25.01.2022 For 18 months the Australian youth arts sector has been raising concerns that changes to arts funding would be devastating unless care was taken to support the professional theatre industry's smallest companies. Now we see it has played out exactly as predicted. A few larger companies get through while the vast majority fall to the wayside. The majority of Australia's youth arts sector has been defunded from 2016. It is a very dark time for Australian arts. 15.01.2022 Dear Lowdown readers and colleagues, As the Lowdown program draws to a close and Carclew endeavors to find the publication a new home, it is with great sadness that I announce my resignation as Lowdown Editor. The past five years with Lowdown has been an incredible and rewarding experience. I sincerely thank all who I have worked with over this time for their passion, dedication and inspiration.
