25.01.2022 This weekend saw club members explore the waterfalls of South Gippsland... Minnie Ha Ha, Agnes, Narracan, Morwell River and Turton Creeks were some of those visited. Magnificent first tracks through valleys filled with Mountain Ash and tree ferns... Livingstone Road Track proved to be a challenge, with a sink hole having appeared and the remaining track only wide enough for a vehicle... 2metre hole to the right, a deep drop off to the left... many deep breaths when the Perentie crossed over!
24.01.2022 Last weekend saw members undertake a few trips. The first group set out to explore the Jordan Valley in the Thomson State Park... from all accounts an amazing trip.
23.01.2022 The second group... explored the mountains and huts around Craig’s Hut... breathtaking... though it seems not without a few bonnet and under vehicle explorations!
23.01.2022 Happiness is Rookie of the Year for 2020... congratulations Mark Browne. Whilst our last meeting of the year was virtual... the joy of technology meant I could attend the meeting from my car... and thus knock on Mark’s door when it came time to announce Rookie of the Year! Congratulations to Mark and all our award winners. We look forward to catching up with everyone in 2021!
22.01.2022 Well... new ground was broken last night with our first virtual general meeting.... thanks to all involved, but a special thanks to Membership officer, Steve and our Secretary, Sue for bringing the evening to life... without the efforts of people such as you, our club would be much poorer... thank you and well done... And for those of you who took part thank you... we had over one hundred people register their interest and almost 80 took part... some new to the video conference experience, others who live the dream of VC each and every day... some young, some old... but collectively it was a great meeting. And to add to the joy... we welcomed eight new members... we look forward to seeing them and their vehicles sometime soon.
20.01.2022 Great to see members of the LROCV out and about this weekend. Today, the first of two day trips exploring the area around Kepples Hut, Lake Mountain and Paradise Flats. Somewhat hazy due to controlled burns earlier in the week, but still a great part of Victoria.
17.01.2022 We may be confined to quarters but the LROCV is quietly working behind the scenes to ensure planning continues and we emerge ready to go when Covid 19 ceases to control our lives.
17.01.2022 With LROCV members back on the tracks, last weekend saw another group hit the Grampians, Wyperfield NP and the Big Desert. Some snaps follow, and again it looks like a great weekend was had!
16.01.2022 And the last of the long weekend trips... this time the Malle Sunset Country... great to see people getting about in small... Covid safe... groups!
14.01.2022 Today was the second day of the LROCV exploration of the area around Kepples Lookout, Paradise Plains and Kepples Hut. A wider collection of vehicles today including a new Defender... the first to join a LROCV trip... and 1956 series vehicle. And the first bush pinstripe on a new Discovery 5...but a glorious day nevertheless!
10.01.2022 For those with a love of Land Rover, this young couple are currently in Japan, having driven from France... their YouTube videos are well worth watching, so too their Facebook posts.
10.01.2022 We are back on the road! After months of no trips, last weekend saw members journey wide and far... this first set from the Big Desert. Looks like it was an amazing weekend!
10.01.2022 For something a little different... HRH Queen Elizabeth, a Land Rover stalwart, turns 94 today!
06.01.2022 And some more from the Mountains and Huts Trip... glorious!
03.01.2022 The long weekend saw a group of Discos explore the Buffalo, Buckland, Blue Rag and beyond... from all accounts a great trip.
