24.01.2022 Last car for the year!!! Damian’s VF rounded out a busy year here. The LS3 donk is topped by a Harrop 2650 blower. Craig’s Automatics built a super tough 6L80 trans and threw a hi-stall in front of it. Drives very well on the road, with more than enough grunt....

23.01.2022 Phil’s VE was in for a Vortech blower install and tune. The Cammed 6 litre Manual made 404hp as it was. CAPA Performance supplied the comprehensive kit to install the V2 blower. Great performance from just 8 pounds peak boost.....

23.01.2022 David’s big Cruiser was back for a health check. It has been on a few trips since I tuned it, having just got back from Cape York. David just wanted to give it a check up after having run contaminated fuel.... Still running sweet.

22.01.2022 Aidan’s VZ made the numbers. Starting with 299hp, the Manual 5.7 was strong to start with. Add an OTR and MAFLess tune, makes this one of the best stockers that I’ve seen.

21.01.2022 Les brought his FC back in after a Cam change. The LS1 is backed by a TH400 trans. The new Cam is bigger in duration and has a fairly tight lobe separation. The new stick lost him 6hp.... the big number might not look as flash, but the gains were there everywhere except the last 200 rpm. Great gains through the mid-range, will make the car quicker for sure. Just goes to show, that the final number is not everything!!!

21.01.2022 Chris and Jess brought their LSA powered VE in for some mods and a retune. As it was, it made 549hp on 10 pounds. They were looking to neaten up the engine bay and hopefully gain some power... I installed a VCM blower snout and OTR, and also fitted a Forced Induction Interchiller. I installed a Stewart EMP coolant pump, and I ran braided hose to make a neat install.... The previous tuner had completely disabled the Rev limiter - a strange thing to do - which could have easily ended in disaster!!! In the end, on 11.5 pounds gaining almost 100hp was certainly worth the effort, and the engine bay now looks neat and tidy. See more

20.01.2022 Daniel’s VE Calais has been a saga that’s for sure. Last year, Daniel had a Cam and DOD delete package done at a Performance shop. (The Performance shop is not local) Daniel complained straight away that the car was pushing on the brakes, would stall and was generating shit to drive. The car would get less than 10 km down the road and overheat. Daniel came to me, and I told him to take it back to them to sort it out. He took the car back to them and it turned out to be a blow...n head gasket. Apparently they had used cheap Chinese head gaskets, which clearly didn’t even last long enough for him to get the car home!!! They replaced the head gaskets with quality MLS items and sent him on his way. Daniel complained straight away that the engine had a misfire. He also mentioned that the brakes were very hard and it wasn’t easy to stop the car. I was tasked to solve these issues. Firstly, feeling behind the manifold I could feel that the brake booster vacuum line was wedged under the intake manifold. Pretty easy fix, remove the intake, route the hose correctly and bam, the brakes now work. The second issue was a little trickier. In the end I narrowed the misfire down to Cylinder number 4. Removed the coil packs. As I am undoing the rocker cover bolts, one of them just spins around, clearly stripped - as the picture shows with the aluminium threads stuck on the bolt. Looking at number 4, the pushrod for the intake valve wasn’t located in the rocker correctly. With the rocker removed, it was clear that the pushrod wasn’t even touching the lifter. The pushrod was pushed down between the lifter tray and the block. Pushrod in the correct position, rocker torqued down, all back together, (Daniel will need to helicoil the stripped thread later).... Fired it up, all 8 cylinders are working again. I’ll get the car on the Dyno in the near future to retune it as well.

19.01.2022 You are never too old to have fun, and the owner of this VF just proves the point!!! Peter recently had a Cam package fitted to his Auto 6 litre. He came to me saying he wanted more - who doesn’t- Peter is only 71 years old after all..... He wanted grunt straight off the mark, and a little Eaton M122 blower will give him just that. Straight on the rollers, the Cammed Ex chaser made 390hp.... Running only 7 psi of boost, the blower gives the urge that he was looking for. It has great torque down low, and makes a respectable 500hp..... See more

18.01.2022 It’s not often that a car will max out the Dyno, but Martin’s Cosmo certainly did!!! Normally powered by a Triple Rotor 20B, this machine is a little different. Sitting in front of a beefy TH400, rests a 400 cube LS, with a single turbo, running on E85. On just under 12 pounds, this thing makes over 1550Nm - which at only 110km/h roller speed is too much for the retarder. A very cool machine that carries a big stick.....

17.01.2022 Steve’s VY was in for a tune. He had just fitted an Eaton M122 blower kit to the LS1. Running a big NA Cam not really suited to boost, the little blower made 9.5 psi. Slurping on E85, power is fed through a big stall in front of a 4L60 trans..... This thing is soooo much fun on the road, leaving liquorice strips everywhere!!!

17.01.2022 Jacko’s 57 Chev 2 door was in for a tune. Running an LS3, backed by a 6 speed Auto, this thing was made to cruise. Brush Customs firstly converted the car to right hand drive, then adapted the LS3 and Auto to the old beast. She’s a beauty that’s for sure!!!

16.01.2022 Regan’s Colorado was in for a tune. The Auto 2.8 Diesel made 135hp with the stock tune. The order was a Tow Tune, so Regan can pull his 3 tonne portable hotel to his next holiday destination.... A great increase for sure, with even more available if needed.

16.01.2022 Carl from 100% Automotive brought this new Cruiser around for a tune. He fitted a lift kit, and some other 4 wheel drivey type stuff With the stock tune, the big beast spat out 135hp. After finalising the remap, torque at 2000 rpm has doubled. On the road, these things are just awesome.

15.01.2022 Jason’s VF was in for a Cam upgrade. Straight on the rollers, the Walkinshaw 2300 blown, 6 litre Auto struggled its way to 423hp. Cam and springs fitted, the Lowndes special was ready for Tuning. Boost dropped to around 7.5 pounds with the Cam upgrade, but that is plenty for now. Jason is loving the tough idle and newly found power!!!

11.01.2022 Mark’s Turbo VF Maloo was in for a retune. Straight on the rollers, the boosted LS3 Manual made 620hp. It had too much timing in the mid-range, but not enough up top. Not huge gains overall, but a nice top end improvement......

11.01.2022 Doug’s VY was in for some festive season fun.... He had recently fitted a Vortech blower to the LS1. The 5.7 litre is totally stock, as is the 4L60 trans and convertor.... It made 481hp at 6000rpm (14 pounds), but the owner didn’t want much more than 10 pounds boost. I set the rev limit to 5600 where boost was just over 11 pounds. I adjusted the shift points to line up with the new limiter.... Great performance for a stocker with a blower strapped on..... See more

10.01.2022 Nathan’s GTS is as cool as a cucumber Well the intake air temps are, thanks to a Forced Induction Interchiller. Some retuning after fitting the chiller saw some great gains. Anyone that knows Nathan, will know that enough is never really enough..... He will be back next year for a few extras......

09.01.2022 Martin’s VY was back for a retune after he upgraded a few bits..... Firstly, he built a 383 stroker, then upgraded from an M122 blower to a 2300.... Finally he installed an interchiller. On just an easy 10 pounds of boost, the torque on the convertor hit is intense to say the least. Martin complained that the car now has a wheel alignment problem...... apparently this issue is directly related to the throttle. He said it just won’t stay in a straight line!!!

09.01.2022 Carl from 100% Automotive brought Alex’s 79 series Cruiser in for a tune, after they had fitted a heavy duty clutch. Stock tune, the V8 diesel made 126hp. After writing up a custom tune, 70hp gain was the result and it peaks 400 rpm earlier!!! The best news though, is the torque. Peak torque now occurs at just 1800 rpm, where it increased from 311 Nm to 646 Nm!!! On the road, this heavily loaded work truck goes great.......... With more than double the torque, I’m sure Alex will love it See more

08.01.2022 Chris brought his 79 series Cruiser in for a remap. Starting with 140hp, the extra heavy dual cab needed a few extra horses to drag the big Caravan around. With more than double the torque at 2000 rpm, she now motors up and over the hills!!?

07.01.2022 Pete’s Sprintcar made some noise on the weekend.... It runs a 6 litre LS with rectangular port heads and a FAST intake, running on E85. There is no transmission, just a lever to select direct drive or neutral.... no reverse, no gears, no clutch.... I’m sure Pete will have a ball in this thing, though he may need a nappy for the first few drives!!!

07.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone

05.01.2022 This is the second car in a row to max out the Dyno. Mark’s Ponty just makes too much torque, which freezes the screen. The 427 YSi blown machine, is just running a tame tune on 98 fuel. Another one destined for the Hub Dyno.

05.01.2022 Jesse brought his Calais in for a Cam package. I had already tuned this one, it made roughly 340hp as a stocker. I spec’d a reasonable sized stick for this one, as the owner wanted a strong top end. Tough idle and great power, this one ticks all the boxes.....

05.01.2022 Sam from Kings Point Automotive in Ulladulla brought in this HQ Ute. Running an LS1 with a small Cam and 4L60 trans, I’m sure this well patina’d old girl goes much better than Holden ever intended!!

01.01.2022 Mark’s old Ponty hit the rollers for a run-in..... The new combo features a 427 cube LS boosted by a Vortech blower. Power is channeled through a tough TH400 to a 9 inch rear end. Running on 98 fuel and only 13 pounds boost, (limited by a wastegate) power is strong for a light running-in tune.... A few teething problems stopped Tuning short, but we will get back into it next year. Even at this power level, this thing is lethal
