22.01.2022 The adverse weather conditions and torrential rain activity is impacting on our schools in a variety of ways including staffing, transport and road closures. The safety and wellbeing of students and staff is our top priority. The Department is liaising closely with State Emergency Service to monitor weather conditions.... Our school is operational and will remain open however, conditions are being monitored. We understand families will make decisions based on these emerging and changing weather conditions in relation to attending school. If and when the situation changes we will communicate this as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Harmonie Dal-Bon Principal

17.01.2022 Dear parents We want to offer families more flexibility with their work commitments and child care arrangements and to create more opportunities across the whole community. Having Out of School Hours Care available at local schools is a great way to achieve this. As part of the NSW Government’s $120 million Before and After School Care (BASC) commitment, parents at all NSW schools were recently invited to complete a Have Your Say survey. The survey asked parents to tell us ho...w they are using Out of School Hours Care, how much it costs them, whether they plan to keep using it, and what difficulties they experience in accessing it. The survey results have helped us to better understand the needs of families and what’s important to them. We are now asking all parents to complete a quick follow-up survey by Friday 27 November 2020. You can access the survey at https://surveys.education.nsw.gov.au/s3/OSHCParentSurvey. This information will help us to target the rollout of more before Out of School Hours Care services in the right areas If your child does not require Out of School Hours care, we ask that you please still complete the first section of this survey as it gives us important information about the level of demand at your school. https://surveys.education.nsw.gov.au/s3/OSHCParentSurvey

16.01.2022 On Friday we had the privilege of listening to Uncle Mark and some members of the RFS. They talked about how they are helping with the recovery from last years bushfire. The council donated some animal nesting boxes and helped us put them together. These nesting boxes will hopefully house birds and wildlife that lost homes in the bushfire.

05.01.2022 Thanks Bec. Our library is ready for some serious borrowing! Books have been levelled to match our Accerlated Reading program. Students have completed assessments that give teachers data about where they are and what they need in order to improve in their reading and comprehension. Ongoing assessments track student progress so we can celebrate their individual successes and share with parents. We love learning at Lowanna!
