25.01.2022 Today we especially thank God as we honour the men and special people in our lives who are, and have been, our fathers. We pray that you all have a blessed day as you reflect and celebrate love given and shared. May you see the love poured into the gifts you are given, especially the hand made and hand written ones

25.01.2022 Glorious mud We thank God for the beautiful sunshine, the blessings of spring and the many opportunities to work cooperatively with each other.

25.01.2022 Look what arrived in time for our Ready for Reception night tomorrow. The children are going to look great in their shirts. Thanks Surf to Suit and Little Vibes for helping us out.

25.01.2022 Today the Yr 1’s were treated to a presentation from Karen who works for Landcare. She spoke about 10 reptiles that live in the Riverland and came armed with some cool models of them. The children learnt a lot about reptiles, some they had never even heard of.

25.01.2022 Students have enjoyed access to Dash robots for the past month, courtesy of the Computer Science Education Research Group. These robots are a way to learn block-based coding and problem solving within the Digital Technologies curriculum. The 3/4 class coded Dash to move forwards, left and right from a starting point to an end point. Students learnt to collaborate & communicate as they worked in pairs. Great job!

25.01.2022 What a beautiful morning we had for our Walk Safely to School Day! Students, teaching staff, parents and siblings walked from the stunning riverfront to school. Thank you to everyone involved.

24.01.2022 Check out our new bus!!! Our new BCI will service the Berri/Barmera area.

24.01.2022 The excitement is building around our annual school concert next week. The theme is Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth. It’ll look and feel a little different due to no audience being allowed, but rest assured it won’t take away from the quality of performances from the children and staff. This poster was designed by Jagger in Year 1.

23.01.2022 Over the past few weeks, we have been getting to know our 29 Reception children who will start their schooling at LLS in 2021. The children have been busy establishing relationships with staff and other children, familiarising themselves with the classrooms and school grounds, and learning some of the routines associated with school. They are so ready! We look forward to welcoming them back on the first day, next year.

22.01.2022 Well done to these ladies who sang so beautifully at the Riverland Music Festival performance on Thursday. A special shout out to Kiana (solo) and Trinity (compere) for their work in these special roles.

21.01.2022 2020 Fashions on the Field at LLS today as the staff dressed in ‘Op Shop Race Wear’.

21.01.2022 Hosanna to God in the Highest! Sunday was the beginning of Holy Week. As Christian’s we remember the significant events of the Bible, pivotal to our beliefs of Jesus being the ultimate saviour and redeemer. The Year 7’s and Reception Fielke/Yard spent Tuesday together, making Easter cookies and looking at the Easter story. A fantastic sharing of God’s love in every way. Many thanks to Mrs Hunter for helping us cook!

20.01.2022 Those in our school community will be aware that we are planning on building some new learning spaces and facilities here at LLS over coming years. Last Tuesday, the BGA Committee, who make decisions about where to allocate federal capital funding, came for a vist to our site. Whilst here, we took them for a tour of our school and talked to them about the first stage of our proposed project. Part of the group who led the tour and who answered questions from the committee were... our school captains. They did an excellent job and were praised by the BGA committee for their knowledge and professionalism. We were the only school that they had toured this year who had their captains involved. This image is of our captains holding a poster of a concept image of the first stage. We will know in May whether our application for support has been successful. See more

17.01.2022 As part of our Health unit this term, the Year 7’s have been investigating strategies and practices that enhance their own, others’ and community health, safety and well being. Today we had Lynley Seaman Nutritionist come and speak about health and we then cooked 4 recipes containing more then 15 plant based foods. Our tummies were full and we tried lots of new ingredients!

17.01.2022 Congratulations LLS parents! By supporting the recent book fair, you have been able to assist the library in obtaining over $700 worth of resources. Thank you so much!

16.01.2022 Yesterday 8 of our senior school boys competed in the State Schools Basketball Carnival. We were invited to this event after the Riverland carnival, held earlier this term. Coming up against the best competition in the state, the boys performed incredibly well. We finished 2nd in our pool with 4 wins and 2 losses. The boys learnt a lot from the experience and represented our school with pride. Thank you to all parents that assisted with transport and scoring, it is much appreciated.

16.01.2022 At our Graduation service we farewelled and acknowledged our wonderful LSO of 24 years, Di Boehm. She received an LEA Service Award for her services to Lutheran Schooling. We thank God for Di’s commitment to the children and staff of LLS over so many years.

16.01.2022 We told you something big was coming to LLS. Say hi to our brand new bus. This new bus will replace our 'Catch' bus. It will be used to pick up and drop off students daily and will also be the bus we use on camps/excursions. With a DVD player and all the mod cons you can think of, it is sure to be hit with students and families.

15.01.2022 Our Reception students were treated to a fun morning at LHS. The talented Year 12 Child Studies students planned themed parties for the students to enjoy. These included games, food, decorations and party bags. We thank the Year 12 students for all their hard work and wish them all the best for the remainder of the year.

13.01.2022 We extend our congratulations to all LHS students on their fantastic SACE results. A great effort considering the hurdles they had to overcome. We were excited to see some old LLS scholars amongst the top achievers in 2020. Great work!

Our school had great success on the day finishing in 1st place of the medium schools division. Well done Luke, let’s hope your record stays in the book for quite some time.

10.01.2022 A reminder to parents that Sports Uniform will be permitted tomorrow due to Formal Uniform being required for School Photos on Tuesday.

10.01.2022 We wish our Choir students the very best as they attend their choir performance tomorrow, Thursday 27th August. 2020 Riverland Primary School’s Music Festival is different this year without the Chaffey Theatre performance- but the singing and smiling faces have not.

10.01.2022 Concert FLASHBACK -2019 Who remembers this? The year 1 class performed a wild and joyful rendition of The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Who’s the King of the Jungle. ... The smiles of these young children continue to warm our hearts here at LLS.

09.01.2022 We hope everyone is enjoying their holidays so far. If you’re looking for something to do, check out Mr Williams reading a story called "Fruit bat" which is about everyone’s favourite dog, Bluey! You’ll find it on the Loxton/Waikerie council’s Facebook page. You can make your own Bluey if you drop into the Loxton Library and pick up a school holiday pack.

08.01.2022 It was a fun day learning about the Reformation in Yr 1. Martin Luther reformed the church 503 years ago by encouraging people to read their Bibles rather than paying for forgiveness from the church. It was a radical moment in the life of the church. Luther’s influence continues to be felt across the world today.

08.01.2022 As part of our Term 3 health unit, the Year 7’s enjoyed a Cross Fit session yesterday, ably coached by Abbey. This class was super fun, highly intensive and provided an insight into different fitness options and ways to keep healthy in our district. Many thanks to Abbey and Crossfit Riverland.

They answered three of our questions, and we learnt a lot about Australia’s lesser known historical figures. Check it out on ABC iview

03.01.2022 Loxton Lutheran School has began the process of Master Planning. Master Planning is all about thinking about learning spaces, pedagogy, future requirements, strategic planning and collaboration. This image is of our school captains looking at some preliminary drafts of designs created by the architect. This was an opportunity for the captains to ask questions, provide feedback and offer suggestions to shape further drafts. We will soon be in a position to share preliminary drafts with our parent community, where we will be inviting feedback, suggestions and comments. Exciting times lay ahead at LLS!

02.01.2022 REMINDER - The Specialist Learning Area Survey is still Open. Your feedback is valued, so if you have not yet participated in the survey, we would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to compete it. The link to the survey has been reissued in an email today.
