23.01.2022 With Covid we foudn out that home schooling was a good fit for our 16 year old son, so we are continuing with it. He does his work online and sends it in for feedback. This is a copy of his checkpoint for a maths assignment (it involves making paper planes!). The only feedback his teacher had was to not include this point. I have no idea why???? bahahha
22.01.2022 It's a family thing Welcome to the S.E.S family lil bro! This is a post from my daughter last night congratulating her little brother and I was so proud of both my gorgeous children and what they bring to their community that I just had to share. My son has been waiting impatiently for his 16th birthday so he could join the Herberton Auxillary Fire Fighters and the SES cadets. His birthday was on Sunday and he was so proud to come home last night with his SES unifo...rm. Gaby was a SES cadet when she was a teenager and is now a grown up SES volunteer. There are so many ways we can contribute to our communities - whether it be volunteering at the local animal shelter, coaching at a sports club or being on a committee. Volunteers are what make our community vibrant and functioning! Thank a volunteer today - and if that is you - THANK YOU! Comment and share with us what you do or have done - At the end of next week - one will be randomly picked for a free coffee and cake to the value of $10. :) Continue being awesome peeps! Lee x :)

20.01.2022 Good Morning Love - Lee fans! We have some #happysad news to share. You might have noticed a few posts recently with items for sale and wondered what we are up to. We are pivoting! Watch us thrive!! ... Scott and I have been reflecting over the past few months about our business. Taking a step back during COVID has allowed us to take the time and talk about what we love about what we do. We have both come to the conclusion that our food manufacturing (our popular granola, crackers, jams, nuts, gluten free bread etc etc) and catering is what makes our heart sing. We have loved having the cafe, and seeing our wonderful customers daily, but it left us with little time to grow and build on what we love doing the most. So....it is back home we go! We have a fully licensed commercial kitchen at home, as well as our food van. You'll catch us out and about at the markets again in the coming months. We've even started planning all the changes to our website to ensure that you can order our products easily online. Watch this space! Sometimes 'a step back' is a step in the right direction. This will be our last weekend in the cafe, we have a busy week next week with catering, so it seemed like the perfect time <3

12.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I am reaching out in the hope that you can support The Barron Valley Hotel in hosting a fundraising dinner for the Royal Flying Doctors and our be...loved family member, Rob Turner. We plan to hold a ticketed degustation dinner on the 12th of November with an auction on the night to raise funds. 100% of the proceeds will be split between the RFDS and the Turner Family. For those who do not know, last Thursday 24th September Rob suffered a rare bleed on the brain and was airlifted by the Royal Flying Doctors to Townsville hospital for emergency treatment. Rob was stabilised, but he remains in intensive care and will eventually undergo brain surgery, facing a long rehabilitation. Rob is husband to Gabriel and father to Estelle (5), Frankie (3) and Otis (9 months). Rob and Gabrielle run a small, family-owned construction company and their business cannot operate while Rob is unwell. Gabrielle now cares for Rob and their children around the clock. The future of this beautiful family is now uncertain. Gabrielle and the kids have relocated from the Atherton Tablelands too Townsville to be by his side, and face hefty accommodation and living costs while they are there. How you can help? We are looking for items to auction on the evening of 12th November. So far, we have: - Two Masuri cricket helmets, signed by Alex Carey (Donated by Masuri - special thanks to Ryan Charrington) - Signed Cowboy jersey (Donated by Lion - special thanks to Sean Johnson) - Signed Red’s jersey (Donated by Lion - special thanks to Sean Johnson) If you can source anything that we could possibly auction, we would be very grateful. Please feel free to forward this onto other businesses on the Tablelands who may be interested in getting behind the cause. Thanks all, The Nasser Family

We are so sorry. ... We will be back with a fresh team on Wednesday. Have a beautiful day. Team Love-Lee x

11.01.2022 A HUGE shout out to the TRC Disaster Management team and Sarah Dean for facilitating FREE community First Aid and Psycological First Aid training courses. A big thanks also to the people who did these - these are your community members who stood up and volunteered to do these courses so that the skills they have learnt can be used in the wider community - YOUR community! TRC and the Disaster Management Team are busy working quietly behind the scenes getting things ready f...or if we experience a disaster or event. Quick implementation of support and skills will make the difference to the recovery and containment of a situation. So grateful to have such a proactive team making sure that we are safe! THANK YOU!!!
