17.01.2022 Weve hit $6k in just 48 hours. You people are too good! Thank you. Weve lifted the objective to $12k. A huge ask, but best to aim high ... We have some n...ews to share regarding Aunty Di. The surgeons at St Vincents did some amazing work last Monday, and they feel they were able to remove most if not all of the tumour. The family thanks all those involved, in particular, John Daffy who helped guide Di and the immediate family through the process. Attached is a photo post surgery - Di looks a million dollars for someone who just had a major operation - such great skills from the surgeons and team. But, some less positive news arrived on Thursday, just as we launched Riding for Retta, fighting brain cancer, and you guys were piling into this great cause. Di was told the cancer is a Glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer. Dad reminded me on Thursday that Mum had the same brain cancer. What are the chances eh! But, Di continues to be positive, and is up for the challenge. I just spoke with her and she is now in Warrnambool and is ready "to do my best" through the next stages of treatment. She talked about how lucky she is, talking about others she had met in Melbourne that seemed to be having a tougher time than her - what a girl In addition to the recent photo, here are a couple of photos from the past. Look at a young Di and Denis Denis Daffy Racing Stables - what a good looking couple. And another with Dad and mum, at a christening (I think).
