22.01.2022 **ALERT** Be on the lookout for megaoesophagus as the alert is raised about a potential link to food. PetFAST, a joint initiative of the AVA and PFIAA, have advised that a number of megaoesphagus cases in dogs are being investigated for a possible link to pet food. Owners are encouraged to be aware of the signs of megaoesophagus and seek veterinary attention if identified. At this stage, the investigation is ongoing. However, there has been a voluntary recall by Veganpet of one batch of their dry dog food, batch no. 02026021. For full details, visit the Veganpet Website: https://veganpet.com.au/

18.01.2022 Just a little reminder to be mindful and vigilant in your supervision of dogs and puppies around children always. Better safe than not. We love our pets and they love us, but it only takes a spilt second to startle a pup and it’s their natural instinct to protect themselves. Good supervision and good socialisation/training is paramount. https://www.facebook.com/aimee.gilbert.73/posts/10158448526726285

12.01.2022 Getting ready for a lazy weekend.. can someone pass the remote please

08.01.2022 Really important to be mindful of... Have you considered what happens to those facemasks we dispose of? Please be sure to break/cut the ear loops of your facemasks when disposing of them, and help keep our wildlife safe from strangulation and becoming tangled

07.01.2022 As New Years Eve approaches, we need to consider the noise, excitement and extra people around can all be a bit overwhelming for our pets. Here are a few handy hints to keep our pets safe and calm on this exciting night of the year! *Take your dog out for some vigorous exercise during the day, so it is tired and does not have a lot of pent up energy. *Before the fireworks and parties begin give your dogs their evening meal, a full tummy also makes them happy and more sleepy!... *The best place for your dogs on a night filled with loud noises from fireworks and parties is indoors in a quiet place. *Let your dogs hide if they want to. *Distract your pet with their favourite toys and games BUT DON’T reward any anxious behaviour by fussing, giving them treats or hugging them. Staying happy and in control lets them know everything is okay. *Leave the TV or radio on as it can drown out some of the loud noises. *Just to be safe, make sure your dog has all its ID tags on just in case it somehow does escape so they can be identified and returned quickly. 03.01.2022 How are your pets teeth looking? It might be time for a dental check or teeth clean! Good oral hygiene = good inner health for your pet. Contact Tonia for more information about your pets dental health.

03.01.2022 HAPPY HALLOWEEN From the Loving Care Mobile Vet Team ... Be mindful of hazards to pets while celebrating this occasion. Sweets (containing xylitol), nuts and raisins, open flames, wrappers/decorations can all be dangerous to our fur-babies.

02.01.2022 Remember NO Christmas ham or Christmas pudding for our fur babies; while delicious for us they can make our pets very ill.
