22.01.2022 TOMORROW (TUESDAY 18 August) around noon, the FOGHORN at the LOW HEAD LIGHTHOUSE will sound. Its been quite a while since the foghorn was heard performing its... usual Sundays at noon ritual, and the volunteers who make this happen have been busy doing necessary maintenance and making some adjustments in the down time. Parks and Wildlife has given approval for this Tuesdays sounding in order to test these out, and we trust that no-one is inconvenienced by this. If all goes according to plan, the Foghorn Sunday soundings will resume in September and the Low Head Pilot Station Maritime Museum MAY also be reopened to the public by the beginning of next month. The Pilot Station Support Group is meeting with Volunteers this Wednesday and more definite advice will be posted here following that.

22.01.2022 This lovely beach is ‘Pilot’s Bay’ and is just a stones throw from the Cottages of Low Head Pilot Station (pictured on the right). Perfect for families wanting to play on the sand and in the gently lapping water. The Pilots House and Schoolhouse properties are beachfront to the bay featuring beautiful water views. There are a couple of stone steps leading into the bay just outside the Pilots House and schoolhouse back gardens.
