11.01.2022 Hi! It’s Melina here jumping on socials with an exciting opportunity you can be involved in. Would you be interested in extending yourself this year to mentor a Woman new to the building and construction industry? I hope so. Unfortunately, a large number of Women only remain in our industry for three years, before moving on.... If we can all do our part to encourage more Women in construction, imagine the benefits to the industry. But how? In 2020, I was a mentor to the highly talented and driven Interior Designer, Arty Kovacs with her growing business AFD Interior Design We were matched through @masterbuildersaust Women Building Australia Mentoring program. A rewarding and motivating experience it was, and thankfully, the program is running again this year. The Women Building Australia National Mentoring Program provides women in the building and construction industry with access to support, encouragement and advice from experienced individuals through a virtual or face to face mentoring relationship. Mentors can be either female or male with 6+ yrs in the construction industry. Mentees, we want you too! As a mentee you will be female with up to 5 years experience working in our industry. It is a developmental mentoring program where both parties will benefit. Please do the industry a favour and assist in encouraging more women to remain in our industry. We arrived back safely We visited our sites in Modbury, Ridleyton and Mile End. Then finished off the day at the Harvey Norman Commercial showroom. Lots of laughter and we learnt a thing or two!
