20.01.2022 Congrats to our All Age Women 2Bs who finished the 2020 season in 2nd place in what was a very close competition. For several weeks the premiership was up for grabs, with 5 teams battling over a handful of points and the rankings changing after every round. It was only in Round 13 that some drawn matches and a strong finish to the season by ACU decided the Premiership. Congrats to @acufc_sydney and well played! 19.01.2022 APIA LEICHHARDT LEGENDS- Terry Butler, an amazing midfielder who played for APIA Leichhardt FC for his entire footballing career! Terry was an APIA junior who surprised his coaches and quickly made it through to playing for APIA’s first grade team from 1971 until 1988. Terry was part of APIA’s incredible 1987 season where the team held a 20 game unbeaten streak! This is a record that still stands today.... Terry also played as a winger for the Socceroos in 1972. This contributes to the proud, long and unparalleled history of APIA players playing at a national team level. Terry has won the following honours and awards with APIA: Sydney Champions in 1975 NSW Grand Final in 1976 Ampol Cup in 1971 and 1974 National Cup in 1982 and 1988 National Soccer League in 1987 Terry’s journey through APIA’s youth teams leading to a regular position in first tier team action is shared by many APIA players. The amount of juniors that APIA has produced that have played at a National team level and for first tier teams is astonishing and unparalleled.
