23.01.2022 Smokey morning didn't stop these legends getting out on the river this morning! Sarah & Emma had top balance to keep the double upright, while Kylie mastered her single! Awesome having Chris & Tess there as a support crew...Tess also assisted with the coaching and kept Harold in line #clarenceriver #rowing #smashinggoals #lowerclarencerowingclub #girlpower @lower_clarence_rowing_club @emi_noakes @ Maclean Riverbank

18.01.2022 A high level of comraderies among the crew of LCRC on and off the water makes it all worthwhile. Finished with some great results at the GRC regatta with Mandy and Clare taking 1st and 2nd place for WMHcp single scull and together won the WMHcp double scull. For majority of the races to throughout the day everyone finished in 2nd place. Cody Hamel in the men's novice single scull.... Lachlan Maxwell claimed three 2nd places and won the Open singles scull as well as with Royce McIntyre in Men's HCP double. Royce and Zayn also finished 2nd in the MU17 double scull. Molly Robin finished with three 2nds one in WU17 single scull and then with Ashley Luland in Women's open double scull and also with Molly Dungey from GRC in WMU17 double. Zayne Fischer finished a credible 3rd in MU17 single scull at the end of the day. Big thank you to John Nilon for towing the trailer, to Keryn Saunders as a BRO in the tinny ensuring our safety and to all the helpers in the bank.

05.01.2022 And that's a wrap! Last weekend saw our rowers compete at the last NRRA club regatta for the season. Please see below for a detailed report from the club president, Clare Millist. Thanks to Jo Luland for the snaps! 'A small crew of Lower Clarence rowers travelled to Murwillumbah for last two regattas of the season. Five of our junior rowers enjoyed a successful day on the Saturday competing in the NRRA AGED Championship. Lachlan Maxwell and Royce McIntrye won the gold med...al in the MU19/21 double scull. Lachlan also won bronze in the MU19/21 single scull. As the other competitor in Royce’s MU17 single scratched he had to do a row over to be able to claim the gold medal. Ashley Luland rowed well to win the silver medal in the WU19/21 single scull. Ashley teamed up with Niamh Hopkins and won silver in the WU19/21 double scull. In the WU17 double scull Ruby Chamberlain and Niamh Hopkins finished 2nd in their heat which put them into the final where they finish 4th. Ruby rowed well to come 3rd in her heat of the WU17 single scull but sadly only the first two went through to final. Next day Tweed Rowing Club held their annual regatta, this time four master rowers competed as well. Mandy Steel started the day off by winning her division of the WMHcp single scull. Mandy and Clare Millist had a great row to hold off a younger crew and win the WMHcp double scull. In the WMHcp quad Keryn Saunders, Mandy Steel, Joanne Meehan and Clare Millist finish 3rd. Clare and Joanne joined the Gold Coast Master Rowers 8 crew to win gold. Ashley Luland and Aimee Jeffrey had a good day in their doubles finishing 2nd in their division of the Whcp double scull and 3rd in the WO double scull. Niamh Hopkins and Grace Johnson also had a good day together coming 2nd in the WU17 double and 3rd in the Whcp double. Lachlan Maxwell finished 2nd in the MO double scull with Royce McIntyre and was 2nd in the MHcp double with Zayne Fischer. Lachlan was 3rd in the MO single scull. Royce and Zayne had a great battle for the minor placings in the MU17 single scull with Royce finishing 2nd and Zayne 3rd. Zayne was also 3rd in the Mhcp single. Well done everyone. As this is the last report for the season I would like to thank Keryn Saunders, Bert Chamberlain and Mike Samms for towing the trailer. Thank you Keryn for her time given to BROing at most regattas and to our other BROs who helped when they could. A big thank you to the coaches for the time they give to coaching and to the parents for their help throughout the season. Thank you to our major sponsors Mareeba and Maclean Services’s Club for their continuing support and interest in the club.'
02.01.2022 Happy Australia Day from all of us at LCRC, but particularly from Hazza!
