It was great to be back out sharing our love of reptiles, and it was great to see how easily the animals resumed to handling as well. ... Forced removal of this species involves loud noises and smoke to scare these animals away from their home outside of their normal hours for flight. This is highly stressful and currently expecting flying fox mothers are at risk of miscarrying their babies. ... These animals play a vital role in the ecosystem for pollination, and deserve to be properly protected !

19.01.2022 Heading into Easter weekend there are sustainable habits we can all take on to make sure our environment doesn't come off second best. Alot of aluminium foil can be recycled, but in order for it to be recognised and seperated at recycling plants, it needs to be a reasonable size, not fragments. Bundle your Easter egg wrapping together to avoid landfill, and remember...the more eggs you eat, the easier it'll be for machines to recognise all that foil.

06.01.2022 Today has been a great day! We had four families we visited for parties. One we met two years ago and still remembered the names of our reptiles, another for a young girl who aspires to be the next Bindi Irwin, a young boy with a passion for pythons and another family who said they chose our company because they could tell how much we loved our animals. We are so appreciative of the kind things people have to say, and more than anything, it's so important to us that people... know these animals are adored. We will be following advice from health officials very closely, but at present, it remains business as usual here at Love Me Like A Reptile. We actively encourage those attending our shows to follow hygiene routines, distancing where possible and to avoid eating, touching faces etc during animal handling at our shows. ... Should you have any questions about an upcoming public event or booking, please do not hesitate to contact us. At this point in time, there is NO evidence to suggest this virus can be spread from pets to humans. If you have been unwell, or around someone who has been, we ask for you to not attend our shows for the safety of our staff, and others in attendance. We will keep you updated with our movements but hope that in this stressful time, our shows can still run and bring some positivity into people's lives when things can appear quite bleak. We extend our gratitude to those who are continuing to support us as a small business. It really means alot to see our customers thinking of us during this difficult time. 02.01.2022 Nelly is an Olive Python. She is a recent addition to Love Me Like A Reptile, and we are looking forward to the time when we can debut her at a public show. Olive pythons are Australia's second largest snake species, next to the Amethystine ( scrub ) python. They can reach lengths of up to four metres, and are native to Western Australia, the Northern territory and Queensland. ... Despite their sometimes intimidating size, you will see many private zoos using olive pythons in educational displays. Of course there are exceptions to any rule, but by and large these animals are affectionately known as the gentle giants of the reptile hobby.
