22.01.2022 WARNING! We are seeing Signs of more spinal deconditioning than ever before! Excessive screen time but also time away from regular sports has meant that lots of adolescents are showing signs of poor posture and spinal health.... 1. Try the super man exercise; hold for 30-60 seconds and repeat 3 times. Most of you will know that I often recommend this exercise in practice because it not only supports extension tone like superman, but it also is excellent for strengthening the core. 2. Simply start on all fours, activate your core, then very slowly lift opposite arm and leg WITHOUT moving or swaying or tilting through your body. Hold for 20sec and then slowly lower them, then swap! If it is too hard to do both at once, simply start with raising on arm or raising one leg while keeping the rest of the body completely still. Let me know how you go!

07.01.2022 To our patients and families, In this challenging situation we wanted to take the time to let you know how much we value both your health, and that of our team. We are doing our part in trying to limit the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19) to you and your families, our staff and their families, and our community in general.... We kindly ask that if you have travelled overseas and have recently returned within the past two weeks, or will soon be returning, that you follow the current advice from health authorities and self isolate for 14 days before coming in for your next adjustment. For those that havent travelled, we respect your decision during this time to do what you feel is necessary to keep both yourself and your family safe. We ask that you do reschedule your upcoming adjustment at the clinic if you or any other family member has cold/flu-type symptoms including: coughs, sore throat, fever or runny nose . Please let reception know as soon as possible so that we can amend your appointment. Of course late cancellation fees will be waived on the first day if you develop symptoms within the late cancellation period. As a health service, we are following high standard hygiene practices every day as part of our usual routine that will assist with preventing the spread: Washing hands or using alcohol based hand sanitiser before and after every appointment Wiping down all used toys and treatment surfaces in our clinic rooms between every appointment Wiping down all surfaces in the waiting room at the end of each day. In addition to this, as of today we have introduced the following: Removal of all toys, books and magazines from our waiting area We will be asking all patients to clean their hands before and after their adjustments Our reception team are wiping down contact surfaces (benches, door handles, waiting room seats, eftpos terminals etc) regularly throughout the day At this stage our Clinic will not be closing and we will be continuing to support your health care. We will take advice from our Association and the Commonwealth and State Departments of Health and act on that advice. As always your health is our priority and we are watching the warnings as this situation unfolds. The Minister has also indicated that the Australian Government Department of Health is now developing full allied health telehealth options, along with other health and medical services, within the week. This will be part of a staged plan and he encourages providers to continue vital face-to-face services where possible. The ACA represents the chiropractic profession as a member of Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA), who are currently liaising with the Department of Health regarding this development and will be meeting with the Department shortly to discuss details for allied health items.
