yesterday. We had the privilege of having the beautiful Nikki McCahon from Mama Tribe share her experience and abundance of knowledge on creating a community with us. This was hands down the most inspiring, honest and valuable talk on this topic that Ive heard to date and we feel sooooo honoured to have had the opportunity to learn ...from such a gorgeous, kind mama who is here to make a really big difference to mothers all over Australia. It was such a FUN day and I think we managed to pack in soooo much incredible information into the two hours. Thank you so much to everyone who came along.
