21.01.2022 THERE’S A NEW SHOWJUMPER ON COURSE Shirley’s paddock mates used to laugh at her dreams of becoming a showjumper. They USED to. [thanks to our friends at Beloka Kelpie Stud for this great clip!]

20.01.2022 The first record of black cattle imported into Australia was of 8 black cattle that were unloaded at the Hobart Town docks in Tasmania on the 20th January 1824. These cattle were taken to a property near Bothwell. They were regarded by early writers as the first cattle to come to Australia of a type similar to those that formed the Angus breed in the following 60 years. The genes of these early cattle that arrived at the Hobart Town docks remain in many Angus herds today-2019 Angus Australia

03.01.2022 On the top we have a Shorthorn Cow with a dominant throw back to her white Shorthorn side where's on the bottom we have a Shorthorn cow with a dominant throw towards Hereford. both are examples of the breed which has become popular over the years due to its meat and milk qualities. This cross has proved itself on our farm with not only temperament but also production.

01.01.2022 One of our Hereford Steers, a breed which we have always been fond of for not only their temperament in the yards but also meat qualities. They are a hardy breed and do well in the hilly country. The breed is well suited to all markets, being essentially medium-sized and of medium maturity. The breed produces a range of carcases from vealers and yearlings to steers and bullocks, depending on the genotype, feeding and management. Recent imports of larger framed, later maturing strains of the breed make it even more versatile.-NSW Department of Industry
