25.01.2022 Fresh Food is on again this Sunday 18th October. We look forward to seeing you there! Please remember our new pricing and that we do not have EFTPOS.

25.01.2022 Meet Billinda! Billinda has been part of our Church Community for 21 years, serving in many ways, including as our wonderful, efficient Treasurer for the past 9 years. Billinda was born here in Lithgow, and went to school at Marrangaroo Public School, Lithgow High School, and went on to study at University of Sydney (Bachelor of Science in Agriculture), and Sydney Teachers College (Diploma of Education). Billinda worked as a Teacher of Science/Agriculture for 28 years. When ...she retired from teaching at age 50, she began work as an Instructional Designer at Message Train, designing interactive learning modules that are delivered online. Billinda loves time spent with great friends and her beautiful children and grandchildren, cycling, boot camp, walking the dog with her husband George, gardening, reading (the Bible and Les Miserables are her all-time favourites), reading in church, and her job as Treasurer. Billinda shares with us how she came to know and believe in Christ: George was drawn to Christ and I was dutifully attending church with him. When Alison was born, the Minister asked if we would baptise her and I replied with an emphatic ‘No’ because I didn’t believe the promises made in the baptismal service. He picked up that my disbelief may have come from ignorance of God’s truth and persuaded me to attend a Christianity explained course. The Minister turned out to be correct; my rejection of God was based on making a decision without really knowing God’s side of the story and also on public perception that belief in him wasn’t ‘cool’! I was convinced by what the bible said about God and asked Jesus to include my sins amongst those he died for the rest is history, I’ve been living life ever since with Christ by my side. Faith in Christ has changed Billinda. She helpfully shares: My heart has changed to be more compassionate and my life has purpose to be Christ’s eye’s, heart, mouth, hands and feet in everything I do. In difficult times I know God has a plan and I’m thankful for his help and presence. I am more deliberate about where I use my time and what I value. Billinda, we are so thankful that you are part of our Church Community!

23.01.2022 A message from Rev. Mark Smith regarding church services. I do hope you are continuing well in the LORD trusting His power & goodness in this difficult time. 23.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day! In this weeks Bulletin, Mark writes: Like most milestones in 2020, Fathers Day will be memorable. Memorable because it wont be like others. What is normally a day when many families gather, even such gatherings will have a sense of social distanced separation. This unusual Fathers Day is still a great opportunity to remember the vital roles all fathers play. Even more, it is a chance for us to bask in the love of the perfect Father. Mark share...s 3 ways to acknowledge this day: First, Give thanks for loving earthly Fathers. Second, Grieve earthly Fathers who failed to love. Third, Delight in your perfect Heavenly Father. Whatever your earthly Father was like in his lavish love, God invites us all to be adopted into His family (1 John 3v1). This Fathers Day, whatever your human experience, may you find joy in Divine Fatherhood.

22.01.2022 Take a look at another of our kids videos. We can rejoice in everything and in every circumstance, because we have Jesus.

20.01.2022 A familiar face - congratulations Kristen Young

19.01.2022 Hats don’t just look good. Hats tell us about the wearer. A broad-brimmed sun hat says the wearer is off to the beach. A construction helmet says the wearer is building something BIG A fascinator says someone’s going to a party. The Bible says that Jesus wears a crown. He wears a crown so we’d know the kind of king Jesus is. Once Jesus wore a crown of thorns. He wore a crown of thorns showing His love. He loved us so much that he took our place. He suffered & died, so we can ...be forgiven & live forever. Jesus wore a crown of thorns because He’s the king of love. Now Jesus wears a glorious crown. He wears a glorious crown showing his power. Jesus rules all heaven & earth He’s in charge of everything you see. He’s in charge of everything you don’t see. Jesus has power over everyone & everything. He can do whatever he wants. Jesus wears a glorious crown because He’s the king of power. With all His power, Jesus still loves. He uses his power to bring people into His perfect, everlasting Kingdom. He chooses people to trust him & be forgiven. Jesus shares everything he has with all who follow Him. We wear hats to the beach & to work & to parties. But it’s good that Jesus wears the crown. He’s the king of power & love. He’s the king you can trust & obey. See more

08.01.2022 Peter was sad. Peter was Jesus’ best friend. & when Jesus needed him most, Peter let Jesus down.... Peter told people he never knew Jesus. & Jesus was killed. Now Jesus was gone forever. Peter was sad. Peter was confused. Mary, Joanna & Mary Magdalene went couldn’t find Jesus’ body. They said Jesus wasn’t where they buried him. Peter ran to the tomb. He found the cloths Jesus was wrapped in but no Jesus. He walked away wondering: Where was Jesus? Peter was confused. Peter was excited. Peter was having dinner with his other friends. The room was locked - & Jesus appeared. He said ‘Peace be with you’ They were all filled with joy. Jesus was alive - & he forgave them! Jesus sent them to share his forgiveness with everyone. Peter was excited. Peter was loud! The Holy Spirit came on him with fire in a crowd. He stood up, raised his voice & told thousands of people about Jesus. The Spirit reminded Peter of God’s promise: ‘my body will rest in hope, you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ (Psalm 16) Peter knew Jesus was alive - & Jesus would be alive forever! Peter told everyone about Jesus. Jesus is alive & ruling the world Jesus is alive & forgives sins. Jesus is alive & will take everyone who trusts Him to be with Him. Jesus is alive forever. Sometimes we’re sad for failing Jesus. The Living Jesus forgives us. Sometimes we’re confused. The Living Jesus is with us. Be excited! Be Loud! Jesus is alive forever!

07.01.2022 Sermon passage: Luke 5:1-32. Day 3 17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal those who were ill. 18 Some men came carrying a paralysed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowe...Continue reading

01.01.2022 Sermon passage: Luke 5:1-32. Day 2 12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, ‘Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.’ 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 Then Jesus ordered him, ‘Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices tha...t Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.’ 15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their illnesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. In these early chapters Luke is piling up incident after incident to give us a clear picture of who Jesus is and what he is capable of. Here he shows Jesus as being above the cleanliness laws of the Jews. As you will know, leprosy was perhaps the most obvious and extreme example of the cleanliness laws of the Bible because not only were you ceremonially unclean if you had the disease you were also cast out from participating in the religious rites of your community: you were actually expelled from the community itself [Lev 13:45 & 46]. It was the ancient quarantine system at work, and it was permanent as long as you had the disease. The word leprosy covered a multitude of skin diseases but leprosy itself was incurable. You were an outcast for life. This man was a particularly bad case he was covered with leprosy. Lord if you are willing you can make me clean. What agony and desperation there is in those words! He falls on his face, puts his face to the ground and begs for healing. Is this not a picture of how we all come to Jesus to be cleansed? We have nothing to offer. We cannot earn his cleansing in any way. All we can do is ask. The great D.L. Moody is credited with saying that spreading the Good News is just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread. Jesus reaches out his hand and touches the man. Luke’s phrasing makes it clear that this was a deliberate act by Jesus; it was no accidental touching. He is deliberately overruling the law of the Old Testament, the law given by God himself, by touching the man. Theoretically the touch would make Jesus unclean but, as the Son of God, Jesus’ purity is so intense that it overpowers the uncleanness. This foreshadows what happens at the cross where the perfection and purity of Christ overwhelms evil completely. With just four words years of disease and disgrace are wiped out. When Peter was overwhelmed by his sinfulness, Jesus’ words to him were don’t be afraid; we now have the reason why fear is not necessary - Jesus can overcome our uncleanness. Does your new status in Christ fill you with Joy? [1 Peter 1:8] Does it make you want to spread that Good News? PRAYER Lord God our helper, keep me focused on your great blessings to me. Amen
