23.01.2022 Very strange thing happened last week while writing for National Novel Writing Month. I finished writing my novel, (tentatively titled Silencing the Shadow) Its finished. I have been working on it for so long I cant quite comprehend its done.... Only the last few years did I get any momentum (and do classes) so theres lots of fixing and Im certain it will shrink, but ... I still accidentally wrote War and Peace ... we need to celebrate!

22.01.2022 My concept art of the Isle of the Mages. Scrapped for something more realistic, but I have refined the mechanics of the world, and now this scene or something like it may have a second life ;)

20.01.2022 Nano progress: at 25 940 words, need to hit 32 673 to catch up today! Eek! Better get my butt into gear!

19.01.2022 Available for pre-order now! :D

19.01.2022 News update, Ive got several short stories sent out and currently being assessed- two have been accepted! Links for where to find them coming as I get them. Also a dark horror story is in the works! Not normally my style, but hopefully itll be exciting!

18.01.2022 Very old original concept art of one of my protagonists. This was before I built the story world however, and she was black for inclusions sake. However later I realised it was more likely for people of Japanese descent to have colonized the area. This is just a flashback :)

16.01.2022 Its live! The Stories of Hope charity bushfire relief anthology is out in ebook form for now, but if theres enough demand, paperback might be in its future. Its a diverse, unusually large anthology, well worth its low price. Check it out and leave us a comment!... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51278555-stories-of-hope

12.01.2022 Today Ive got an audience while I work Custom dolls of mine Ive yet to photograph before I list them on Etsy. Theyre fine but the little grinning fairy is a bit unnerving perhaps I should avert her eyes haha!

10.01.2022 Writing a dark horror story for a publication that requests not violent or gory. Its my first horror story and I have a horrible feeling Ive kind of flown past their mark! Ah well only submission will tell. I like my concept though... worst case scenario itll be good for a rewrite

09.01.2022 47479 / 50000 words One rough draft novel completed. Two short stories written, and re-written twice each a third short story plotted, and in progress. Mwahahah

09.01.2022 Heres a page to keep up to date with my short stories, and novel progress! I will also include concept art now and then because I am also a painter, in digital, and acrylic on canvas.

05.01.2022 Looking into whether recording an audio recording of my stories on mp3 conflicts with any publishing contracts in the future. Short story as a mini ebook? It takes just under half an hour to read aloud. Think this is something I should pursue (until Im famous and Morgan Freeman does my audiobooks, of course)

04.01.2022 Submitted my entry today to the Australian Speculative Fiction Charity anthology Stories of Hope anthology. It will be an ebook, and all proceeds go to bushfire relief. I will update when its ready!... https://aussiespeculativefiction.com/subm/stories-of-hope/

03.01.2022 My concept art of my protagonist in my novel Silencing the Shadow. Well, about halfway through he looks like this.

03.01.2022 An amusing short story, inspired by a conversation with my husband Ben about the state of affairs in the country. - The rolling thunder obscures the rumbling of the plane engines. Its night, and the plane is flying low altitude, racing the storm to fulfill its covert mission: a supply drop. The landscape below is sparsely populated with trees and homes but its side is already pocked with a few test shots; people below attempting to bring it down for its precious cargo. The... crate is pushed free of the hangar bay, parachute unfurling. It glides silently through the electrified air, gracefully setting down in the open. The underbrush shifts, and as though from nowhere, figures in ghillie suits converge upon the crate. Hurriedly they tear its sides off and shred the plastic wrap in tense silence. Its innards are pulled free to be disseminated. The blast of an elephant rifle shatters the atmosphere, and the thieves scatter and run like vermin, vanishing into the night. This isnt the first time the rifle has been necessary. Benjamin strolls over to the crate, rifle on one shoulder, to review what is left of the contents. Only five packs were stolen. Better than last time. He reaches in and withdraws an item, the precious cargo airdropped into the country by his overseas family, and smiles. Its triple length and double ply. His favourite toilet paper.

02.01.2022 I entered the Wollongong Writers Festival Short Story Prize 2019 with the theme "All Lit Up". The goal is to promote discussion about things that normally stay hidden, things which we should bring more into the light. I entered a story titled "I See Monsters." Its the first real writing competition Ive entered, so I dont hold out high hopes, but its good to release ones writing out into the wild!
