25.01.2022 Happy Easter long weekend! We hope you enjoy some time off with family and friends

25.01.2022 Change Makers since the very beginning, Kash and Jen have been giving to Love Mercy for 10 years The last decade has seen their family grow, and no doubt other significant life changes, but they’re giving has remained consistent and for this we are so grateful.

25.01.2022 Love Mercy exists to empower communities in Northern Uganda to overcome poverty caused by the horrors of war. Our hope is to one day see northern Uganda transformed out of poverty by increasing access to healthcare, clean water, food security and income generation for entire communities

25.01.2022 Meet Rose Alunga, she joined Cents for Seeds in 2011 and was a member of the first village to graduate the program! The project is reducing my everyday expenses like food and is covering the costs of the rest, like my children’s medical bills. I only request that you continue to run the program so that we can continue to fight our challenges.

22.01.2022 Well Worth It is a well drilling water project that came out of our Impact studies in Cents for Seeds Through our fantastic team on the ground, communities in northern Uganda are provided access to clean water - something that they may not have not had before. Women and children walk anywhere from 5 10kms to collect their water 3 times per day. Often, the water isn’t even clean. With roughly 500 people using each well, setting your fundraising goal to build one is a great way to have HUGE impact

22.01.2022 Gifting someone in your life with the paid wages for a month of a midwife in rural northern Uganda is to give the gift of new life. It means she can continue to provide safe and skilled birthing assistance to our expectant mothers at the Kristina Health Centre in the remote district of Otuke. Your gift will help deliver many happy, healthy bubs! Click the following link for more information. https://www.lovemercyfoundation.org//gift-card-midwife-w/

22.01.2022 The Horse are still giving $10 from every watch sold to Love Mercy AND they have 25% off storewide currently Now’s the time! Head to the following link to buy your very own... https://www.thehorse.com.au

21.01.2022 If you’re asking yourself what am I looking at? - Let us help you out What you’re seeing here is the weighing and distributing of seeds for the Cents for Seeds project, a heavily manual process that takes time and attention. Distribution days can be long to ensure hundreds of women receive their seeds, but the end results are so so worth it.

20.01.2022 Over the last week, the team in Uganda have been training more villages to take part in the Village Savings and Loans Association program. Attendees were attentive and excited to get started, grateful for the training and resources they were given to do so! VSLA is not made exclusive to the Cents for Seeds women and is instead opened up to the entire community for the most impact

20.01.2022 "In Uganda, it was predicted that by September, there would be 600,000 cases of Covid-19 and 30,000 deaths. But the reality is starkly different." A great read if you're looking to find out how Africa, and Uganda specifically, is faring with the coronavirus pandemic! http://ow.ly/fdWm50BES3H

20.01.2022 Adongo Patricia and her new bub, born at the Kristina Health Centre just 11 hours before this photo was taken Spot the Coux Lifestyle wrap that our team was able to gift Patricia!

19.01.2022 Happy 5 year anniversary to our friends over at Wanderers Travel Co! Congratulations on all the accomplishments over the years and all your support of Love Mercy projects

19.01.2022 During this last week, our team on the ground carried out Village Savings and Loans Association training for a village in Ogwete. Putting the group into smaller teams, Love Mercy staff also gave out their boxes, locks and stationary, all of which they need to track the savings and interest. For these people and their families, it's the start of something exciting!

17.01.2022 You're running out of time to buy your very own @the_horse timepiece (like what we did there? ) 1 day left to purchase a watch with $10 from every one sold going towards Love Mercy’s projects Head to the following link, we’re sure you’ll find one you love! https://www.thehorse.com.au/

17.01.2022 According to the International Institute for Environment and Development, up to US$360 million has been spent building rural wells in Africa that now no longer work (equates to approx. 50,000 wells). If funding an entire well isn’t an option, repairing an already built but no longer functioning one for $250 is another way to support rural communities. Head to the following link for more info https://www.lovemercyfoundation.org/causes/well-worth-it/

17.01.2022 Tomorrow, the 78 Challenge begins! The team of fundraisers are still moving towards their goal so get behind them and support all their hard work! Link on our profile. #78challenge

16.01.2022 A big thank you to Crowthers Coaches who funded the construction of an entire well in Northern Uganda! On average 500 people will use one well, and with the Love Mercy maintenance team on the job the well will stand and supply clean water for years to come Businesses, particularly small family owned ones, are doing it tough at the moment so to still receive their support is something we are very grateful for. You can read an article on the impact of the Crowther's well here... http://ow.ly/mpDj50Bt8E5

16.01.2022 Tomorrow night! A free, virtual event with Olympic Athletes Julius Achon and Eloise Wellings, see you there

15.01.2022 Happy World Health Day The Kristina Health Centre treats on average 550 people per month, offering offers services including maternity care, immunisations, HIV testing and the general care ward. Every year, the KHC cares for thousands of patients and reaches new goals, thankyou for your support of our little health centre in rural northern Uganda. #worldhealthday

15.01.2022 CEO @caityann planning out her 7.8 hours of yoga across the whole weekend! Our team of fundraisers are getting ready to take on their 78 challenges, and there’s still time for you to support them! Link on our profile

15.01.2022 The Kristina Health Centre is a medical facility in Northern Uganda which opened in 2012 to service the local communities. Previously, the nearest access to medical treatment was Lira Hospital, 72km away. Offering a range of services, the KHC has committed, hardworking staff (some of which are pictured) who are trained and qualified to offer the best possible care

14.01.2022 Our $50 birthing kit is a gift that ensures the safe birth of a newborn in rural Northern Uganda It includes the medication and equipment that midwifes need to bring a new bub into the world. This gift card is a great option for a midwife, nurse, mother, grandmother, or expecting mother that you know. Or even just someone who appreciates the safe birth of newborns in rural Africa Click the following link for more information. https://www.lovemercyfoundation.org//50-gift-card-birthi/

14.01.2022 Cents for Seeds is a micro-loan project running in Northern Uganda Uganda is home to some of the most fertile land in the world, however, in the years following the war, the people did not have anything to farm with. This year, Cents for Seeds will reach 17,800 women, empowering them to be lifted out of poverty. A woman can harvest anywhere from 150-300 kilos from her initial loan, providing for her family for the rest of the year

12.01.2022 Was working to make a difference in the world a resolution of yours this year? Our giving community are a group of people who give $30 a month, funding 30kg seed loans for 12 women over the course of a year Food, education, developed savings and overall development of empowerment are just some of the things women and their families take away from Cents for Seeds, will you help give women this opportunity? Click the following link! https://www.lovemercyfoundation.org/the-change-makers/

12.01.2022 Here’s a quick refresher of our projects on the ground in Uganda Cents for Seeds is a micro-loan project running in northern Uganda. Uganda is home to some of the most fertile land in the world, however, in the years following the war, the people did not have anything to farm with. Beginning in 2010 with just 100 women, Cents for Seeds has reached 17,800 in 2020.

12.01.2022 The 78 Challenge is just 2 days away! Our fundraisers have decided on their 78 Challenge, worked hard and fundraised for Love Mercy's programs. This includes the Well Worth It program which works to bring clean water to rural communities that previously would be walking many kms a day to get what was generally unclean water. This year we've been able to build upwards of 10 wells, and with the support of the 78 Challenge, we hope to work towards more!

12.01.2022 The Uganda team sent through this picture, how great is this hand washing station?! It has pedals on the ground that operate the soap and water outlets, encouraging less contact with the station itself and therefore slowing the spread of coronavirus. With hand washing being the first form of defence against virus' like coronavirus, it’s options like this that will work to keep people safe.

12.01.2022 So what’s the plan for Cents for Seeds this year? The goal is to support 18,000 women in the program and to support new income generating activities to build resilience. Currently, the Village, Savings and Loans Association program is in place and has been successful with many communities so we anticipate new programs will bring new opportunities

11.01.2022 Looking for a new read this new year? Can we recommend Julius’ book The Boy Who Runs? It tells an empowering tale of obstacles overcome, challenges met, and light wrested from darkness. 10.01.2022 Our monthly giving community is made up of some pretty incredible people, like Janelle and Michael

09.01.2022 Over the last year, the Kristina Health Centre has seen the safe arrival of 193 newborns This is an incredible feat and would never have been possible without the outstanding care and hard work that our midwives provide. Next year, building the capacity and the services of the maternity ward is one of Love Mercy’s priorities, supporting our staff in the process

08.01.2022 It’s getting hot down here at the track as Ian hits kilometre 44 of 78. Averaging just under 4 min k’s with 4 mins of rest between each KM. Featuring support crew Tilly & Eion in change over for 78 x 100m sets. Show them some support through the link in our profile

07.01.2022 A decrease in income for local families has resulted in a decline in the number of expecting mothers attending the Kristina Health Centre to give birth. In an effort to encourage pregnant women to attend the KHC instead of facing the risks of an at home delivery, the Centre is going to reduce local costs. Mums will also receive a small care packages including a bar of soap and a singlet for their new bub. If you would like to give to support the clinic offering these vital services to the expectant mums of the Otuke district, go to the following link. Any amount can help. https://www.lovemercyfoundation.org//kristina-health-cent/
