16.01.2022 Although I haven't been face booking it.. life has been busy for the Bassets and us. It is the time for a lot of the agriculture shows in most of the small townships in Qld and we have been spending all weekends except a few attending these. William is starting to overtake Boris in the point score towards his Aust. Championship with a win as Best in Group and Junior in show recently at Eiddsvold.

14.01.2022 Busy week at Lowset Basset Kennels getting new fences erected for our only escape artist ... Molly. All of our dogs have done well at recent shows getting best of breed and junior dog in class. Well done Boris!!!!

14.01.2022 An extremely wet weekend! Bassets and water don't mix well at a championship show they tend not to take things seriously whether they are in or out of the ring. Lowset Lady Margaret aka Molly achieved Best of Breed at our local show in Gin Gin and received the bitch challenge at Maryborough today, still raining. Boris isn't doing so well at the moment but with plenty of encouragement this week and some intensive training (daughter suggested socializing him with more strangers), so it's out for coffee, wine and any other outside activity that we can participate in.

11.01.2022 A quiet day on the farm unless you count the voices of three male Bassets letting me and everyone else within a 5klm radius know that one of the girls is in season. I've tried to tell them that she has already been mated and they have missed out, as usual they have turned a deaf ear! Our little girl who will shortly become a Mum is already showing her maternal side and the extra care that she affords as an expectant Mum has already been initiated by yours truly, although I feel when G comes home he might protest at the fact we now have a Basset sleeping in our bed.

09.01.2022 It has been a long time since my last entry so I thought it was about time that I put fingers to keyboard and give you all an update on our small but select kennel (household) of Bassets. All of our pups have obtained their titles and all in their first 14-18 months. I have just received the Basset Hound Club of Queensland newsletter with some wonderful Basset recipes, just in time for their 2nd Birthday celebrations! So amongst other things I will be baking for their party M...itzi our dacshund loves organising these types of events or maybe it's the cleaning up of the mixing bowls? Lady Margaret aka Molly will be mated this month as well to a handsome young dog from the Ammidan Kennels called Andy so we are hopeful that from that mating we can start once again on the show circuit with even more wonderful Bassets. I promise to take a photo of the celebrations later this week and post them with a brief write up!!!! See more
