22.01.2022 Cancellation of our 2020 season Hi FIDA Bears family, Hope this email finds everyone fit and well.... Thanks to the irresponsible attitude of some Victorian’s to follow Covid19 restrictions we find ourselves the only State with increasing Covid numbers and back in lock down. We have attended several Delegates meetings (via Zoom) and the discussions were continuing on how or if we would be able to resume safe training. FIDA had discussions and recommendations around restarting training following strict protocols, however, there was no decision or discussion around whether there would be any games. At the forefront of any decisions made by the management group is the safety and wellbeing of all of our players, their families and supports. After long discussions between the Bears Coaches and support staff we concluded that we were not prepared to recommence training and possibly put players and families at risk. We feel vindicated in our decision to cancel the 2020 season given the current return to Level 3 restrictions. Whilst we are in a holding pattern stay safe and practice good self-distancing, continue to stay fit by walking or running and stay connected with each other through Zoom etc. We are still hopeful that we may be able to organise a big get together near Christmas. 19.01.2022 We need some happy news in this time of crisis The Lower Plenty FIDA Football Club would like to Congratulate our premiership forward James Webb (Webby) and his partner Naomi on the safe arrival of baby boy Bailey Scott John Webb, he arrived on July 20th at 8.30 pm weighing 6 pound 5 and both Mum and Bub are well. Can see here in the photo big sisters Lacey and Codie are happy with their new baby brother.

19.01.2022 News from the government today everyone. As you all may of heard on the news today that there is a little ease on restrictions as of Wednesday May 13 You can see your mates group of 5 can visit homes 10 people in a outdoor gathering so you can see mates and kick a footy ... Social distancing 1.5 meters is still in Play We still can’t return to training yet but stay positive everyone it’s still to early to tell if we won’t get a season as it’s only May. Keep doing the right things and hopefully we will get awarded with footy soon.
