16.01.2022 This is important: we've had reports that certain venues are sending out emails and other messages asking musicians to play for free. This is not on. While ever...yone is struggling to get through the crisis and all attempts to get music and businesses up and running again are welcome, we have to make the point that musicians need to be treated the same as all workers: if a venue is opening, serving drinks and food, they'll be paying staff. If they also want to put on safe gigs, the musicians deserve to be paid a fair fee. Musicians Australia members have a simple and fair plan to fix the music industry: fees for all gigs; make gigs safe; and no undercutting. www.musiciansaustralia.org.au
