Helen Morgan is a Blue Mountains local, hobby artist and art therapy student who is passionate about sharing creative activities and hobbies to bring people and community together. Helen’s new drawing group is designed to give adults a space to Create, Make, Draw, Learn & Chat about Art and will be held from 8-9pm on Wednesday Evenings via Zoom, supported by Belong Blue Mountains. Do you worry about how they will be impacted by the uncertainty and anxiety that bushfire season can bring? There are things you can do to help practically and emotionally prepare you child for bushfire season and build their capacity for resilience if anything should happen. We are holding two information sessions to help you and your family be as prepared as you can ...be this year. The first session will be in Katoomba this Saturday and the second session will be held online next Thursday. Please join us with representatives from the Katoomba-Leura RFS, Gateway Family Services Step-by-Step Recovery Program and MOCS to learn more about bushfire preparedness and resilience and to discuss your concerns. We must ask to you REGISTER ONLINE to help us manage the sessions in a COVID-Safe way. Registrations for this Saturday’s Katoomba session will close on Wednesday 14th October. 19.01.2022 To celebrate carers and recognise the significant contribution carers make each and every day, Carers NSW is hosting a range of online wellbeing workshops and webinars during National Carers Week, 11 17 October 2020. Unfortunately due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to hold our usual in-person events this year. Carers from across NSW are invited to join a range of free online webinars and self-care and wellbeing workshops for carers during Carers Week 2020. ...Workshops will include mindfulness meditation, tai chi, strength and balance and an art workshop which will be available online through Zoom conferencing for carers across NSW. Webinar sessions will include a carer panel discussion with television and news presenter Georgie Gardner, a Carers + Employers webinar for developing carer friendly workplaces and other webinars during the week to raise awareness of the incredible work carers do. A special musical performance, as a thank you to carers by Miriam Lieberman and her trio on the Friday afternoon is not to be missed. Sessions are delivered using the Zoom conferencing. 03.01.2022 Congratulations to the Katoomba High Year 8 Ceramics Class for being awarded the BMCC Overall Visual Art Prize at the Blue Fringe Art & Literature Awards 2020. This is the first time a Youth entry has won the overall prize in Blue Fringe. It has been a year of many firsts!
