21.01.2022 We’ve been super impressed with our Charollais X progeny - a top option for merino, maiden or spring lambing ewes in particular. Charollais X rams available at our on property ram sale Friday Oct 23

20.01.2022 Congratulations Allendale Studs - the best balanced Suffolks. Lot 31 is top 1% for weaning weight across all terminal breeds

17.01.2022 Great week so far - allocating the commercial ewes to their lambing paddocks. Using temporary fences, our twin pregnancy ewe average mob size is 118, targeting high lamb survival rates. Twin lambing paddocks received liquid fertiliser and 3-4 weeks rest to achieve good pasture cover, once again for lamb survival and ewe nutrition. Stud lambing is well underway, these two are sired by Derrynock 569/18 - top price spring drop ram at the Derrynock sale last year, with an outstanding combination of performance, structure & type. What a great Mum! Graph credit: https://www.agric.wa.gov.au//ovine-observer-december-2016-

10.01.2022 Flashback to an undrafted mob of LSK Suffolk X Merino commercial lambs, in the old yards! 4.5 months old, avg. 21.1kg CWT. A very simple, low cost system. What better time to join a terminal ram to the ewes you dont want to breed replacements from?

09.01.2022 First post on LSK Studs page can only be Allendale 817/11 Nigel. Bought at the 2012 Allendale ram sale, shortly after winning interbreed champion ram at the Royal Melb Show under NZ judge Norman Carr. Nigel still has more than 60 daughters in our stud flock. The exceptional growth & muscle performance, longevity and consistency of his progeny, from any ewe, make him a legend of our Suffolks. His influence will be strong for a long time to come.
