17.01.2022 Interesting article, and we see too many cases where people decide not to get an agreement and it go completely pear-shaped. We do not agree that a tribunal would be equipped to handle such disputes, as anyone who has dealt with NCAT Guardianship would attest. What should occur, however is mandatory written agreements and further education of these arrangements and what should be done to protect all owners. They sound good in theory but all too often the child or their partne...r forget the reasons and seek to push the elder out. The elder has lost the benefit of the money and is too afraid to sue family members. We don't hold the answers but we can certainly assist you being in the position whether you are the elder or the younger in these sorts of arrangements. Seek advice from specialist advisors such as ourselves. Not all lawyers know this stuff. See more

14.01.2022 We've had a busy time helping clients with a Supreme Court hearing that ultimately settled mid-hearing. We also had an elder abuse / suspected elder abuse matter before the Tribunal where we were successful in having the alleged abuser removed as guardian and attorney.
