15.01.2022 Loxton Mardi Gras Inc is pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 Loxton Mardi Gras Ambassador Program. The theme for this season is ‘NATURE’. Loxton and outlying communities are well known and acknowledged for being a caring, sharing and volunteering community. Invitations are now extended to community focused citizens, from 10 years to 100+ years, to become Ambassadors for the 64th Loxton Mardi Gras. The Mardi Gras aims to improve social poise through the ambassador progr...am as well as develop community experience through public speaking events. In addition to developing ambassador skills, the Mardi Gras is a public platform for organisations to raise funds for the community. It is the strong desire of the Committee for the Mardi Gras to proceed, if allowed, in compliance with the Covid-19 guidelines of SA Health, said Mardi Gras Chairperson, Liz Dymmott. For 2021, there will be three Ambassador categories of Junior, Community and Senior. There will also be an award of Charity Ambassador to the Ambassador who raises the most funds. Mrs Dymmott added, There is no registration fee for any category. We want to be as inclusive as possible and remove whatever barriers may exist to anyone who wants to contribute to Mardi Gras as an Ambassador. The Mardi Gras Committee is also keen to see the sponsorship of Community Ambassadors as an opportunity for local businesses to wave their own flags as supportive corporate citizens. Individuals, businesses, clubs and organisations are invited to demonstrate their support for our community by registering as, or sponsoring, Ambassadors for the 2021 Loxton Mardi Gras.
