22.01.2022 This afternoon Paul Toole snuck into town without telling the public and held a secret press conference with Dugald Saunders in the last session for the RMS sho...p front on Macquarie Street. Members of the public found out they were there only because they wandered past. The pollies were acting tough to overcome the embarrassment of having their propaganda campaign become a big failure with loads of people telling them the River St Bridge is a stupid idea. The minister did not want to speak to the public and face the backlash but Karina McLachlain, Alan Nelson and Mick Etheridge had the courage to move past the minders to tell him how the River St Bridge would be a disaster and Dubbos choice is Troy Bridge Road and a bypass. RMS boss Alistair Lund was misleading the public (again) by claiming that Dubbo Regional Council does not support Troy Bridge Road. Karina read out a statement made by Ben Shields in an email to President of the Dubbo Ratepayers Association which included the following quotes: "It is councils position that the ring road, preferably Troy Bridge high level is councils preferred option for a new crossing of the Macquarie River". "This is a formal policy of council that was adopted unanimously by councillors". Alistair Lund saw the email and Ben Shields signature. It was surprising how little Paul Toole knew about the problems that the River St Bridge would cause and he did not realise the amount of support that the Troy Bridge proposal had from the Aboriginal elders, the transport industry, the residents, the council etc. Its about time that he and Dugald Saunders listened instead of wrapping themselves in a fantasy land bubble.

01.01.2022 The Dubbo Woodturners & Woodcraft Club Christmas Party was well attended on Sunday at the Buncha. This year has seen a good increase in new members at the Wednesday night session. The club has also had a big increase in females members who Charlie likes to call the Charlies Angels. Missing from the photo are Peter, who was unfortunately ill, Dieter, Gary, Ann Marie who had last minute babysitting duties and Karina (photographer).

01.01.2022 AUGUST UPDATE: Due to high attendance on Wednesday nights (and people unable to maintain proper social distancing) and the Covid risk increasing once again, Wednesday nights have been cancelled for the next 4-6 weeks until the risk of Covid in the community can be reassessed. The Wednesday morning workshop (8am-12 noon) is still open and running.
