25.01.2022 this is the top layer of a four-tier cake I made for my favourite clients; vanilla sponge with lemon and rhubarb drizzle, lemon curd, chantilly cream, fresh raspberries and candied rhubarb. Its been a while since Ive baked/posted, but now it seems that the challenges of the last few years, and caring for my beloved Mama are ended, I can begin to explore what creativity means. Its said that nature abhors a vacuum, and it seems to me that the same can be said of life...were so busy filling every waking moment that theres no room, or time for a vacuum. And yet, without these empty moments, how do we open ourselves up to possibility, and fresh energy, and lifes force itself? I consider myself very fortunate to be able to choose a vacuum, and to see what comes along to fill it...whatever happens, therell always be cake...

21.01.2022 after a lot of dust, accumulated grime and endless patience on the part of a very clever builder (everythings wonky in this old house) I am very pleased to welcome you to our new space; once it was the mud-room, now its an elegant, welcoming entrance...Our house has been perched high on the hill for almost 130 years and had many incarnations, this is possibly my favourite...
